Her older albums are probably too country for you but you'll really enjoy her most recent album, "starcrossed". It's her most pop sounding to date. Also it has a great music companion film with beautiful visuals on Paramount Plus.
Exactly I think you just need to listen to it more Caitlyn, so you can notice the nuances, the “spaces” - look it up even Elton John loves this album. Kacey said the genre of this is Space Country. And YES it WON the GRAMMYS most prestigious award!!!🔥
@@123rockfan That might be why a non-country fan might end up liking it! The focus was on production over lyricism, which isn't a horrible thing but probably not what most of her fans wanted/expected from her.
fun fact; this album won album of the year at the Grammys 2018 and she dedicated it to her husband but her next album was called star crossed which is about their divorce…
@@edensylvester13 I think so, the album was about how much she loved her husband and then when she won the Grammy she dedicated it to him and the next time she released music they’d fallen out of love.
Her latest album star-crossed is her post divorce album and definitely a different vibe from her other work, also sadder. Personally star-crossed is my fave of hers. Also more my vibe, more pop vibes with hints of country. I definitely think you’ll like that more than this one!!
I'm SO happy you are listening to kacey musgraves!, The almost psychedelic country sound she used in this album it's inmaculate and i hope she comes back to it in the future. Also her music before it's pretty good, specially pageant material with that classic country sound mixed with really clever lyrics. Don't know if you are taking requests but i would love to hear your thoughts on lucy dacus music, i think She's up your alley
Caitlin if you’re feeling like this album is a bit too joyful for you atm, maybe too country, you could try her latest album Star-Crossed (obviously only if you feel up to it coz I know this one was suggested a lot, so please don’t feel pressured too, literally only do this is if you feel curious and happy to) but that one’s a big leap into pop music, still with a little country to it but it’s not overbearing imo and pop is definitely the prominent genre. And it’s also her divorce album SOOOOO LMAO
This album didn't hit me the first time but then the day after, I putted it in background while I was cooking and other stuff and I found myself being very uplifting by it. The simple lyrics are a soft cuddle to me, it really puts me in a good mood in a simple way. It's one of the first album that come to my mind if I want music without feeling heavy feelings but with a peaceful vibe. I love it.
@@brewofcalamity I’m pretty sure in an interview she listed her as one of her biggest inspirations lmao. Also, the 2016 issue has been resolved now and Taylor was proved to not be a liar soo, if you’re correct. I don’t see what her problem is.
I remember she liked Kid Rock's tweet bashing Taylor then tried saying she was hacked and didn't like it. Someone hacks you just to like one tweet, sure....
I saw her in 2018 on her Oh What a World tour in London, I knew next to nothing about her, bought the ticket totally spontaneously 3 days before the show... and I literally cried the entire fucking time! From the moment she opened with Slow Burn to when she walked off stage lol. Her music is incredible!
Hey Caitlin, I first found you when folklore and evermore were released and I just wanted to say, it makes me so happy to see you doing well and being more confident in your opinions and music taste. Love your videos and hope you continue to live your best life xx
Echoing other comments here, I think you would really enjoy Star-Crossed Caitlin, her follow up to Golden Hour! It's much less country, and largely a divorce album so much sadder, with a good dose of nostalgia thrown in too to add even more sad girl vibez. Star-Crossed was my first Kacey listen and it definitely eased me into her music as someone who also didn't listen to much Country. I had a similar reaction to you for Golden Hour on first listen, and now it's an all time fave! So yes, great vid and deffo check out Star-Crossed for something that's probably more your taste & possibly a yeehaw-gateway drug like it was for me! :)
Kacey is such an incredible artist! Not only for her music but for her being so outspoken about things that are typically very taboo for country music and it’s fans! I have a happy and sad tattoo on my arm and Kacey actually posted it on her Instagram story! Just so happy you reacted to this beautiful album!
To me, this is simple and nice to hear. Sure it's not that special and mind-blowing to hear... But it works, how so? When I close my eyes and just feel the breeze and wonderful and most beautiful sound flowing the wind. Which capture amazingly from the voice and the instrument. Even the most simple tune you'll get in the lyrics, singing, and in the genre of Country Pop Kacey Musgraves did that with Golden Hour. Well deserved attention 😌
This is my favorite album of all time. I’m not a fan of country music but Kacey is different for me. It just hit me at a time where the album felt like a warm hug to me and it will always mean so much to me. I haven’t ever been in love to relate but it is almost like an escape type of album for me. If you want a more pop album from Kacey, check out Star-crossed her 2021 album!! Imo it’s not as good as golden hour but it is more pop-py!
I first listened to this album when it was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. It turned into one of my favorite albums I’ve listened to. Happy and Sad, Oh What a World, Golden Hour and Rainbow are my favorite tracks. It’s such a calming album to listen to especially when things get chaotic

It took a lot to get into for me… but bb when I got into it! It was on rotation cus I just started to relate more and more. Deff simple and digestible. Kacey Musgraves is not that underrated. She's so well-known in her country genre.
