    Stopped back for another view of this collaborative video. I hope this oven becomes part of your 2024 volume 1 rocket stoves book series. Peace Tom

    Amazing to see that steel being cut! Love the whole design. Came out looking super slick.

      Yes! I was struggling to decide what to do for the door. The first time I saw that plasma cutter slice some steel I knew what to do. :-)

    The oven looks nice, but the temperature was right! Your oven was too cold, pizza can't take more than 90 seconds. There was no leapord skin pattern and bread was too crusty.
    Don't measure the temperature of the fire or the back of the oven, seems you did that. Always check the bottom or stone on which the pizza would be.

    You should remove the mill scale from the peel you built, it's not really good for food. Put the peel in a shallow container with enough white vinegar to cover, wait 2 days and you can use a paint scraper to remove the scale. Or spend a few hours grinding it off, it's tough stuff. T Henderson it like cast iron so it won't rust. Nice build

      Thank you for the tip. I’ll take care of the scale. Thank you for watching.

    Terrific video, thanks for sharing. Perhaps you can drill a small hole through the door to insert a meat thermometer into the oven. We have a small digital probe from GFS for ~$5. I thought the Z was from Smartz. Cheers.

    hey, put a bakerstone pizza oven on your rocket stove, it's only 130$ but it works much better because it heats up top, bottom and both sides, and it goes up to 900F

    You need to turn down the wire speed a notch when you heave too bulky welds.

    nice oven, i want to make one myself using a rocket stove design, how do you solve the ash problem, to no have it over the pizza?

    • @josephhann4068

      Good question, I would also like to know.

    • @GreenShortzDIY
      @GreenShortzDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adrián and Joseph, what seems to work is slowing the fire down. After I heat the oven with a fast burning rocket fire, I switch from small sticks to bigger sticks. They burn more slowly, maintaining the heat, while reducing the draft, which is what carries the ashes up into the oven. Thank you for watching.

    I like pizza; but, over the last several years, I have noticed that our local pizza restaurants have been putting garlic in the pizza crust. So much that it has gotten to the point of being too much. If I want pizza, I have to make it myself. Your pizza looks good.
    Can you make meatloaf in the pizza oven? My mom had this big cast iron skillet that she would sometimes use to make meatloaf.

    oven floor is fire brick? thanks

    • @GreenShortzDIY
      @GreenShortzDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Samantha, yes, the floor and sides are firebrick. There is a metal arch of rebar that supports the cement roof of the oven with a layer of perlite in between.

    • @samanthanicholson9015
      @samanthanicholson9015 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      couldn't the rocket stove be pt in center and or rear and have fire come from under the floor with maybe some side or small holes for he heat to come through? i didn't like that the soot flying all over on the new build though i liked the temp. i also loved the door and your pizza pick up tray
