As a once local lad, I had it from my grandparents, who lived here through the war, that the tank targets were suspended on moving cables, like billboard profiles of vehicles etc, and drawn from each redoubt to the other - as you say - for tank gunnery practice. Affirmative to coppraliths from Boyton dock too. There is also a massive 'hoo' like hill feature in the near proximity. Kind Regards.

Hi, great entertaining videos! For the record, I use a Hawkeye depth sounder for navigation around the river Swale, Medway and Thames estuary. It's so reliable. Still have a lead line in the bilges, just in case though! Keep doing what you do..
Iv been watching your videos for years and have loved them. I sail a little Hurley 22 twin keel out of gosport, one day I might have enough money to go round Britain myself... Fair play for your efforts! When I am down and I have have a hard week I spend an hour or two watching your videos and it makes me feel better :) I saw that you have sold your westerly... Are you going to keep on sailing around Britain? If so what in? P.s if I ever won the pools I would make sure you could sail and make videos for us lot till the end of your days... Regard Phil

I do tend to use my gear in fairly aggressive conditions - stuff made for northern europe seems to be able to deal with the relentless damp.
