In Ben's podcast episode on friendship, you gave this quote that I'll never forget, 'Friendships are like a long cord; don't be in a hurry to cut the cord but be in a hurry to tie knots.' This episode was an amazing continuation to that conversation and I'm so glad I listened in. Your mind is something else heh!
Boundaries are a very important way of loving yourself. Growing up I was not taught how to set boundaries and I still struggle with in. But everyone really does need them for one to have better relationships
But seriously where have I been all this while. Just came across your channel today. Nyawira, I enjoy your content.. so wholesome. I here for it all. Be your be refreshed continually.
- Yup. Working to define our values helps us to create spaces that allow us to truly thrive. This is a powerful lesson to help us live meaningful lives. - I also really like how you discuss relationships with other people as active engagements instead of passive things that just "happen". Indeed, healthy adulting allows requires us to control and adjust the proximity and access that different people have to us. - Lastly, I loved how you framed this whole convo as an always evolving process.. I'm learning that in life, there are many things that ebb and flow, and so paying attention and learning to adjust as needed is paramount.
@@MsUnderstood sure thing! also, lol i had a (very nerdy🤓) related thought just now... the bacteria 🦠 which causes cholera disease is called vibrio cholerae. It usually lives in aquatic environments. There, it usually has certain "doors" or porins which allow nutrients etc. in and out. However, once it enters the human host, it closes those doors and opens separate ones that are restrictive to bile acids and other compounds in the small intestine that might be harmful to it.. so honestly the idea of changing boundaries and selectivity in different environments to keep us safe isn't just for us, lol! Anyway thanks again for this convo! :)
@Nyawira, Yaaay you finally back. congratulations Girl. I have learned alot from this episode, It was always hard for me personally to say my boundaries which in turn affects my mental health. Thank you so much girl. keep up with the wise words God bless you
