Uncle Grandpa was a completey different cartoon on Cartoon Network, so this episode was a crossover. The list Uncle Grandpa had at the end of the episode listed several different characters from different shows on Cartoon Network as well, like Finn from Adventure Time, Clarence from Clarence, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and The Powerpuff Girls.
They say this episode isn't cannon but I'm pretty sure it is since Steven has better control over his shield after this

Uncle Grandpa had his own show back in the day, it's mostly him finding crazy ways to help random children around the world

He is in his on show called uncle grandpa mamy you should watch it is pretty great

1. This episode is not canon
2. Uncle Grandpa was it’s own show back then, which followed Uncle Grandpa go around and help kids with their issues in wacky round about ways. It was very goofy and fun. This was a crossover episode for it. It’s out of order cause this is supposed to be in S1 before the episode Jasper comes to Earth.
The fact previous to This episode steven only summoned his shield on rare very special occasions. Right after This episode he uses it like a pro suddenly😅
The one thing I can forgive HBO max for fucking up the episode order for this show around this point in the series. They made this the season 2 opener. This isn't the actual premiere episode btw when it was originally airing. Full Disclosure was.
Uncle Grandpa was a show on Cartoon Network that aired around the same time as Steven Universe. if you're curious, Uncle Grandpa came out first. the show was originally hated for random and weird. but nowadays, people look back on it fondly. the premise is about Uncle Grandpa, a guy who travels the world helping kids with everyday problems by taking them on crazy adventures.

Damn, still in the middle of the few episodes that are technically season 1, but whatever streaming site your on is using the tv-air order which is wrong. Sorry you have to deal with that (this episode takes place before the finale because it's literally supposed to be the 1st time Steven calls on his shield by choice before the finale where he does it to stop the hand ship blast).
