No1 visiting Jaco, a popular tourist destination in Costa Rica which most of the travellers to CR want to stay away from for a good reason…tells everything of the quality of advise in this video.

CR tends to be relatively expensive. I eat where the locals eat.

Manuel Antonio National Park is amazing! BUT, it is not really a "day trip" unless you pay a lot for a trip on a tour bus that holds 6 to 8. That would be pricy. Be a nice local bus for around $10 the bus trip would be 5 hours or more EACH WAY. Not something I would try to do as a day trip. Tortuga is even further away from San Jose. Arenal is a day trip, but Monteverde Cloud forest is not at all a day trip. The "12 things to do in San Jose" is a click bait title. (I've been to Costa Rica over a dozen times.)

Most of these are not in San Jose. Not the best list imo.

absolutely true; stay in the burbs around San Jose. Never be in San Jose at night unless in a group.

San José se ha vuelto más peligroso. tenga cuidado y no salga después del anochecer. Siempre lleve un cuchillo grande para su protección.

The description of San Jose, Costa Rica is completely false. It is the POOREST urban area in the Central Valley. NO TOURISTS live there or stay there (at 90 percent true - there is one 5 star hotel near the city shopping area, otherwise u will likely stay in Escazu or a nearby suburb). Hotels and Motels situated on the outskirts or in the suburbs are where most stay. San Jose is dangerous at night and do not be a pedestrian near sunset if you are a Caucasian, ya gonna be robbed or worse. La Sabana is a nice area during the day time, and some concerts r there - be careful, a foreign Guy was murdered there in the middle of the park in daylight hours a few years ago. Whoever does these videos knows NOTHING about Costa Rica!

Yesss! You're right! I have been residing in CR for 2 years now and all i can say is that this country is sadly ABSOLUTELY EXPENSIVE, also, there's no reason to go out at night, as long as you use your common sense, so yeah, being out late at night in CR can be really dangerous. 😢
