    Definitely the 80's is the pinnacle of cars.

    Just subscribed 😊 Always loved these cars. Their foibles just add to their charm 👍

    The foot pedals are supposedly really tough to use because they are really close together.

    So sad to see that car in such horrible condition. :(
    Also I'm not sure that it's an '81.

      Built in 1981, so probably a 1982 model :)

    Looks like fun! How common are those in Japan? In America they're rather hard to find, though I've heard Lotus was more popular in Japan.

    ah, to be 12 again :) we drove a 2cv in the UK (wrong side of the road of course) and as luck would have it, we had a nice L on it (L=learner) which we indeed were. :)

    Damn that Esprit looked to be in terrible shape

      Yes... it's basically a barn find. Abandoned for many years. It actually only had 17000km on the clock when I drove it!

      The bonnet latch was broken on that car, so no, it wasn't closed when I filmed... It opens from under the windshield though, so it can't open itself when I drive.

      Dear god, I'm amazed the car survived.
      I've watched it again and still terrible driving.
      Judging by the amount of negative comments plenty on here agree with me.
      33, you must be so proud hahaha, after many years driving you're still shit at it, you should give up now!!!!

    The driver looked 12, and unfortunately couldn't drive the car for shit, riding the clutch, free wheeling and screaming the engine in 1st gear whilst the engine is still cold. Along with the fact that the bonnet wasn't latched down properly, its a pretty poor do.

    • @traxnada
      @traxnada  7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Antony Maddox lol, hello Mr know-it-all. The driver is 33 years old, but thanks. The bonnet was left open for a reason: it took 30 minutes to open it the first time as the opening mechanism was broken. Also the car is not parked year long at the cemetery where the video starts, it was driven there so the engine was not cold. The clutch was ridden on a couple heel and toes indeed. It survived, don't worry... Driving fast-ishly in a car that you don't know tend to do that from time to time... And yes, that one time I accelerated in first gear was fun! Sorry if you don't enjoy it :)
      Anyway how's your Lotus Esprit going? Please show me how your driving of a car that has been sitting for 15 years is, you know, so that I can learn from the infamous Antony Maddox lol

      NO!, great car however you are a rubbish driver. get over it. get some bloody skills. yes i have videos holding a camera driving manual shift. i am bollucks and i know it.

    • @traxnada
      @traxnada  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      lol thx champ, now you go drive a Lotus that was abandonned for 15 years then come back talk again. As you can see with other videos I've uploaded, I litteraly drive cars for a living, so don't worry too much about me :)

    • @ericharms4872

      @@VinnieNiZero @VinnieNiZero In the driver's defense, these cars are more difficult to drive than your Japanese import. Regardless of the driver's skills, his skills, bad as they may or may not be, are far more useful than your knife / baton twirling. And if you really want to be "bollucks," which by the way is not an adjective, start with learning to spell. "bollocks."

    • @VinnieNiZero
      @VinnieNiZero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericharms4872 you drive well, mind the stop signs. it appears you have slicker skills than the op, however japanese import is quite racist. ive never met a car person that has actually cared where the car is manufactured. add more videos of you driving as well. oh yeah theres a boxster video that i didnt edit ;)
