- We visited the little Welsh town of Trevelin set at the foot of the mountains in Patagonia, Argentina.
This is a place that we first visited on a day trip a few years back, but we left feeling like we had barely scratched the surface with one day there. So we knew we wanted to come back and revisit!
So in today’s video, we’ll be doing precisely that and sharing with you a few different things you can do in and around Trevelin.
Together, we’ll visit one of the southernmost vineyards in the world, we’ll explore a new-to-us corner of Los Alerces National Park and its giant hydroelectric dam, we’ll hike to waterfalls, go in search of fire-breathing dragons, plus we’ll also take you on some fun foodie adventures.

I've missed your travel videos, especially the emphasis on great food. Based on your past videos I spent 3 months in Argentina last year. Salta, Cafayate, Tilcara, Alta Gracia, and Villa Carlos Paz. Planned to stay a lot longer and just pay the overstay fine, but my 84 yr old dad developed heart problems so went home. Hope to eventually get back down there. Have been accumulating camp gear to take advantage of all the affordable campgrounds everywhere. Enjoyed traveling to a bunch of countries in recent years but Argentina is the one that makes me want to come back. And stay!

The history of the Welsh settlers is quite extraordinary. And there were indigenes around when they arrived. Bruce Chatwin wrote beautifully about them.

Thank you guys for this beatiful video about Trevelyn and its surrounding magnific landscape. If you like to consider a trip on the Patagonian Atlantic Coast, there you'll find another three welsh cities: Rawson, Trelew and Gaiman. Princess Diana visited those places when she came to Argentina many years ago. And of course, you have very near access from there to the penguin and sea lyons colonies on Península Valdés. Godspeed !!
Thanks for watching. Yes, we actually did a big trip along coastal Patagonia back in 2019 and loved it! We split our time between Puerto Madryn and Península Valdés and then continued down to Trelew, Gaiman, Dolavon - we hit up as many Welsh communities as we could. A fascinating history, for sure!

AND I forgot I enjoyed the options of vegetarian meal at the beginning (thank you)I don’t think you did it on purpose but for once something I could eat!! 😉 I kind worry about what our options would be as a vegetarian family since we know Argentines love their meat. 😬That could be interesting… I’m due to visit maybe I need to vlog as a vegetarian visitor what are the options 🤔 food for thoughts 💭

Trevelin is very beautiful. A part of Wales in Argentina. The Welsh populated those lands when no one dared to do so, due to the attack of the Indians. Thanks for this wonderful video.
While the welsh settlements are a significant part of the history of towns likes Trevelin, the complete disregard for the native Mapuche communities that have lived in these areas for thousands of years shows a wilful lack of understanding. The town of Trevelin would not have been founded or survived without people of Welsh, Chilean and Mapuche heritage.

7:24 it almost never rains here, everything always floods because basically nothing in the town was made with such pouring in mind. You were so unlucky (or lucky, if you actually enjoy rain) to come here near in this season

Yes, it was an amazing vegetarian meal! The gnocchi wasn't stuffed with anything - they were just that plump. So good!! 😊
When Audrey speaks Spanish, it sounds like music to me. I speak 3 languages myself and I understand how important it is to have someone around to help you learn the language. If Sam has the opportunity, why doesn't he speak Spanish fluently? Since Samuel is Canadian, with gorgeous hair and a beret, does that mean he speaks French fluently?💖😂🥰
