I have seen so many tributes to Chester and what amazes me is how Chester trenscended in the music world. Not only does he get tributes from rock bands, hip hop artists but also with the world's top djs in tomorrowland. Shows how far Chester's voice has gone throughout the world. Rip Chester! Forever we love you.
I don't want to seem smart, because I am just as amazed as you are, by the love and support shown in the death of Chester, by all these artists. Believe me when I say this, I watched every single video of every single tribute.
But I think it has something to do with the demographic, Chester and Linkin Park made music for almost two decades, Hybrid Theory came out when a lot of millennials (like Markus for example) was going through a hard period in their teenage years. An HT was a huge album for a lot of people and a first introduction into what music actually is.
Of course older artists may not have been affected in the same way, as they were over this period, but the popularity has still shown and I think a lot of artists recognize that and respect it.

Other than those genres you mentioned there are also tributes by various classical ensembles and 2 of the biggest Jazz and music theory channels on youtube Rick Beato and Aimee Nolte. The most amazing of all is What I've Done and Numb being played on the set of antique church bells at Domtoren of Utrecht.
Linkin Park has amazing reach. It has something for everyone no matter what you're into.
ThatRandomGuy Chester Bennington was the singer of one the most succesful band of the 00's and Linkin park is still succesful in 2017. So yeah he had a lot of influence on a lot of people, and that's something special. Nobody said he was the only one who was special in that way, but saying that he wasn't special is just untrue.

As a very active festival-goer, I can personally say that Linkin Park's music was played several times at multiple festivals, long before Cheter's passing... The impact that Chester and LP has on the music industry is insane when you look at the big picture. Chester will always be remembered by all.

2023 just now seeing this after the release of lost I remember the day I was told in a Dr office battling anxiety ptsd I use to sing his songs all the time to hear of his loss was very hard to deal with his music has kept me alive to this day...
chesters death taught me how people are more respected when dead. sad but true. as a kid i was tormented for the music i listened too, same kids posting rip to him on social media. people should learn to respect regardless!

Ive watched this clip many times and ive noticed two things. In the age of cell phones and video capturing the moment when Markus dropped this virtually no one had their cell phones out which shows the respect most people do have even being overseas where not everyone speaks English as their first language but understands it. Which brings me to me last point of how many people cherish this song and know the words and relate to it so much. I was 13 and remember my cousin coming over and showing me the new CD he got which was called "Hybrid Theory ". Well we seen the music video on Much Music here in Canada and we had to download it which took about 3 hours with the 28.8 k dial up modem we had. Moral of this long story... 20 years later and I remember my first Linkin Park memory/experience like it was yesterday. RIP Chester

The best way I can explain it, with LP being arguably the biggest band of the millennium, touching so many souls and hearts, is that all of the previous legendary artists who've passed, think of them as the older sibling and think of Chester as the younger sibling. Both extremely sad, but there's just something about a young sibling dying that's just heartshattering.
a lot of 90s kids (i am a 1990 born) are more melodramatic than the older generation and get hit harder by their era of star's deaths. Thats my theory anyway.

And i fancied him too and loved singing along to them. They werereally only one of teo bands in that genre that i liked, Evanescence too. And he was just taken too young. But my partner died at 34 years old, some ppl do die young. Celebs just in the media all the time its relevant. I didn't even know him, he could have walked past me in the street and i wouldn't have had a clue. But no one was posting those videos before they died. CB was suffering from ptsd and depression due to abuse as a kid.even tho he became a superstar and an icon of an music genre ,a dad,had a wife.. in his head he was always carrying his scars. he might have gotten lots of meds but they only numb the pain. he should have seen a shaman who does psykedelics like dmt,ayauasa.even a proper mushroom trip could have healed his toretured soul. ive had my bouts with ptsd and depression. taking a trip on pcilocybin mushrooms every 6 months keeps me healthy and in contact with my true self,where I feel one with God ! :D
