Guys, the main purpose of this is to keep the cats from making more babies; after the cats are caught, the male cats are then neutered so they can't reproduce. I have no idea if something similar happens to female cats, but I bet something similar does happen to the female cats (If it's possible). Some of you may be thinking "But why can't the cats make more babies?", well, you seeing stray cats out on the streets and actual cat gangs, that's your answer. The more kittens there are, the more stray cats there are and that is actually a HUGE problem (rabies, dangerous to smaller pets, etc.). Any questions?

I have a confession to make I got in a huge argument with my neighbor about the feral cat colony in my neighborhood I told her the population will get out of control and she was just horrific to me she also stole all my traps and threw them away when they were set out being super pissed off I started trapping feral cats from all over and every so often I would take one of my traps to one of this ladies open windows and release the feral cat directly into her house so damn funny listening to her scream as some random cat runs around her house making a mess I’ve done this 6-7 times I think and it’s funny as hell every time yes I’m asshole and a bad person for doing this but the pay off has been worth it
It's very nice of these ladies to care about the cats and try to help them. Sometimes even feral cats can be socialized and domesticated. A friend of mine took one it. It took 4 months, but she adapted to being an indoor house pet. We also took in a feral that was one of the nicest cats we ever had once he got calmed down and acclimated to indoor life with his new family.
I mean, this video begs the question, is this really as efficient as walking up and netting the cats? Honestly you could've used a net and done this 5x as fast. Or a gun at 100x as fast ;)
Used to have a big feral cat issue here until they had a bounty put on them for a year, that fixed it quick. Although I would never normally think of doing it, I did end up taking a specific one in, he was physically an absolute mess, but extremely friendly as a cat let alone a feral one. I decided to give him a chance (feed him, and fix up his wounds, then after a bit take him to the vet for shots/fixing) and it ended up working out. He has lived here for a few years now and you would never know he was feral at one point (friendlier then my other non-feral cats, which he actually gets along with). That is a rare exception however, most of them can't be saved without causing harm to the environment and are better put down (or shot, though I am too big of a wuss to do it myself). It really is a sad thing when "companion" animals such as dogs or cats reach the point they need to be hunted, but what has to be done has to be done.

I happened upon a feral cat colony that was clearly all related the other day. All ages from adults to kittens were present and a bunch of guys in an industrial park were letting them stay in a derelict minivans and feeding them. There were at least a dozen of them, and all I could think of when I saw them was, "damn in another year this place is going to either have several dozen cats, or a lot of cats are going to starve when these people realize they can't buy enough food to feed them all." Feral cats have a very hard life even if somebody is giving them food and some kind of cover to sleep under... I know those guys think they are doing something nice but all they are really doing is enabling and prolonging a lot of suffering on the part of those cats and any wildlife that they can get their claws into.
Cover the cage you want the cats to be in, and uncover the cage you want them to leave. It's that simple. Cover the trap -- BEFORE TRAPPING. Once trapped, cover the carrier and uncover the trap. Both cats will enter the carrier and stay there, because it is covered. Unnecessary stress for the cats, especially by using sticks to poke. Keep it simple, quiet, as stress free as possible, and gentle. The free cats are ALWAYS watching your actions... AND learning. Move trapped cats away fast!

Revisiting this video again. I am surprised and appalled at so much ignorance in the replies to this act of mercy towards the cats. These are FERAL CATS in need of vaccinations, medical exams and eartipping. Eartipping is a mark to identify a healthy vaccinated cat that has been RELEASED BACK into the wild or habitat that it came from be it a warehouse, mall area, etc. Basically released back from where it was caught. Most house cats do no respond to capture like this, but FERALs do. Feral cats especially 2nd generation and forward have developed stronger muscles and BITE STRENGTH. Their bite strength can be up to 30% stronger than domestic house cats. Ask any Vet or Vet tech who has participated in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) about that bite. WHAT YOU CAN DO: Volunteer your time, knowledge or home. Neutering and spraying is usually non-existent after fixing these cats, thereby eliminating those odors from the neighborhood. I hear you and know that the spraying is offensive, but so are skunks, and I don't see anything here about the smelly skunks in neighborhoods. There is so much more I can say, but this, I hope will help many to start thinking in a different direction, different solutions, different mindset that doesn't involve a desire to kill, instant satiation, and "this is fun!" state of mind. If they are actually feral like the video says, then they're not going to be adopted out. It's is very hard to completely tame a feral cat. (Not impossible, though, cause I've done it. It's just way too to time consuming) Most likely the people are volunteers to help reduce strays and ferals by spaying/neutering cats they catch and returning them to where they were originally caught. (Or relocated if they were causing a nuisance)
it took me 3 months to tame a feral cat... and yes I didn't give up on it. You had to bring food in your hands and keep feeding them so they trust you. Also when you feed them, try to pet them gently
Sell them to your local Chinese, I get $15 a cat. Clears the problem of stray cats and the neighborhood has a good cheap meal so everyone benefits including the cat.

Eartipping is a mark to identify a healthy vaccinated cat that has been RELEASED BACK into the wild or habitat that it came from be it a warehouse, mall area, etc. Basically released back from where it was caught. Most house cats do no respond to capture like this, but FERALs do. Feral cats especially 2nd generation and forward have developed stronger muscles and BITE STRENGTH. Their bite strength can be up to 30% stronger than domestic house cats. Ask any Vet or Vet tech who has participated in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) about that bite. WHAT YOU CAN DO: Volunteer your time, knowledge or home. Neutering and spraying is usually non-existent after fixing these cats, thereby eliminating those odors from the neighborhood. I hear you and know that the spraying is offensive, but so are skunks, and I don't see anything here about the smelly skunks in neighborhoods. There is so much more I can say, but this, I hope will help many to start thinking in a different direction, different solutions, different mindset that doesn't involve a desire to kill, instant satiation, and "this is fun!" state of mind. If they are actually feral like the video says, then they're not going to be adopted out. It's is very hard to completely tame a feral cat. (Not impossible, though, cause I've done it. It's just way too to time consuming)
Most likely the people are volunteers to help reduce strays and ferals by spaying/neutering cats they catch and returning them to where they were originally caught. (Or relocated if they were causing a nuisance)
it took me 3 months to tame a feral cat... and yes I didn't give up on it. You had to bring food in your hands and keep feeding them so they trust you. Also when you feed them, try to pet them gently

Feral cats are more likely to reproduce and starve. They are unable to be domesticated, so trapping them to neuter and spay them is the best thing to do so these cats can live longer happier lives.
