The one positive thing that can be said though is that the interest/demand in Ivory is going down as time goes on thanks to newer generations of people being more concerned with protecting wildlife and also the traditional Chinese medicine trade being less supported as well by newer generations.
Even after years of separation, zoo elephants can recognize their loyal visitors and express gratitude for their surprise visit. Asian elephants need much protection for their survival, and they deserve it.

Humans really are the demons of this world. The way we have hunted these majestic animals to the point of extinction, is beyond comprehension. Not just elephants but other animal, birds, insects and marine species too.
Lifespan: Elephants have a relatively long lifespan, with some individuals living up to 70 years or more in the wild.They are known for their high intelligence and are capable of problem-solving, using tools, and even showing signs of empathy.
Now it has come up an even bigger threat. "Bloodpearls" are, just what they sound like, pearls made out of blood. The thing with these is that they threat not only elephants with big trunks, like the hunt used to, but now every elephant. The hunters is also taking the blood while the elephants alive, which is extremely painful.

My cat furkids (who love to do dress up and costumes) can 100% recognize themselves in mirrors! They also recognize themselves on-screen to take selfies! They even have their own stand-up mirror at their height level, and use it. I do have formal psychology university level training in Interspecies Communication & Enrichment, so I am sure that cats can also recognize themselves in mirrors & in selfies. Now, I did teach them mirrors & selfies, so there may be a learning curve - I’m not sure yet about that…
