At least now I know how the machine works. I had a new record a few weeks ago of just over $700, mostly #2, some Alum, brass. It will be a long time before I will have enough to go back again. I think it was around 1600lbs of bare bright. I didn't take it all in at once. I cut it into 4-5ft sections with a large greenlee cable shear. I always look up the bare copper weight online to calculate the actual copper weight per foot in insulated wire to know what to pay. You can do math for calculated length or a resistance test on reeled wire/cable.@@scrapitall200

      I don’t remember exactly how small of wire it’ll do, but I have tried 18 gauge and it stripped it. Thank you for watching.

    Wait where does the drill come from and how do u attach it?

    • @scrapitall200
      @scrapitall200  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just a standard 3/8 drill that attaches to the shaft on the stripper.

    Why don't u mark your guide on the side for each guage wire instead of resetting the stripper over and over again?
    Just my opinion.
    Opinions may very.

      There are markings on it from the manufacture, but sometimes the thickness of the insulation varies even between the se gauge wire. Your suggestion is great, and I do appreciate it. Thank you for watching another video of mine.

      Right now the average price in the USA for #1 is around $3.25 a pound.
      I haven’t sold any of my copper in over a year so I don’t know what my yard is paying right now.

    Your yard is ripping you off if they don’t call both the bare wire in your 2 examples bare bright. Guarantee they are reselling both of them as that. Find a new yard. It all gets remelted and doesn’t matter to their buyers buyer...Even brand new single core bare bright depending on the manufacturer comes more reddish brand new instead of the light reddish shiny color, and it’s still bare bright. You need to lean on your yard or find a new one for the bare bright if not bud, they are taking advantage....I’d just save it if were you....I sell my 1&2, but keep ALL my bare bright in giant totes as part of my “stack”(I buy gold/silver bullion to stack and save NEVER sell and same with free bare bright I NEVER sell any...)

      I know they are being cheap and ripping us off, but I live 3.5 hours roundtrip from them and the next closest one is another 1.5 hours away one way. Thank you for watching.

      I only use 2, but is major bargaining power and I only sell copper 1-2,000 lbs so even more bargaining power 😂

      If your scrap yards are that far away you should connect with other scrappers in your area and either become a buyer yourself, or band together in some way. Your area is 'under serviced' currently.
