Today I go over how to install Q's New Trigger into the Honey Badger SD. While I'm installing it into the HBSD, it will fit into any Mil-Spec AR-15 or AR-10 lower receiver.

I'm most impressed with the smoothness and lack of audible noise from that charge handle
Its a radian raptor-HD which AFAIK is just a clear anodized SD.,
I believe a major sound reduction component is the lack of a traditional spring and buffer scraping against the metal buffer tube.
@@MordecaiSoup7 yep. My AR with a Radian Raptor and a JP Silent Capture is smooth.
@@MordecaiSoup7 I think Geissele also makes a braided wire spring that out lasts a Mil-Spec spring by hundreds of thousands of strokes, and is also very quiet in the tube. Military arms channel had also pointed out milspec tubes often have machine marks that contribute to that sound. I swapped a PSA tube with a BCM tube and got reduced noise.
JP buffer spring seems like a waste of money. The buffer spring is not a part that wears out that much. If it does, you can replace it for $5. I guess if you want to go for noise reduction or cool factor, that’s fine.
I too always swap my triggers in the wild. I once used a porcupine quill for a trigger pin when I dropped it down a yeti hole. Damn snipes jammed my stock trigger. Glad I carried a spare.
Hope the sarcasm was obvious. Love the video, locations, and content. That is some really short travel overall, not just the reset.
The sound of the charging handle racking was buttery smooth!
It honestly sounded like an airsoft gun. That's not a bad thing though, its actual kina cool
Maybe it's a np3 coated raptor? Or is it from the badger's recoil system?
@@tizben might be a combination, the Honey Badger's unique recoil system may help with that.
melted butter.. omg
Very great video. Out in the wild w no work bench , 15 degrees, voice cadence smooth as butter. Kudos.
I loose small parts in my shop, on my bench, but here is Ivan doing swaps in the field. #flex
Just a little tip. You can keep the grip on the lower. I usually keep about 5 threads worth left and pull the grip down enough to take the pressure off the spring then you can pull the selector out. Saves a little time
Ivan...I enjoy your humor, e.g., "Someone shuda cleaned that."
"Perfect, nailed it" lol used his finger and glove to clean it out. Too funny!
“Fingerblast” would be a good name for that Q trigger.
fingerblast my porksword.
I love the setting to swap out the trigger. My stress level was climbing by the minute-I’m like NO- NO-NO your gonna lose 1/2 that crap in the grass. LOL. Really can’t wait to see what you think of this trigger compared to the Geissele over time. Thank you posting this!!
The most excited I’ve ever been for a trigger... just love Q.... Period!
I'm interested how it compares to the gold standard geissele SDC
This entire video is a flex showing that you have the dexterity to swap triggers in the wild.
The amount of c.o.jones it takes to change a trigger is the wild is incomprehensible.....Bravo !!!
Can't decide if i would do the installation out in the wilderness or in a clean room.
Being picturesque counts for hell of a lot.
Man that action sounds so much smoother than anything I've heard
Your Honey Badger is FILTHY and I LOVE it!
Haha I love that you did is in the woods. There’s a 1,000% chance I’d love a spring doing it this way. 😂
i like how he does most of his content outdoors actually nice
Fix it sticks. He did a review a while back.
Only you would do a trigger swap in the field, in the grass, wearing gloves, with the weather in the teens. I am impressed by the sheer he maness of it all. It does seem like a great trigger though.
I want one so bad for my SW. And one day in my HBSD when I can afford one. Thanks for all the Q content Ivan!!!
Hey buddy, any idea when they are going to be available to buy by chance?
Doing that amongst the pine needles was bonkers mate, great work lol
And hey, you've invented a new hobby, remote location gun smithing!!😀👍
The reset is nice and short. Great video!
I love the bold strategy of doing this in the woods, not my go to, but I love it. Thanks for the content, and I love my professional human hoodie!
that looks like a great trigger.
I'm still partial to my Honey Badger's ATC Gold trigger but these look like a nice option as well.
Awesome vid, thanks Ivan
Thanks for the how-to brother 🤜🤛
i'm trying to imagine a world where you would want to replace a nice geissele trigger for something else lol
Q trying to capture some more $$ by not outsourcing the trigger - looks identical to the mini fix and fix trigger, wonder if it feels the same
"someone, should, OBVIOUSLY, clean that." lol
Natural workbench! Nice!
Incredibly informative video good Sir!! Amazing vid and job as always!!
Thought you were moving off these platforms Ivan? Just IG?
Where did you get that gray shield around the handguard ???
Kit Badger, any modifications done to the charging handle/spring/buffer set up to make it that quiet ?
Ivan,
I enjoyed the vid. If you can, I'd really like to see a deep dive video on the trigger itself, looks like it has interesting mechanics. Nothing quite like anything else on the market (at least nothing that comes to mind), although I suppose that's Q's style.
Awesome video!! I am really curious to know when Q plans on releasing this guy! But just for giggles wanna sell me your old giessele trigger? 😅
That lower is awesome
Such a satisfying sound
Hard to justify buying the new Q trigger (expensive for sure) to replace a Geissele, when the rifle functions flawless as is. I think the main point of Q designing their own trigger system is so they can meet the demands for the Honey Badger. Last I heard there are literally thousands of HB on back order. If that’s true, these new triggers won’t be available “a la carte” for awhile I’m sure.
Any plans to do a video on the new big bolt handle for the fix? Comparison video told old one?
Great video, as always, but I have just one question: wouldn't have been easuer and better doing on a table and not out in the wild? 😂. Jokes aside, I really like your reviews, keep up the great work 💪
Hey Ivan what is that rail wrap you have on the SD? It looks like a burn proof gear wrap but it looks way more tight and it's also slanted. I want one for my SD.
I’d love to know as well I’d definitely put one on my Honey Badger SD
@@cole7113 I found it, it's sold by wisemencompany.com called the hotpocket railwrap. They make a larger version for bigger rails called the SD version.
Is the wrap that’s around the hand guard part of the foregrip? What is it, I want one.
Thanks for actually showing how to do it without freaking out over TH-cams stupid shit guidelines. 👍
Looks mighty fine
So calm..always..love ya ivan..
The Geissle is pretty nice. How much better could the Q trigger be??
Looks super nice!
Does the Q trigger / trigger pins seam like they would be compatible with the KP15 lower?
Hey Ivan, Great Video! Cant wait to get one of these in my honey badger. I see you are running the Lunar Concepts rail wrap, how does it compare to the Burn Proof Gear? debating which to order. Thanks!!!
Wow, I want one, thanks
Who makes that rail heat shield? That SD 🦄
What wrap is that on your handguard?
My man said F*ck a workbench 😂
Can you drop the link so we can find this on the Q website? I can’t find it…
What kind of tool kit do you have??
I will never know bravery like taking out safety selector detents in the middle of nowhere over grass.
I’d like to know more about your field tool kit your using I really like that setup
He as this video: th-cam.com/video/gi3fYfK2NEs/w-d-xo.html
Will this work in an mcx
Finger blaster was my nickname in high school
Awesome! Love your videos!
Question: are antiwalk pins required for a cassette style drop in trigger
Depends on the unit, this trigger has springs to retain the pins.
Not for this no. The straight bar spring retains the pins in the receiver
@@armchairpretengineer are there types of triggers where anti walk pins are required though ? I heard someone say anti walk pins are not needed ever. It is a marketing scheme
@@l337l0gan there are certainly poorly designed trigger systems where pins will walk out. It is not a marketing gimmick, but it is just a bandaid for a bad product.
@@armchairpretengineer thanks for your input!
Is this the same trigger you showed us a long time ago? I can’t remember... I’d never switch from a Geiselle.
The reset sounds just like AR Gold.. (( Almost None ))
Thanks for the preview Ivan
Who makes that little tool kit man?
So I’m guessing it’s a 2 stage? That’s a lot of take up for that first stage.
We’re can I get that tool bag with the tools?
Fix it sticks. He may have a link or you can probably find them at Brownells.
We need to get you a backpacking table or plastic tray.
Q isn’t going to miss out on the chance to call this the finger bang
Sweet!
New q trigger vs the ar gold one?
Yea, I want to see this comparo
so , what are you doing with that Giessele trigger? :0)
How about calling it "boom switch"?🤔
Safe to assume this will work in my SugarWeasel?
Yes. It will work in any standard mil-spec receiver
What rail wrap is that?
Hot Pocket made by Lunar Concepts but sold only at Wisemencompany
I have a couple. Love them.
wtf is a workbench?
I am in favor for “finger blaster”.
🔥
good lord Ivan where can I send you a can of gun cleaner for Christmas
Nyet cyka
Is it pasabol to attach a foldabol but stock to the hunny bager
No it is not because of the buffer system.
I was like that looks like a great tool kit then looked it up wtf 280-$416 🤯 not gonna happen
Cool
Trigger will still function if you do the install in your house . I promise.
Putting it to work. She’s dirty.
Comment for the rithm
So... cool trigger.... coast to coast tour 2???????????
That Reset... Extremely short, and extremely quiet reset, no tactile feel, just like the ATC Gold Trigger. Don’t have any hands on experience obviously... but this just appears to be a Q version of an ATC Gold Trigger lmao. Just a silver one. And it’ll prob cost $300+.
Except you don't have to file ours down to fit in a receiver, and it has no trigger slap... Among all the other differences.
maybe you can shoot better than 2 moa now
Outside in the grass! I cant watch
Not trying to be a dink, KB... but...why? Why put a precision trigger on a chopper with a red dot sight? Am I missing something?
“Finger Bang”
Mil-spec forever, lol
