Hawkeye Fire yeah that is quite true, we do the same, short walks are normally long with us as we stop to photograph everything that looks beautiful, and this walk does have a lot of awesome spots along the way
Hi Shannon, yeah that is quite sad, since the making of this video I did see an article in the NZ Herald in 2017 that a water bottling company applied to export more than the amount of water currently being pulled from the Waikato for bottling, not sure if that is granted yet but that will surely not be good.
Omg we are going there tomorrow and this video made us so excited. It looks abselutley stunning :o Love your channel and we hope we can grow together. We deffo Subbed
Mathilda & Elias yeah as far as I know they dont want swimming there, I know seeing that water you just want to jump in, but there are signs there asking people not to swim
Yes maybe pure to sell in bottles for profit but little or none has gone back into the iwi but company pockets. So sad a statistic its happening everywhere
Hi Wyatt The hunter, that’s a bummer, I don’t have a drone yet but do think that although drone footage might be beneficial, the real magic here is under water
Good day mate, yeah that is correct, swimming is discouraged and people are asked to please refrain from swimming within the Blue Spring and surrounding area, but this is not due to degradation of the water, but due to the degradation of the vegetation surrounding the actual spring. This came about during a significant increase in people visiting here during 2015-2016 which had a significant impact on the vegetation around the spring area, here is a link to the South Waikato district council website www.southwaikato.govt.nz/our-district/sport-and-recreation/parks-and-reserves/te-waihou-walkway with information about this. On this website you will see photos/videos showing the damage and where they ask people to please refrain from swimming within the Blue Spring and surrounding area, where I "dipped" my camera was well before and after this area, not where they respectfully ask people not to swim. Ps. I found a number of TH-cam videos after we visited there of people tubing down the stream and others filming under water while swimming in the actual spring... those are the actions needing your piece of mind. Have a good day mate and thanks for watching :-)
Wow, thanks for sharing I have not heard of that place until now.
No worries Wozza, that is a beautiful place to visit, I've never seen water so clear
Excellent.
Thanks mate!
I walked this route in October this year, the bird life is also stunning, it took longer than expected to walk as we kept watching the birds.

70 percent of New Zealand bottled water no. Majority of this water is exported overseas.

Yes maybe pure to sell in bottles for profit but little or none has gone back into the iwi but company pockets. So sad a statistic its happening everywhere
Very true mate!
You are not allowed drones there
Hi Wyatt The hunter, that’s a bummer, I don’t have a drone yet but do think that although drone footage might be beneficial, the real magic here is under water
Swimming is no longer allowed to prevent the water from degradation. Wish u didn't dip you camera in the water.
