Alter Bridge is 7 albums in now the last album called Pawns and Kings just came out and is one of their best albums. They have released 5 of the 10 songs as video singles. Songs released are Pawns and Kings, This is War, Silver Tongue, Holiday and Sin After Sin. All are great songs. They're on their N. American tour right now. I'll be seeing them on April 1st the last night of the tour for the 1st time. The 3 members of Creed thru out the singer and then formed Alter Bridge with Myles Kennedy. Myles also sings for Slash and has a solo project. Lead guitarist and backing and sometimes lead singer Mark Tremonti has his own band 5 albums in called Tremonti. Drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall. This song you did is from a blu-ray set of the 2 nights they did at The Royal Albert Hall with the Parallex Orchestra. I own the box set, 21 songs all are awesome with the Orchestra. Almost 20 years and the band is still going strong with the new album as proof. Great band! Great Live performance of a pretty good song. Yes, its basically a conversation between one who is struggling with faith / maybe depression, while the other is encouraging him to keep the faith, don’t lose all hope, and rather, ‘fall into the light’! That high note Myles Kennedy hits there near the end, and holds without wavering or any vocal frye, is one of the reasons he’s largely respected as one of the top vocalists out there today in any genre!💪 (and Axl could never do that ;) AlterBridge is a great band with many many better bangers for your gym playlist! Enjoy the ride discovering them!💪
Greg, first off thanks for reacting to the song. Second, some of your subscribers may recognize a couple of the guys in the band. The 3 guys other than the lead singer were members of the band Creed. The lead singer, Myles Kennedy, is considered one of the best singers in rock today. A bit of trivia...in the movie Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg, at the end of the movie Wahlberg's character pulls a young man out of the crowd named Thor who ends up taking over as lead singer of Steel Dragon. That was Myles Kennedy. Greg, your reaction was pretty much spot on...one person expressing doubt and weakness and the other trying to encourage. Good job.

For Alter Bridge watch Blackbird, in Loving Memory, Watch Over You and Cry of Achilles (live versions for all) As a middle aged man 3 of them always make me cry lol. Try Mark Tremonti's Marching in time too (the lead guitarist) written for his little girl. Even if you just listen for yourself 🙂

Former band Creed with a different lead singer. Huge rabbit hole for ya. Great band. Blackbird is one of their staples. Cry of Achilles, Fortress and Isolation also recommended. You mentioned the gym, their song "I know it hurts" was one that always got me amped for working out. They have a lot of great uplifting, motivational music. Check out Tremonti and Myles solo stuff also. Some background on this song, it is more specifically about faith and belief in a higher power. Tremonti is strong in his Christian faith, while Myles struggles with faith and religion, in large part due to losing his father when he was a kid. Because of his father's religious beliefs, he did not seek medical treatment for a treatable condition and ultimately died as a result. Myles felt like his died chose religion over being there for his son. His first solo album, Year of the Tiger, has many tracks written about and devoted to aspects of this topic. This song was based on some of conversational dialogue between the 2 on the topic of faith and their contrasting stances. I think it may be the only AB song without a guitar solo as well, but one helluva killer climactic high note from Myles to close things out. (Side note: Not to be critical, but actually to help boost up your channel, thought I should mention the quality of the audio recording is lacking and getting some clipping/distortion on the top end.)
I you could do a review on "Last Man Standing" by Alter Bridge. It'll blow you away when you hear the message in the lyrics. Makes you want to be cautious and be a better man by not selling yourself out.

He also has two solo albums that are completely different from Alter Bridge. Mark ( the other singer) has five or six solo albums as well. One he does nothing but Sinatra covers.
