Makes me cry man. The songs so beautiful.... Reminded me of my grandma . she had a SNES and a bunch of games and me and my cousins played for hours. And after she died a year ago.... Every time I see a SNES game especially this I just tear up... Its close to home :(
This game brings back me back into childhood. Memories sitting next to the tv with my new Super Nintendo. Best game ever made for a 16bit console. Period.
i have just bought a snes perposely to get this game again,i love it so much its stuck with me for 18 years, hopefully i will be playin it tonight, thanx for uploading this classic game clips...
If anyone can remember renting this game from Video City back in the day, you were a part of the best generation there ever was for gaming. I still have my old copy, and I still play it to this day!
I used to spend so much time on this level. All I did was jump around, marvel at the backgrounds, ride Rambi for a while and listen to the music over and over again. I still do it to this day...
I remember getting this on the day of release in late 1994. I couldn't believe how good it looked. I was just starting college, right before the harsh realities of life hit me. Life was good in '94, and this game brings back some good memories. Sniff!
It's been so many years since I played this with my friend. Memories don't die so easily, I guess - not that I wanted them to die, either. I remember DK Country was a great game back then, and I bet it still is.
I remember the very first time I played this game, seeing it on display at Target when I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. It completely blew me away. I'd never seen such an amazing-looking game before. I got the game for Christmas that year, and spent the whole day playing it and loving every second. Between DKC and Earthworm Jim, 1994 was a year when non-Japanese developers really showed their stuff.
I watch this to simply go back to my precious child hood days when I didn't have to do anything but Go to Pre-k, Eat, sleep, and play donkey kong. I miss those days! Now I have to pay bills and never have time to play. Thank God for youtube on the celly.
@vcihiethea Yes, RARE used a technique called ACM to render the graphics of 3D models in CGI workstations then turning them into 2D sprites frame by frame.
This brings back so many memories,me and my brother used to play it so many times it took us awhile to beat it but we eventually did beat it, I didn't know you could get could get that blue balloon to get 6 more lives, I love this game!
:] I have so many fond memories of playing this game with my mom.. we almost made it to end on a few occasions.. Im just glad you can get it on the Wii now..
@japs209 Well spoted! This is recorded on ZSNES, years before BSNES came out with much better SPC emulation. It's really really hard to emulate the Sony SPC700 sound chip that was inside every SNES made. Truly, nothing beats the real hardware in this particular case. =)
I just saw the ad for the new DKC for the Wii, and it made me think of this version. Awesome game. I remember being sick as a dog on the couch the day after my mom bought me my first SNES and this game. I could only sit and watch as my brother had first dibs on it...ass.
I have all three in the SNES series! I am deffinetly going to get them out now! These were great games! Wolfenstien 3D was good too! I have close to 100 SNES games in my collection. Love them!
Man this game was ahead of its time. Even to this day I am amazed that Rare was able to pack these kind of graphics into an SNES game. This game became the standard for all other SNES games to live up to, much like Ocarina of Time did on the N64. That intro is still so memorable! Da-da-dee... da dun-dun-dee...
Best game ever! I was addicted to it as a kid. I remember playing this game so much.
I think we all were.
The nostalgia is too much >_

You can NEVER forget that theme music in the beginning! Oh my goodness, all of the sudden just because of it, I want to play it again!

Riding the steel drum through the level is probably one of the most bad-ass things in the history of gaming!
I just saw the ad for the new DKC for the Wii, and it made me think of this version. Awesome game. I remember being sick as a dog on the couch the day after my mom bought me my first SNES and this game. I could only sit and watch as my brother had first dibs on it...ass.
