This was by far the best, most comprehensive review of storage solutions I have seen! You have given me pros and cons for literally all of the options I have been considering investing in. Thanks so much for the great content.
I like using the Harbor Freight containers. I recently bought a group of pictures that used 80 different colors. I bought some containers from Dollar tree that were 9 x 13 x 3“ that had a handle on the top. The top also came completely off. I was able to get 48 of the Harbor Freight containers in each one of the containers, so we made it very easy to work on the paintings.
Thanks for the video. I love anything that has bottles. I save my medicine bottles and use them for my drills. I always get 7 new ones every month..lol The bottles would be my favorite. Take care and Thanks
I love storage review vids! I noticed you haven’t tried the Cottage Mills dot boxes. I am with you -Elizabeth Ward are my ride or die go to for the big paintings but I really love trying different systems to change things up every now and then. I have accumulated enough Bella trays that I can kit up right in to trays nowadays. Rather pricey but so much fun for me. I had a similar experience with the rounded top bottles. I loath those things. They are so scratchy when opening and closing. The 28 “attached” now are available in individually pots which is awesome for the little paintings or specials. Great video! I am in a kit up mood today….As soon as I finish Wonderland today I will be kitting something up. Half the fun for me is deciding what system to use. I have that much storage….its a disease honestly. Can’t stop buying!
How have I never heard of the Cottage Mills??!! I will definitely be getting one to try it out - they look amazing, and so customizable! I want to get some more Bella trays as well, but I never seem to catch them before they sell out. Thanks so much for watching and sharing!!
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous on Tuesday bella is doing a tray drop. And I placed a custom order and got all my trays in one color. I have COVID you are keeping alive lol Hugs

Wowsers! So much storage!!😍🤩😍🤩 Just a thought/idea, maybe if there is any like subscriber goals or any other types of goals towards diamond painting is when you could do a giveaway? Or you could do a give away once a month or every couple of months possibly?? Maybe do giveaways with any and all of the ones you don’t like or don’t use anymore so that way you can make room for more storage that you actually like more? Thank you so so very much for this video! 😊
I am actually considering doing just that - the only hitch is that postage would probably be prohibitively expense for some of the storage, like the CraftMates, if I had to mail it outside the US. So trying to figure out what I can do to not leave out international watchers!
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous you are honestly amazingly thoughtful 😊 Maybe instead of putting things in a box or something, any chance you could wrap it into some bubble wrap and then pop it into like a bubblewrap packaging or something like that if that would be cheaper..? And maybe depending on what storage it is, could possibly put a disclaimer that if you do win with a certain type of storage, you will be asked to pay 5-10$ towards shipping or something if you feel comfortable with that? And also, maybe don’t put the word “give away” in the title of the video, as you don’t want people to only watch those ones to get stuff for free ❤️
Lol, I think I just commented about some of these storage containers on your kitting up video! I mix and match the small & large tic tac containers. I use a tiny bit of wax or putty to hold loose lids. I store the harbor freight containers on their side and you have to be careful with the drills stuck in the fold spilling when you open them. Looks like I'm going to have to get the Elizabeth Ward mixed set, lol. I have been coveting that thing. It seems pretty durable. I'm also going to get those bigger individual pots! I use the small ones for little 30x30's. For my inventory of drills I'd like an old antique index card file system to store bags of drills in... but for now I'll just add that to the fully loaded craft room I have built in my imagination, lol. Right next to the DreamBox by CreateRoom, which costs est. $2500. I would soOo love to own a DreamBox. Goals!
Oh, the putty is a great idea! Yeah, I forgot to mention that issue with the Harbor Freight. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but a definite thing to watch out for. I would also love a Dream Box - those things look amazing!!
Thanks for a great video! I loooove storage. I have a hard time even thinking about picking my favourites 😆. I know I don't like the small tic tac containers, I gave mine away to my sister-in-law. I love my others for many different reasons. I tolerate the 28 slot connected ones for doing my special drill paintings or small projects, otherwise they sit around. I love the larger tic tac containers, I take them out of the the squishy plastic case and have my Virgo from DAC kitted up in those and have them sitting on a nail polish rack, I'll put a picture I'm the Facebook group. I love finding creative ways to use my storage and often take them out of their original outer container. I also love the bottle systems in the zipper cases. 😍I just love storage snd kitting up.
Oh, interesting that you use a rack - me too! Not a nail polish one, but same concept. I don’t mind the 28 connected ones, but I prefer the individual pots so much more. But they are great for small paintings!
Very interesting video. Like you, I don’t like the bottles with the rounded lids. I also found that they don’t screw up or unscrew very smoothly. I love the other bottles with the flat lids, my very favourites and these are the only type that I use now.
Hi 👋🏽, thank you for this video. I'm still learning the ins and outs of diamond painting, your in depth review of your storage systems, help with understanding what could be used. I liked your staroar system, even though they are hard to un-attached , at least they are deep for holding large amount of drills, and it doesn't seem over time, the tops will wear out. I'm not a bottle fan at all. I have found on Amazon, the 28 squares containers that are separate, I got 6 (28) square for $16. I have the (3) harbor freights, I love them, just haven't had a painting big enough to use them lol. Stay safe and continue Blessings
Hi Anon! The modular Staroar cubes you showed are really similar to my faves which are large pill cases I picked up at the dollar store! The large pill cases have seven compartments all attached but they look like your modulars. I love that I can open up the lids and have them all displayed out in front of me for easy reaching and access. And I really like that they’re so large and deep so I can fit a lot of drills in each compartment. If you are going to be doing a giveaway with those, I’d really be interested in getting my name in on that one!
The Elizabeth ward is good too just have to have more then one tray, so you can mix to hold big amounts of drills or small. So I have two multi sizes trays to customize
I hadn’t realized you could buy just the tray, until I was looking to buy another set. Now that I have all the extra containers, a new tray would be good!
With the 60 bottle case in the clear plastic, I used some thin cardboard strips up and down so there are only two bottles in a row per strip. It helps them from moving around. There should be some groves on the sides if it's the same that I have to fit them in. Also, for the Harbor Freight I put them on their sides and stack them vertically, you can fit 27 in them that way, plus the tab is not in the way for the label. I also mix and match the larger tic tacs and smaller ones depending on how many diamonds are used.
Have been looking at the Craft Mates system to store my spare ABs. Thinking if visible, would be more likely to use. Can I ask how you store your AB, what type system? Currently I use Harbor Freight, have combine the cases into 54-57 storage (they have a 24 compartment case, remove dividers holds the HF cases). Have 4 of the Elizabeth Ward, awesome for larger multi-color designs. But my favorites are the screw top jars. Have 3 of the 60 jar zippered cases. And have gotten several of just the jars in plastic case. I put jars into the harbor freight storage containers, and some 6"x6" storage boxes from JoAnns. Love that I can put the containers into other storage units. Have 2 kitted up right now, with combo of Harbor Freight (holds more) and jars. Very informative video. 😀
I store my ABs with my regular drills, so that I know if I have ABs for a particular color. Someone else mentioned larger HF containers, I didn't know they had those. I will probably get more of the zippered 60 bottle cases as well. Being able to customize for your painting is a must for me!!
I use the 3rd type (28 4 connected) when kitting up, but I'm trying to find a storage solution for my spares. I am really interested in trying the 5th type (30 bottles in carrying case). I don't change the stickers, so that's not an issue for me. I also do smaller simpler paintings. I've only been doing it for 10 mo. I'm still trying to figure out stuff that works for me.
On XL tic tac, I had to swap tops and bottoms. Loose top on 1 bottle sometimes fits another perfectly. Same with tight ones, of course. Once I absentmindedly rotated a bottle 1/4 turn and the same top fit better when I put it back on. Think that was just random luck. Lol
Being new and not sure if this is going to be a long term thing for me I am going to grab a couple of the harbor freights. That way if I find this is not for me the hubby can use them for his stuff.
I have 3 of the Elizabeth ward systems i love them and my next favorite is the harbor freight i have 4 i have recent lear ed they have bigger than the 24 i will have to check that out but i love the elizabeth wards the best i bought on of the small ones and extra bigger ones change it out as needed cause some of my dac had smaller amounts and we all know 310 939 seem to be alot in Mandie Manzano i love her style of art
Yes, some of the artists definitely use more black than others! I didn't know HF had larger than the 24 - I'll have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
The square containers that are like the tic tac containers. Don’t see the problem with putting drills back into the containers……just remove the lid (use a funnel if necessary) and pour the drills back in the container. Problem solved! The Elizabeth Ward containers are very “fiddly” in my opinion….. more difficult to open. Definitely not my favorite. Good to use spare drill, that’s it for me. But we are all different and have our own opinions.
If I had thought of using a funnel, I would have! 😂 I like the EW because of the customization - I often do large kits with large numbers of colors or large numbers of a color, or both, so I like EW for that. But exactly - use what YOU are comfortable with - you should enjoy your diamond painting!
