How to plan a trip, GorillaBiker style:
Set dates and main locations/goals.
Invite friends who plan things.
Wait for their anxiety to kick in and they'll plan the trip for you. 😆
Well I mean it worked perfectly didn't it :P
So far, my "trips" have been one day ventures, so no overnight planning involved. There's plenty of interest within range for that. Favourite so far is Lincs to Whitby along the coast roads, then return inland. A good chance to check out the vampires, buy some jet for my wife (a must!!!) and see where my mum trained on anti aircraft guns during the war (gun emplacement was next to the Abbey). Wish trip is Scotland west coast, my dad was born in Glasgow (the Gorbals) so loads to revisit (by bike for once). Cheers, Andy.
Nothing wrong with an auld day trip, that's mostly what I did at home, it's literally just too big over here for a lot of the places I want to go though :D
If I ever move home I must ride more around the UK. Haven't done much of it at all.
Oh that's cool, not that war is cool, but guns are :D Ah very nice, Scotland remains one of my favourite places I've ever been, hands down. Gwan and do the Scotland trip!
You're right in that sometimes you're better off setting the date and sticking to it. I am off to Donegal for a few days next week.
It's all I ever do now, and then the dates are done so if the weather changes I might just go a different direction or something. Still get a trip in :D It's also why I like to wait last minute to book accommodation. Oh nice!! I love Donegal. Enjoy!!!
I would love to get back to the smokies, there is so much incredible riding to be done out there. I think the ride of a lifetime would be across the Himalayas in India.
There is, it's such a beautiful place!! Ohhhh now that would also be incredible. Anything I've ever seen over there looks amazing on a bike.
I live in New york, my kids live in South Carolina, so doing the old smokey Blue ridge ride would be ideal, and it is on my bucket list......
You should do it! One of the guys who came with me rode down from New Hampshire :) You could do skyline drive on the way too.
A lot of ideas but the heat depresses me.🤣 May be I should plan for the rainy season and only ride when it is actually raining! Perhaps watching videos on TH-cam intimidates people as they see all the luggage and the packing, and the things going wrong. All you need is a bike, a credit card and somewhere to go. A good video again. 👍 (An aside... Are you still using Instagram ?)
Yeah July/August heat here I am not looking forward to :D Now is bad enough and it's only hitting 32. Hahaha it'd certainly help to cool you off a bit :D
I must actually show what I pack, might make people see it's not neccessary to bring the house. I see some of the setups people have, nothing wrong with it, but I try the minimum so riding the bike is still fun! Agreed! Thank you! Ahhhhhh I am but my personal phone was broken until yesterday, so I have to go catch up on....well...a lot :D
Isle of Man would be at the top of my list.
I would also like to fly over ot the states and purchase an older Moto Guzzi (they are pretty cheap over there). Ride it all ove the US and then ship it home to Australia.
If I ever make it back that way we could do the IOM together :D
That's kind of my plan with California. Buy a bike over there, see the sights and ride it back. it'd have to be something special though. You should do it! :)
Out of curiosity, what sort of Guzzi? There's a few I've seen in the past 5 years that I've regretted not going for! Often high miles, because guys really ride them, but those things seem to go forever if they're taken care of.
Ah Mr Kong how are you I said a quick hello to you in mondello a while back interesting topic I'm about to pop my cherry on a trip to Spain for the Moto GP and I'm excited and stressed at the same time maybe because I'm on my own I find myself looking for places with secure parking have to keep the SD safe 👍👍👍👍
Weeeellll! Ah class, I need to get back to a race for watching. Moto America might be easier tho. Enjoy, MotoGP is class in person. You'll be grand! Wherever you're staying just stick the bike somewhere visible to reception if you can. I always ask at hotels where the best place to put it is, sometimes they'll basically tell you to hide it around the back so people from the main road can't see it or whatever! Be grand! And enjoy!
@@TheGorillaBiker like you said I got tired of asking people who wants to go all would say yeah and then excuses so here I go 🤔🤔😂😂👍👍👍🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
I mite stick a camera on the bike and try and make some sort of vid 🤔🤔🤔 now it won't be to your quality or standard just for fun keep making the vids cheers I'll raise a pint for you later in the local ☘️🍻🍻🍻🍀
Wait? That was all planned?! 😆
Call it like, gentle planning. Subtle planning, planned so lightly no one even noticed.
Yes. The Cali bike buy would be fan. Buy a scooter.
A scooter back from Cali would be interesting 😂
@@TheGorillaBiker and welcome bake to the gorilla scooter biker. Has a ring to it.
@@hachewie it could work. Maybe it'll be my big break
@@TheGorillaBiker Hahaha. I’d watch it.
