Did you folks test any silica aerogel composite blankets like Pyrogel XT? The performance, weight, and thickness would seem be within your requirements. :)
Believe the answer is that this is only intended to be a short-term shelter. Ideally, one wouldn't spend enough time in it *to* run out of oxygen. Trying to confirm that answer with Josh and Ray.

I understand this seems like really awesome technology but... are we sure they're not just making human-sized baked potato pouches?
It's the reverse of that. The idea is to keep as much heat as possible *outside* the pouch so the "potato" inside doesn't bake.
That's what you *want* us to think! The Tin Hat Societies will be all over this eventually ;)
LawffleCopter Common man, you got NASA to reply to you. No conspiracies ;)
I know I'll be honest I geeked a little. Doesn't matter who at NASA replied, they still did it :3
the last part: lol im a worm!!
Will they have a problem with running outof oxygen to breathe though? I remember this being mentioned as a problem.

NASA Langley Research Center i suppose one of those short-term scuba oxygen masks could be included if needs be.
