wish there was a burnout style lego technic game, using both old and new lego technic sets to compete in races, it would be interesting to see a race between the Super Street Sensation vs Lamborghini Sian, or: Silver Champion vs Mclaren F1 mcl36, etc
that pin could easily be used in a pully mechanism or even as a string guide for a mechanism, it could be used as a buffer for a trains bumper or even for 2 parts crash into each other to minimise impact
The calculator looks like it was probably sold at the legoland Techic pavilion. I remember the gift shop had all sorts of things branded with theme names. LEGO Aquazone notebooks, Adventure themed water bottles, and sure, probably a technic themed stationary set with a cheap rebranded calculator.
land rover defender is too old at this point for a review, but not old enough to be considered a classic or legendary set. As for the delorean, I was planning on making a review on my unbrickme system channel, but i couldnt find the time and im prioritizing the ucs landspeeder now
That piece presented in #1 looks like it could be used in some sort of rubber band linking capacity. Or maybe as a means of routing a cable for a build with electronics.
Hello ! I would like to ask where you found your sources from the technic blog, if you can provide a link, I would appreciate it! Also, which issue of the magazine is this exactly, in which they write about the amazing methods of component development Markus Kossmann took part in? This video was really great, if you are like me, Technic itself means a lot to me and I am also interested in the small historical details, a theme that is almost 50 years old, which really describes what technic really means and what value it represents!
I used the web archive website to take screenshots of the technic blog. The old technic website had two links. Either technic.lego.com or LEGO.com/technic As for the magazine, it’s produced by immediate media company, issue 13, LEGO giant series
interesting info about blakbird, i helped him with the akiyuki project a few years ago and now im the only one of the original people who worked on that project who is still active with the Akiyuki stuff.
Go back in the website path by removing the last, or last two words after the / on the website, and download the games to your computer. That will work!
In the strange things I discovered recently, the first Lego set with remote control for a vehicle ( forward/backward AND steering ) isn't a Technic one as I thought until then ( like the ones in 1990 and 1993, control center and else ), but a brick set from 1970... With the good old 4.5 v motor...and guess what? None of it are sold... I have to admit I really want to see it at least once
Bricktsar has a great video of that set on his channel, and you can see it driving around. It’s very rare as it was too expensive for most families at the time.
Around 3:09. Im one of the Kids in the picture. I still remember That event that is descriped these. It was 12 years ago now. And this brought back some fun memories. Im the kid in the green white striped polo holding the truck above his head.
That piece presented in #1 looks like it could be used in some sort of rubber band linking capacity. Or maybe as a means of routing a cable for a build with electronics.
I think you could use these pins for a rubber band tensioner.
Great idea! Though the half pin with ball is often used for such applications
@@Unbrickme but it is a little smaller from what it looks like, so maybe there's a case where these few mm are crucial?
Thats what I was gonna say
This was my thought too.
I have the same idea 💡
5:36 it could act as a buffer for trains.
“The first issue was released in July 2022” well hot damn i guess the time machine does work
The LEGO Delorean turned out to be a real time machine
The pin does not look useless to me at all. You can use it for stuff like flags or capes, or anything made from paper or thin plastic.
4:36 the first issue WAS released in July 2022.... Interesting. It is only May 2022 now.
why would you want to have regular calculator with the name technic slapped on, whats the actual difference between that and any other calculator?
It’s official LEGO technic
I feel like that half pin could be used for belts on Technics! 😃🤔
Have it.
I mean I HAVE IT
i think it could also be used for rubber bands, probably a little better then just putting it on a normal pin or on a axle washer
wish there was a burnout style lego technic game, using both old and new lego technic sets to compete in races, it would be interesting to see a race between the Super Street Sensation vs Lamborghini Sian, or: Silver Champion vs Mclaren F1 mcl36, etc
Meh, use the biggest classic of all, the 8880 car XD
@@richardjulien1329 or even better: 853/956 car chassis
True
There was LEGO 4x4 Extreme Rally that featured the 2001 flagship 8466.
there was a online game where you could drive a yellow technic car around a toystore but i dont remember where it was on
There was a Racing game based on the Green and Orange pullback cars that came out the year after the blue and red pullback cars
I had completely forgotten about the Technic games!! I used to play these when I was 8 years old! Now im nearly 20
that pin could easily be used in a pully mechanism or even as a string guide for a mechanism, it could be used as a buffer for a trains bumper or even for 2 parts crash into each other to minimise impact
the "useless" pin can be used to put a discrete rubbetband hook to comply with FLL leagal pieces regulations
i could see using the little pin to hold a rubber band if you need more clearance than a 6628 pin with ball
That last peice would make a nice mechanical stopage for steering or gears
Yes
The calculator looks like it was probably sold at the legoland Techic pavilion. I remember the gift shop had all sorts of things branded with theme names. LEGO Aquazone notebooks, Adventure themed water bottles, and sure, probably a technic themed stationary set with a cheap rebranded calculator.
Thank you so much for letting me know!
Those half pins can probably be used for rubber bands/ what ever Lego’s term is for them. I’m talking about the thin ones
exactly what I was thinking
Holy crap, I've been looking for that escape room game for YEARS, I kept googling "lego technic door gear game" and could never find it
Here's a link to the games: biomediaproject.com/bmp/files/LEGO/gms/online/Technic/
Does anyone have a link or something to the old lego technic blog? In particular the post about the unimog's suspension?
The paper clip price could be used to place ripper bars on it when building with them
I had the Cyberslam Plane and Jump-up Animals set and 3 Rescue Vehicles that came out around the same time.
1:17 ihave played both of those games and i miss them i have not complete the technic tower but i have tried at least
Why didn’t you review the Land Rover defender nor the DeLorean?
land rover defender is too old at this point for a review, but not old enough to be considered a classic or legendary set. As for the delorean, I was planning on making a review on my unbrickme system channel, but i couldnt find the time and im prioritizing the ucs landspeeder now
Last year my dad brought the technic magazine for me and it even came with a polly bag
6:00 bump stomp
The technic magazines first issue came out in July 2022? That's cool because that's still over a month away
I meant to say 2021
What did you mean by only know of 4 technic games as there were several that came with kits.
6:00 furnature foot
The car seen at 2:44 was my 3rd ever lego technic set
Rubber bands, ships sails, carpet skids, greebling; It’s far from useless.
Now i think i need a lego technic branded calculator lol
Thanks for the video!
That piece presented in #1 looks like it could be used in some sort of rubber band linking capacity. Or maybe as a means of routing a cable for a build with electronics.
Thanks for sharing! Nice video!
I have that same calculator, but unfortunately it's not Lego-branded
Can you do a review for the alternate builds on rebrickable for the land rover
Great idea!
Can review the mad max clawcar by grohl and the helicopter by Steven Patton
I would assume the calculator was an executive item for meetings, like when companies get their logo on pens etc that they don’t make
That could definitely be the case!
set 8299 came with a whole pack of underwater-theme games on CD-ROM, you might need a Windows 98 machine to run them though.
6:00 two rubbers connecting maybe ?
Great to see your channel going strong!
Thank you so much!!! And thank you for watching my channel!
Love it keep up the good work
Thank you so much I greatly appreciate it
You should do a review on the Lego City Stuntz racers
I thought I recognized my binary counter in there... 😂 Thanks for putting it in there Unbrickme!
No problem! You make amazing stuff!
Only other use i could think of for the useless pin is using it for rubber bands in sets
Great idea!
exactly what I was thinking
Odd, I remember getting calculators of that same model, albeit with different branding on, at various conventions and meetings when I was younger...
The deluxe flip calculator seems to be a popular choice for companies to rebrand it
Man ya deserve more subs!
Been subbed for over a year now!

Hey unbrickme, you should review the technic 42042 crawler crane, I think you’d like the gearbox.
6:00 false rivets
Thank you for all that you have done on this channel
Lego technic isn’t a theme - it’s its own LEGO paradigm
It was a surprise to see that I appeared in this video!
It’s so awesome that you found my video!

@@richardjulien1329 Thanks!
Can’t wait to play these games
But no pressure, no pressure!
that useless piece would be a good "front wheel" for the little R2D2 minifigs lol
If a black version of the pin was made ot would be perfect for train buffers
Informative and entertaining 🙂
That pin looks like it could be used for the buffer of a British steam engine
wonderful idea
@@Unbrickme oh hi didn’t expect a reply
Wow,some of these things,I didn't even know
Thre is another old game: 4x4 Extreme Rally.
When is the next time you will post a new vid
I think tomorrow
Ok because I live in Australia so the times different so it’s hard to see when you post. Btw your videos are so good
That pin could hold one end of an elastic
When I get more technic sets I’m gonna make a gbc
Those useless pins look like train buffers.
As there was a Lego calculator there was also a Lego Technic stopwatch
I ordered one on bricklink
July 2022 hasn't happened yet. It's still June 2022...unless you meant July 2021?
use it as a lego door stopper
great idea

Oh right, I meant July 2021! Good catch
