People in chat telling her to sign the merch is actually a great idea. Like if she were to sign a poster for them in exchange for her own poster seems like a fair trade. I'm also hoping they start making trips to RTX because I work that convention.
The community you guys have is amazing. Stuff like this is why I watch Vtubers. It's so much more than just uwu and boobs, it's real, creative folks who feed off of each other's energy and lift each other up!
Some of these comments are too funny 🤣 It's not about money, clout, exposure, copyright. Obviously Aethel & Nyan could afford to buy out the whole booth lol. The reason the artists are giving them merch is that it's a gift! The reason these artists draw Nyan is that they are fans of her, that's why they use their time and talent which they could use to draw anyone. When you meet someone you admire and are a fan of and want to give them a present, what better thing than art you used your own talent to create. Gifts are about being thoughtful of the other person, not about money.
Its not really a negative to say that getting good PR is smart though. You can do things that would be positive for your business AND also like people genuinely at the same time.
@@hunterhenryk Well, Nyanners couldn't sue them, only the artists of her models. And then there is still the fair use principle = as long as they don't get in the way of Nyanners business (and she isn't selling drawings of her own), they don't hurt her financially = Nyanners has to tolerate it.
While I believe it would have been nice if they did pay for somethings if any of those watching were there they would make a beeline for those booths since aethel and nyanners liked them.

If someone offers you a gift, you accept it gracefully. During a Livestream especially, haggling over the cost of goods isn't a super great idea, even if it's in the "no no, let me pay you" sense. If you absolutely must repay them, check later on to see if they have a donations page set up somewhere, or keep them in mind for future projects.
