Exactly this. They’ve been doing major work honing their blend of r&b and rap, and this song feels like the next evolution of their direction. It’s so perfect for them, I get goosebumps every time. I particularly adore that they leaned hard into the jazzier intro hook with that plucked string. It’s hot!

It's solely the vocal line singing covers, including several rnb songs I forgot to also mention that they toured the US last month for their first ever world tour The First Howl where they did sold out shows in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Grand Prairie, Sugarland, Duluth, New York City and Chicago. So if you wanna see more of their live stuff just look for XG First Howl (*insert the American city). The reason they're not more mainstream yet is because they're not signed with a big label in Asia which other Asian groups are that you hear on radio in the US. because they have a tie or also signed to a Geffen, Warner or Universal for example.

They are Amazing! These girls just flow together so well, rappers and singers. The 4 rappers each have their own distinct rapping styles which sets them aside from one another but yet they transition from one style to the other so effortlessly. Can't get enough of XG. THEY ARE 🔥.

I personally didn’t pick up on any horror references, outside of just setting the mood using [as you said] a black and white setting with darker imaging. (The glow and slightly tan coloring that is on those b&w scenes add something cool to it. Kinda modern.) So I’d love to see someone who is an even bigger horror fan than myself react to this - see if they notice any specific references.
