We had a really, really expensive bull that did this. My dad tried everything , at one time he had 15 ft of the heaviest ring made and that didnt even stop him.40 lb blocks attached to his rings to drag didn't stop him. A Peterbilt with a load of logs did. The truck was less than 6 days old and totaled. Dad said he wasn't crying , but he crying mixed with that maniacal laughter. He wasn't friendly or approachable like Tex either! The bull not my dad lol. One mean bull
Oh gosh, that happened to my mom when she was a teenager and growing up on a ranch. For some reason the bull zeroed in on her during a cattle drive and began chasing her and her horse! The farm hands tried everything to distract that thing, tried cutting him off with every truck they had on hand, but that bull just wouldn't let up! They finally had to sacrifice one of the trucks by letting the bull T-bone it and knock himself out just to get the bull to stop charging!
I love how this was built for tex and his craziness breaking out all the time and that was his forever home ...buy now his forever home is long horn Lester's and he is very very happy there and it's awesome for sure
I had a Hereford bull 2800 lbs. Built a 3" pipe fence sink the poles 30" he lifted out of the ground had to dehorn him his horns weren't very big but they were incredibly strong. We loved him he died of old age.
Great vids, I grew up around ranching, my Grandpa who is 103 shares a story of a rancher who bought a bull, next day he gets a call from his next door neighbour and asks if he by chance got a new bull? Next day the Neighbour calls and tells the guy his bull is in his pasture again. A week later the Neighbour has a new bull. His point was that a bull lives where he wants. Thanks for posting, Tex and Billy actually look like they are old drinking buddies.
My Billy goat lifts the fence gate (much lighter than yours!) with his horns, and he tests the fence almost as much. He's a great escape artist. Animals are fun 😆

I went to a dairy farm who had a Brahma Bull for breeding their cows. It was actually a pet bull and loved people but when it got a whiff of a hot female they had no way to stop him from getting to her. That bull ran thru fences, gates, it didn't matter he didn't stop until he got to her. The farm ended up having to get someone to take the bull away. It loved people and would not hurt a flea unless it was something that got between him and her.
Lester Reminiscing when he was moved over to his big pasture now to Longhorn Lester's. Looking back I remembered when the barn rat was found and I thought you were going to scream, so turned down the volume and it was Jami who screamed loud. That I chuckled out loud. This was fun to look back on.

I am brand new to your channel as this is video #3 for me and you already have me screaming! When that barn rat darted out I screamed right with y'all. I lived 60 years in Medina County, Texas on ranch land and had plenty of rat adventures and rattlesnake encounters......if the snakes would have stuck to rats instead of my small yard dogs and cats I wouldn't have used my snake persuasion 😕. Those are two critters I do not miss since retirement in my hubby's childhood state of Wisconsin.......he lived 30 years in Texas so was well acquainted with them as well. I'm just glad when we all screamed I didn't throw this bowl of spaghetti out of my lap 😨😇

Have you ever set fence posts with gravel? Packs really tight, drains so it don't rot the bottom of the post as quick as concrete. And you can use a steel bar to loosen up the gravel should you need to pull the post for whatever reason. I've done a few fences this way and won't use cement anymore. Recent subscriber, lot of fun to watch from my usual content choice of cars. Small creator here lol

Hope that fence holds for you. I'm thinking that if Tex rubs it like you showed before he's going to pop out staples and then push the boards off. I personally would have probably put all the fencing inside the pen. Hopefully you've got him corralled now. Good luck
Over here in GB we buy quick drying cement which you can put in your post hole as drylene or mixed with a small amount of water and it will go off rock hard within an hour or two and completely cure in a couple of days. Mixing up compo your way though is an excellent way of keeping fit.
Next time you build a fence you should put the horizontal timber on the inside of the uprights then screw on that way the animal weight will transfer to uprights instead of just the screws holding them on
It's probably been suggested before, but you are putting the boards on the wrong side of the posts. When the bull pushes, he is pushing the boards away from the posts. If the boards are on the inside, the bull pushes the boards into the posts.
Run 3 electric fence wires on inside of your fence use outriggers so the wires are at least a foot from the main fence , electric fence unit requires 7000 to 10000 volts . This will not harm him just his pride. And your fences will love you for it
When I am bored, lonely, sad, mad, happy whatever reason I watch LHL or ISS videos nonstop. This is one of my favorites, Lester postering about his fence building or grumpy because the Donkeys are spilling everything it just makes me happy. The best part of this video though is the cement stack and the barn rat. Lester moves that sack and that rat jumps out and Jami squeals and jump and scares me every time. I’m not easily amused! Now go watch Tex’s prison break.
Lester would metal pipes filled with sand and cemented in and that cattle panels atatched on both sides work to keep him in better. And instead of 1×6 you can use pipe connectors metal of course and put 3 pipes 1 on top 1 in middle and 1 on the bottom like you have the wood i know it might be costly but if you do it slowly. Put the pipes and cement in along outside of the fence now and when all put together then move pannel to metal so you can reuse parts. Or just add metal pipe for post in between like a thrid way between so 2 pipes in between whats there and 3 at corners so he can't separte them. 1 at each side and 1 at point where they meet. So it would be the wood and 3 metal he'd have to break through. Just a thought.

You have a bull like that then you have to double your supports by shortening the gap you have almost 8 ' between the post. If ya don't want him to bust wood you have use steel and not the thin stuff from supply stores. And make a steel inner fence and will solve the issue in his main pin you want him in
I had a little mini-puncher male dog that acted like this bull, always looking for way out. So, I gave him to a neighbor that had 2 females, an he never left the yard again!
When you build a fence put the wire and boards on the side that you are primarily concerned with containing the animals on . That way it all works together to withstand thier efforts to escape. They will rub and push against the nails and staples forcing them to loosen and come out.with wire and boards on the outside of the post. Electric is the easiest way to make a bull respect your fences though.
Tex can push the boards and wire panels off the post. My opinion is you would have better results if you would have fasten the boards and panels to the inside of the pen. Then you have the posts as support.
I would've screwed the horizontal boards to the other side of the 4×4 posts. Your way only has screws holding it in place, my way has the 4×4, and the screws holding it in place. The 4×4 as a back bone, and that board ain't going nowhere.

Highway guard rail using 3/4 inch bolts to fasten it to post will keep him in. My brother-in-law does this for his Bulls.

We have own large bull in a metal pipe fence. The cattle panel is wielded on to the pipes.
