    What a fantastic video. If there was only one brand I could ever own and collect, it would be Omega. You can easily see the quality that has always existed as far back as the 50’s. The Constellation collection are such under the radar pieces, I love them. The 80’s ones are so iconic and the latest versions are superb value for what you get 👍

    An excellent video. One of the few videos I've watched from beginning to end.

    A great personal story to accompany a solid collection. I was crushed the first time I tried on a pie pan/dog leg Constellation. I had admired the design for so long, but the long lugs did not look good on me. Thankfully, I found a wonderful textured-dial C shape with an edged, white gold bezel. A fantastic dress watch! The original Manhattan is the only "claw" design I like, but I have no desire to own one. The various claw designs just don't resonate with me, and I suspect the market is telling us I'm not alone. These do look great on you, and make a really cool collection.

    Great video! Love the Constellation, even the modern ones, even down to the entry-level quartz ones. At the moment, they still have the more delicate (thinner?) 2010 era bracelet, which I personally really like in terms of comfort.

    Beautiful collection and nice to see some love for the Manhattan collection. I'm a big fan of the Constellation history and have a couple of 60's Connies, those really were the glory days of vintage Omega imho. I have one left on my wishlist: an early automatic Manhattan (84-85). Rare, but someday i'll find one in good condition!

    What a great video! I have a Constellation Manhattan two to e quartz from 1987 and have been told by the Onwga Boutique and Nesbits that’s it’s impossible to fix as the quartz circuit board is no longer made! So it sits broken in my collection!

      You can find these spare movements on eBay, or try to get a working version that is aesthetically less good and use that movement as a donor

    When an RJ video comes up in my notifications (too rare!), I always watch it first. Interesting, educational and enjoyable presentation. As ever. Thank you. I've been very close on a current Connie but it wears nearly as thick as my Moonwatch. Which seems wrong, especially when you look at the new-gen De Ville which uses the same movement family but is a lot thinner. Speaking of which, can you review those as no one really has?

    I have two constellations and love them! one of them has the cal. 1680 , which in my opinion is the coolest Omega movement ever made; it's a thermocompensated quartz perpetual calendar - to me it's the embodiment of what Constellation is all about: accuracy and precision.

    A great run though of the Constellation series. I have the pie pan blue dial on the leather strap that I recall was the first model to have the METAS certified Master Chronometer certification back around 2016 with the cal 8900 movement. I love the dial and the fine fluting of the tungsten carbide bezel. Mine also has the standard display case back with the medallion. If I had to sell my watches this would not be sold.

    • @FratelloMagazine
      @FratelloMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s great! I also enjoy mine a lot. The Constellation Globemaster was indeed the first to have the Master Chronometer certification (in 2015).

    Man, that's crazy that I'm born in 1977 too and still I think this collection is made exactly of the constellations I would personnaly never buy. Love the 70's integrated bracelet one's, some f300hz,the C shape, TC2, Marine chrono,the globemaster, the pie pan.
    To each is own, I guess and I'm happy that those models like the manhattan/double eagle get some love too, even though they are far from being my favorite. I don't share your taste but it's a really cool collection nevertheless.

    Just a small editorial note, a decade is 10 years. Half a decade is 5 years. I think the correct term is half a century. But that said, great video! My first Omega is my dad's Constellation from the late 90s. It is a beautiful watch and i love it compared to what they are producing now which is just so much bigger than it needs to be.

    • @FratelloMagazine
      @FratelloMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I meant half a century of course. I was doing this without notes or auto-cue, so mistakes happen a bit quicker then 😂

    Excellent video info, i got my wife a all white constellation with 11 diamonds and hybrid leather strap $12,000. I have a seamaster 300m pro with sedna gold blk dial blk rubber steap 8k. I want another the planet ocean ceramic brown color with sedna gold 39.mm only 14k. I think OMEGA offers more than just a watch without breakin ur wallet like other luxury brands.

    I remember telling Genta and the Omega leadership that watch cases should not be named after bathroom furniture. But alas, nobody listened. The Manhattan shows that history moves in mysterious ways. Let's be content that it was at least the mirror that inspired them and not any of the other appliances.

    1848 to 2023 = 175 years Omega ... That 1952 version looks better than anything brought out post-1992 🧐 Dome based on the old Geneva observatory, founded by Jacques-André Mallet, in the Old town parc de l'Observatoire, nowadays located out the old city center.

    The designer should not have stayed at the hotel where he came up with the Manhattan design. That is the only design flaw that keeps me from buying it. The design feature makes it look like a fashion watch.
