Sabash!!!.Combination of melodious vocal chords and clarion Namaskaram. He stands tall and stately in pantheon of music dynasty. One of my favorite classicist. RANGA from Durban south Africa.
Sahaana' an Ubhaya-Vakra sampoorna ragam, in which both ascent and descent follow a zig zag pattern. The notes in ascending and descending scale do not follow a strict progression. Despite a sampoorna ragam n have all 7 notes, with the vakra scale it is not considered a melakarta n classified as a rakti raga (raga with high melodic content). Thus it is considered as a janya ragam (derived scale) associated with the 28th Melakarta rāgam Harikambhoji. For info. Sahana was used for a composition by Dr.BMK too....its "Kavave Kanyakumari nive gativamma sukumari".... Here the maestro GNB sang the Thyagaraja kriti- "Ee vasudha nee vanti daivamu" . Loved the Vinyaasam @ Anupallavi..."bhavukamu galgi vardhillu KOVURI Sundaresha GirIsha" .and the chittasworam after Anupallavi as well as Charanam. GNB's eloquence and melody are unique, sand just like that almost like Dr.BMK's recital.Pranams to the great soul....

While its a great voice, its complete butchering of telugu words to mean something else or even nonsensical in many instances. :(
