i love all of these designs! they feel very thought out and meticulous :3
i'll give as brief of an explanation as i can on all of them:
-a drake has four (or more) legs and no wings (ex: Hover at 0:43 or EarthPelt at 7:27 )
-a wyvern has two (usually) hind legs and two wings where its arms would go (ex: QuietHunter at 6:26 or FalconSnap at 7:51 )
-a wrym is a creature with no legs and no wings (ex: Ghost at 4:53 or StreamBabble at 5:33 )
-an amphiptre has no legs and two wings, in similar positioning to the wyvern (ex: EmberMane at 2:08 or MoonDust at 5:02 )
-a lindwrum has two (usually) front legs and no wings (ex: Tangle at 2:40 or Kyoga at 6:14 )
there are many variations within those groups as well, which is super cool. personally, i was pleasantly surprised by Shadow technically counting as a wyvern (two legs and two wings)! all this being said, i don't mean anything bad by this. i just like sharing this fun knowledge with people :)
I was going to add a chart for people to understand why they were drawn the way they were I'm glad you caught on! Also many of the past dragons have more variation because there was more greenery, and water and the temperature was more suitable. The kingdoms were accepting of mixed-species creating hybrids, like splinter, shadow, and quiet hunter. But since the fire, many of the species fled or went extinct. The fae(butterfly dragons) fled the area, there are existing ones in the present although they are moth dragons.
YES I absolutely adore dragon classification! personally I like to believe that wyverns, drakes, ect., are all just subspecies of dragons and still technically fit under the label. my personal classification criteria for dragons is a reptile of which 50% or more of the species can fly, though other people have different classifications and that's fine. I do love hearing other people's opinions on this :'0

BTW not all dragons have wings, for example Chinese or Asian dragons, not every dragon is the same depends on the culture :/

2 - i believe the odd doggo was specifically referring to western dragons, which *doesn't* include asian dragons. you are correct, though, dragons are different depending on culture.
i like to believe that eastern and western dragons are different species as a whole, but both are still considered dragons, and all the specific classifications of each are subspecies or breeds of their respective parent species.
saying that red pandas have red fur and striped tails is *not* excluding giant pandas from the panda name, as they are two different species, just both *sharing the same name.*

I love how creative the designs for all the characters were, especially Precisecharge with her scroll
Here are some thoughts behind the designs:
Hover has water buffalo horns because of that time when a crocodile was stalking her near the lake/pond, which is exactly what water buffalo have to go through when taking a drink watching out for crocodiles. Fire has golden ram horns like his father, Rains horns are shaped like water drops signifying rain and her immortal form Cansu. Ghost is a wyrm like Asra because he has a close connection to her, Karabi has devil/demon-like horns because it signifies how Lite sees her, evil. Splinter has one big horn and one small under his chin similar to a splinter, Asra has a third eye between her horns since in this world there are three moons, I didn't make Water Hunter as a sea serpent because I thought it would make her more unique to be skilled at something she wasn't designed for water hunting. Her favorite meals would probably be fish hippos, and crocodiles.
Oh my goodness, this must have taken AGES! I honestly have so much respect for you-- you managed to make such creative designs but make us able to tell who is who. And you seriously drew EVERY character... like whoa! That takes a lot of dedication and talent.

i LOVE how you make their designs so characteristic to the original, and also i love the variety of dragons!
So creative and beautiful! I love how you incorporate a different species of dragons and different characteristics. Like how ember mane had no legs, yet proud Mane had eight! And stub with his stubby tail. Meadow and root as two-headed a two-headed dragon, and tangle is just the fluffiest boy! Very creative! Out of all of these, they are amazing, but Moon strike has to be my favorite lol keep up the amazing work!

I like how Fire had the ram-like horns like his dad, I especially loved Feather’s design!
Here's some other family line features, powerstrike and water hunter obtained ember manes wings and sharp tongues legs. Power strike took more on sharp tongue's appearance such as her club tail and spikes. Water hunter obtained her fathers horns and snout appearance.

My fav characters are spark😢, Nightstrike, Zoroark lioness, and will make a warrior cats oc of them. Spark is a reincarnation of Nightstrike theory.
I really like it
