The Apollo hired Steve Harvey to be the regular host after this. Steve was the host for 8 years. Longer than any other host. I used to watch the show all the time.
I don’t know why I got so emotional watching this. He really feels like an uncle to me. I listen to him every weekday morning. And to see where he came from to where he is now. Lawd have mercy!!
This is inspiration.. This is Steve Harvey's first tv appearance and at the time he was 35 and homeless and look where he is today!! Praise god!! God can always spin the block for you at anytime if you're truly a good person!
Here from the Club Shay Shay interview ❤ Seeing how confident he appears, you would never know he was going through what he was going through at the time. I see a bunch of comments saying it’s not funny and that’s understandable because I’ve seen a few comedy shows from the 80’s/early 90’s that’s not funny to me because some things you just have to know about to understand. I recently went to a comedy show and this one dude’s whole set was about cartoons and shows that used to come on in the 90s. Unless you knew those shows, none of it would’ve been funny. But for those of us that knew, we were in tears laughing so hard 😂
Same! I'm here to examine his hair. And I can tell he was definitely going bald in the middle here! I know after this, he started investing in those man units!💁🏾♀️
And Jamie Fox got Booed Off The Show This Same Night...jus goes to Show...Never Give Up...Jamie Fox is So Successful (Now) and im gon be successful too...now boo!!
Absolutely Jamie Fox and Steve Harvey are my biggest show business inspirations😀 almost like my entertainment muses I would be elated and honored to have my career mimic theirs
And to think that this was the beginning of it all. He was made for this. Steve keep get’n yo’ flowers cuz you’ve earned them all. Much love & The Lord’s Blessings💜
Catching up on 2024. I watch Club Shay Shay when Steve Harvey was first on.. He said he had a standing ovation, Nope!!! Especially with the Mike Tyson / Mitch green joke at the Apollo theater,The joke at the time was funny😂… But definitely there was no standing ovation… 🤦🏽♀️ 😫😳
@@Beignetboy yes he did all through the Steve Harvey show! He finally came out the hair closet later on. Took him awhile to be comfortable rocking a baldy
I just heard the other day that Steve was homeless for a week. He’s led us to believe he was homeless for years. Doesn’t matter how long, I just find it odd that many people in better places started off homeless at some point.
I'm here after the club Shay Shay and i have to admit Steve was decent at stand up. I still like Kat but i feel Steve worked hard to be were he is today.
Keep in mind, Steve was 34 here, Its never too late for you

True, I clicked on this video so fast cos I've been looking forward to seeing how he got his big break.
Dude went in front of a notoriously hostile crowd with a chance to shoot his shot and killed it. Nothing but respect.
THE STORY OF HIM JUST GETTING TO THE APOLO WILL MAKE YOU CRY 🔥🐐.
He went from being homeless to doing something that he loves. It doesn't matter where you start. It matters how you finish.
🙏🏿💡

This is the segment and joke that put them on TV for life
Had to come check this out after going to Club Shay Shay!!!
It crazy to think that he was homeless with no money at this point, just trying to make it. Awesome story of rags to riches.
A moment to remember, and turning point for Harvey.

This is beautiful to see so inspiring he was homeless during this time she look at him now ..!! Super Rich
He was going bald then! Lol
I just seen the Shannon Sharpe interview with Steve Harvey & he mention Mike Tyson joke in the interview killing it
Hearing the back story of how he got to this soecific stage performance is inspiring. Watch Shannon Sharpe interview with him if you havent seen it.
Him and Martin have to have the funniest gestures.
