    I am fascinated by the choices you and Carol have made. By going to Scotland and visiting a castle, going through the old districts. I found it funny when you said it was 3 degrees outside, welcome to my world as it gets colder then that. It was such a lovely place to visit. I was just awe struck. I have missed you both very much. My health was not doing so well, but I am watching and dealing with depression makes it hard to enjoy much. Lanette and I still rank you both #1 in our book and am impressed. You went from one end of the world to the other, in a short period of time, kind of lost me. prayers to you both Chris and Carol.

      @@duggio666 Hey man. I live in Edinburgh and would definitely recommend you come. If you want some local information, there's a few things I can add to the video...
      1) There is a huge festival in August for all types of culture (music, theatre, art), which you may enjoy, but it is also very busy during those times.
      2) Try to climb Arthur's Seat (the tallest hill in the city), which should take less than an hour to get up, as it's not as big as it looks. The view from up there is stunning.
      3) Finally, I recommend you walk around the New Town. The video mainly focused on the really old part of Edinburgh, but the slightly newer, Victorian streets and parks are so elegant, and usually quite quiet.

My vision is to spend a week or two exploring the city and the immediate surrounding, especially the walkable surroundings. I thoroughly enjoy exploring cities on foot, meeting locals, and returning to the same restaurants and such several times to get a sense of the heart of the city. Edinburgh looks stunning. What time of year is the best to visit, weathwise?

    • @johnhall1962

We get quite an 'early summer' and people always complain when it rains in August 😂. But honestly, the weather really isn't too bad, it's 12° and sunny right now.

    Loved the video… reminded us of our trip to Scotland with our Scottish friends. But… have to know… where did Carol get the coat? She didn’t have that in her backpack, did she?

    The Tenements in Edinburgh were set up in a perticular way, the moneyd would be on the lowere levels, the top floors would be for weavers glove makers etc. This was the top levels got moor light, but chucking piss out the window is what happend.
    The New Town is stunning mainly Georgan, absoulutly worth a visit and Dean village (in the city).
    We do a one oclock gun because were Scottish a 12 oclock gun would be to expencive.

    The cream -coloured buildings left -of-frame at 12:21 are ( made official by the WHO ) the world's first skyscrapers. They are 11-storeys in height. However , x-amount is below ground - along with Edinburgh Old Town. And if you want to hear/ read about a real horror story, then check-out the story behind the subterranean streets and lanes of the Old Town.....

    4:45 -> Those cobblestones have had centuries of history pass over them....
    5:03 -> OMG!!! You are in Edinburgh and just walked right past Old Town Whiskey......and the door was open too...
    11:43/11:50 -> Looks like 2 Wisteria vines....
    14:14 -> He BE a Sergeant.....and 14:24 he just missed the airplane.....
    18:14 -> Nice!! ...very cool.....matches the atmosphere of the city....medieval....
    26:28 -> !LOL! 'I don't usually go to cemeteries.' ...I don't know why that is SO funny....I just started laughing....sounds like the punch line to a good joke....

    Well done mate👏👏👍. Speaking as a local, you managed to capture many parts of the city which I would have recommended to tourists. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

    Hey superman changes inside one of those booths. 😁 Love those red telephone boxes. They turned one into a flower box over in Bath when I visited. 😉

    WOW, awesome vid. I just love these historical types of places, amazing Castel. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. Even in Canada, you hear the pipes at some events seen it many times, lol, and very cool to see. We did a cemetery tour in New Orleans N. We thought it was odd but seen it as a suggestion online, and it was very cool to see all the old tombs. Not something you would normally see. The best part was it was not overly crowded with tourists, lol. Bro, what kind of drone are you using, please ? Thank you

    4:34 had me dead ahahahah. I was surprised when you said you hadn't heard bagpipes before though if your from Manchester. Every northern city always has one bagpipe guy randomly at one time in the city ahaha. Im from Leeds and there's quite often a bagpipe player in the city at random occasions. Loved the video as always tho guys. Hope you and Carol are doing well!! Love from the UK to Brasil to wherever you are reading this comment :)

    Great video. Really enjoyed it. As a side note, the pub you chose to have lunch in also has an infamous story attached to it. Albeit a more modern one.
