Is it true, that, as I was told, the German Taurus rockets can navigate themselves into their aim by exploiting maps that have been prepared for them? So, they don‘t need GPS signals to strike a target.
Essentially no. It has gps location, ground radar height and mapping, carmentia (proprietary prepared) mapping. These are all tied into a single nav unit used to navigate to target zone area and then to the actual target point. The inertial nav system is the primary nav utilising mapping, radar and GPS to maintain nav track and target point location
@ As you say, “essentially no“, I conclude, that you actually don‘t know. Certainly the Taurus have the ability of GPS based navigation. However, that does not rule out for them to have the ability to navigate with maps. By the way, when cruise missiles became first well known in Germany, in the 1980ies, they all were using map based navigation. It is therefore not far fetched to think, that the Germans still can use that otherwise obsolete technology, which, however, might have become somewhat more popular now, since there ability to avoid communication with satellites or aircraft makes them more difficult to detect and eliminate.

Sorry, but Dr Doctorow's voice comes out quite indistinct. Some other time perhaps ?
@@troiscarottes maybe, but it's hard to comeup with a distinct point of view after days of all pundits chewing on the same meat
This is a fairly stupid discussion. Russia is winning the war by a mile and a half, so why talk about Russia having to use nukes against Ukraine? That's not going to happen. Russia has many, many excellent conventional weapons. This Dima guy is very uninformed. The other day he talked about the millions of immigrants coming to America for jobs - no, most Americans are well aware that the recent invaders are not here for 'jobs'. Many of them are flown or bused here then stuffed in hotels with meals and funding - they were never intended to be workers but to serve various other political roles. Note to Dima - ask better and informed questions!
Exactly. The prospect of Russia using a nuclear weapon on Kyiv is ridiculous. For what? It is only pro-Isreali western governments that are hell bent on targeting civilians.
@@stephenromey6348 pay more attention. Listen to a few shows, you'll see he does. Maybe this one wasn't the best one to start with, I agree. Nima is the name, he's Brazilian of Iranian descent, not Russian.
@@porcudraculuithis guy is a fruitloop he is never going to appreciate any show here, it doesn't suit his right wing agenda.
Why don't you do some interviews and post them for us as an example of how you can do it better?
@@porcudracului I did not say he is Russian. I know he is Brazilian - been there many times.
Gilbert talks like a double agent for CIA and zionism.
It's useful to get the CIA spiked perspective.
I've never heard him say anything that sounds even remotely zionist.
Don’t be absurd
Are you trying to be funny?
give examples, that is a serious accusation.
There is no Legacy for corn pop wannabee....stop saying it...😂
How awful that the Russian government has had their feelings hurt.
You’re a simpleton. If you have a brain you would know how the West has been undermining Russia for decades. This is over.
Go back to the front, Ukie. No more welfare payments for you. LOL
You're definitely nuts. Do you understand the consequences?
