@artlesscalamity misinfo, that's funny. I'm SURE this will get deleted (they always do on SNL's TH-cam, speaking of who controls misinfo). I think that's a callback to a joke Che read on Update a few years ago when they showed that picture - I think Colin's joke was about "minister of loneliness" being his nickname in high schook, and Che quipping "I didn't know you were a lesbian in high school"
That might be my favorite Michael Che ever, sipping on a drink with that bemused expression. It reminds me that we’ve been through it once and we will get through it again.
We didn’t really get through it last time. He refused to lock down the airport and the country when necessary and literally millions of Americans died. And the economy is in shambles.
@@nataliaalfonso2662 It will definitely be worse this time. I agree with @nataliaalfonso2662. We did not get through it last time. We lost over a million people directly to COVID 19, and countless more who were peripheral victims, who died because they were unable to get necessary medical treatment because the hospitals were so full of COVID 19 patients. My own husband was one of those people. The pandemic tanked the economy, thanks to Trump’s inept mishandling- while the superrich got richer. Apart from individual grief, the country has once again put into power a man who is a racist, a felon, a rapist, a traitor, and a thief. For 4 years, American children grew up with that as our president, someone they should look up to. There’s no way to rationalize that. There’s no way to shrug and say, “We got through it before, we’ll get through it again.” America will never be the same, and this shameful choice is viewed with shock and fear by the rest of the free world. Putin is happy, though.
@@CCW10251 "For 4 years, American children grew up with that as our president, someone they should look up to" - the answer may be to stop raising children to look up to the president, it's far more important to teach them critical thinking even if that means showing them that their country is not as great as everyone keeps saying it is... it's just... big. Obviously also teach them what needs to be done for a country to be truly "great" regardless of its size. I'm so sorry about your husband. The lore of Che’s neighborhood is crazy, even in its twilight. NBC is making a whole cinematic universe around his apartment complex. First Cathy Anne gets arrested and now Willie has to move out?
I agree, but my worry is - - where were those classic American values last Tuesday? Are they in the rearview? Did we see the "new Classic" - - or just some cynical tantrum version of Classic Coke? In none of the previous decades of my 60+ years could a degenerate bully like this last 5 minutes in the public eye, let alone get elected twice, be enabled by the Supreme Court, escape prosecution for Insurrection/election fraud/national security violations, and do nothing but debase & erode classic moral values. It's shocking and disappointing. Before long it will weigh heavy on the conscience of those who voted for it. Or maybe not... There I go being "classic" again. Farewell America! 😢
I couldn't agree more. But where were those classic values last Tuesday night? Are they just in the rearview mirror now? Did we see the new classic values or just a cynical tantrum version of "Classic Coke"? In my 60+ years there had never been a time when a degenerate buffon tyrant like this would have lasted 5 seconds on the political scene, let alone be elected twice, capture a befouled Supreme Court, escape full prosecution for insurrection/vote fraud/compromising national security, and debasing the nation 's prestige & discourse. He would have been flushed immediately, instead of capturing an entire party and burning the Constitution. Before very long it will weigh heavily on the conscience of those who voted for it. That's because according to his words, Trump is evidently going to let RFK2 and Musk be acting co-Presidents, other than "the oil." This after three months of Republicans whining that Kamala wasn't properly nominated, when we voted for her to take over if Joe wasn't able to do the job.
I don't know about that. Seems we get bad medicine generally from anyone in the GOP. The pandemic was full of terrible advice from the right, who thinks they know better than any expert.
