Many of them are millionaires now and live somewhere else but some of them still holding their lands waiting for the land price to go up. Many of them have descent cars too such as BMW and Mercedes. Some of them owned supercars and luxurious cars too such as Ferrari, Bentley & Maserati. Kampung Baru always give the wrong perception to Kuala Lumpur such as great inequality, slum area, lack of modernity and so on. The government need to take stern action to upgrade the area. Anyway, try to visit Putrajaya, still within Greater Kuala Lumpur. About 30 min from the city centre. You can reach there by train. Don't forget to apply for drone permit. Putrajaya is a drone paradise.

That "poor area" is Kampung Baru, one of the most expensive land. The land is value at rm200-rm300 psf. Around $45-$75 psf
