Gluteal injection, buttock injection or Glute injection is common but it can injure the sciatic nerve.
INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION OF THE BUTTOCK SHOULD BE SAFE.
Glute (buttock) injection is a universal procedure that is commonly used around the world.
The injection has to be safe.
Selecting the proper site that avoids injury to the neurovascular structures is important.
The sciatic nerve could be at risk for the injury during buttock injection.
Buttock is divided into quadrants.
Divide the buttock halfway down the middle and halfway across.
Injection is given in the center of the upper, outer quadrant.
Injection into the other quadrants may cause injury to the neurovascular structures.
Another helpful method could confirm a safe site for injection is to draw a line from the posterior superior edge of the iliac spine to the greater trochanter.
The area above the line is considered to be the safe zone for intramuscular injection.
This corresponds with the upper outer quadrant of the buttock and is the exact safe site for the buttock injection.

hey question for you, what sites did you rotate between? I’ve been doing the left and right quad and after 12 weeks, the plunger feels impossible to push down and hurts quite a bit while injecting.

@@1Dee333 it was my uncle's testosterone shot. He said he felt like the medication still got into his system. He had no lump or other complication. I am just very careful after that. Not that I wasn't before but 🤷♀️
I also want to add that he is on blood thinners and that is probably one of the reasons why that happened also

What is the best needle size for testosterone injections? I was prescribed a1-1/2” 23 gauge which seemed way to small for the serum to flow thru and the 18 gauge was painfully large. I settled on a 1” 21 gauge thru trial and error but don’t know if it’s what I should be using.
23 is fine homie, you don’t want the test to flow out too quickly, push the plunger in over about 10 seconds and you’ll be right as rain
Smaller the needle (higher the G/Gauge number), the better. Less scar tissue over time. I'd minimum use a 25G though I personally use Insulin needles around 29/30G. Take longer to draw and inject but are virtually painless (some you literally cant even feel) and again, less scar tissue build-up

I got one after I caught laryngitis. The pain spreads from the initial injection site for a couple of seconds. After that, you may experience some twitching in your buttock.

Serious question, please help: The location of the injection spot is clear, but not the direction/vector of syringe/needle. Is the direction of the siringe/needle shown in this video appropriate? As I see it, it's pointing a bit to the left side to the center mass of the muscle and therefore perpendicular to the muscle surface at the injection spot, but therefore pointing a bit in the direction of the upper INNER quadrant (!) - is that okay? Or shout the siringe/needle point strictly forward/not to the left/not perpenicular to the surface of the muscle at the injection spot? From my feeling I would point it perpenicular to the muscle an therefore a bit to the left because there is more muscle mass but I am afraid that I might hurt my sciatic nerve.

always 90 degrees, its for stability also so the length of the needle matches perfectly to its intended layer from skin, to muscle
