Cam Reddish 22 Points Full Highlights (1/17/2020)

  • With each good game that Cam "Michael Redd-ish" Reddish puts up, the lower his chances of being a total bust go. Now, by my count, he's only had about a half-dozen performances that fall into (or at least come close to falling into) the "good" category, so his chances of being a total bust are still pretty high. But tell me: would a total bust score 22 on good efficiency with 4 steals and 4 assists in a close win against one of the premier franchises in the league?
Sure, the Spurs aren't what they used to be, but there's still no reason for the Hawks to win this game UNLESS Reddish decides to live up to his draft slot and actually hit some shots for once. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this counts as a SIGNATURE GAME for him. Reason being: it's the first game of his career where he both had a good scoring performance and his team won. If he's going to have a signature game, this is literally the only option, because scoring 25 while getting your butt kicked by the Nets doesn't mean much of anything.
Oh yeah, and he played defense as well. I'm not a big fan of defense in general (because it prevents buckets [the most fun part of the NBA by far] from happening), but I know that a lot of people smarter than me seem to think it's important. Him having a good defensive performance on top of scoring the ball well and beating a perpetual championship contender is just gravy.
...I sadly put away my already-inked rubber stamp that says "BUST" in big capital letters, which I was getting ready to stamp firmly onto his forehead.

Yeah hes starting to trust his dribbling and is being more attack minded. I think hes starting to figure it out now that hes going against the same teams for the 2nd or 3rd time. He catching on slower then Trae did.

@@PyroInferno110 slower because if you really look at it Trae was already getting multiple 20 point games at the start of the season. Just his shooting percentage was not good at all. But he was scoring on a consistent clip. For Cam he was straight trash the first half. Only getting sometimes 1 or 3 points. Just now since December he has started to have consistent strings of 10 plus point games. Hes coming along very slowly then Trae. By all star break last year trae was putting up all star caliber numbers.

Drafting Omari Spellman over Mitchell Robinson is something that annoys me until this day. I thought it was too perfect for Schlenk not to see it, especially with center being our biggest need going into that draft. I thought , draft Trae Young, then if We get lucky, Robinson might fall to 19 because he took a year off and we would have a rim running, defensive center to complement a pg that would get him lobs with Trae’s elite passing and help make up for Trae’s lack of defense by protecting the rim. We took Huerter instead because schlenk valued getting Trae his own Klay Thompson (backcourt shooter) which I was skeptical of but I accepted it. But when Mitchell fell to the last pick of the first round and we passed on him for an undersized, overweight, and less talented player at the same position I wanted to break my tv. A Mitchell Robinson is exactly what we need at center.

@@joestuehmer7967 Trae Is a generational player, neither of these guys has Trae's talent and none probably will for another 10 years, so if it took Trae Time to adapt and adjust and if these kids have at best 50 percent of Trae's talent why would we expect them to evolve into stars overnight? This was a tank season so these kids could develop on the job so let's at least allow them a full season to adjust to the NBA

@@olzickmont5723 Cause ur making it seem like Trae had a bad rookie season when in fact he had one of the best rookie seasons ever he just had a slow start in November and he wasn't getting enough playing time when Lin was there and that's why he averaged 25/9 from feb-april that's literally half of the season... Not saying Cam or none of the other rookies wont be great but they are just way too inconsistent so none of them are guarantees and Trae wants to win now he wont wait 2-3 years for them to possibly reach their potential

Hawks best defender, becoming the hawks best mid range shooter which is something we have struggled with since joe Johnson, I think he might follow the development rate of another Dukie, BI, and show glimpses for the first 2-3 years before taking off at the end of year 3 . This past week is giving me some optimism that maybe he will develop a little faster. His defense is already ahead of schedule, just has to work on finishing in the paint through contact, and growing more confident with his handle and shot

Cam Reddish is going to be star. I've seen some dribbling mistakes where is susceptible to turnovers, but he is a star. I would like to see some plays set-up just for him. Being on the Hawks Squad, he has got to raise his level of play, because the Hawks has a squad of players in the limelight ahead of him. Deandre Hunter, Capela, Trae Young, Bogdon, John Collins, Kevin Huerter, and even Danilo has done some great things this year 2021. I still think Cam Reddish's game is more valued than Tony Snell because his defensive abilities. He has to potential to play even point guard with his passing abilities. However, If he continues to work on his game and knows what shot is his shot, he could surpass every Duke player that ever came from Duke!
