I agree with you totally. Swearing shows a lack of understanding etc of the English language. Seeing Little & Large having fun here with my fave group of all times, was a pleasure to my eyes and ears.
This a great example of an older style of comedy-led variety. It was a well liked format where the comedians introduced music acts and tried to join in. Perhaps the most famous exponents of this style were Morcambe and Wise where the stars queued up to be made fools of in a gente way. Thankyou for sharing this memory.
I have just watched this for the UMPTEENTH time and laughed as much as ever. Wonder who were the "lucky ones" there? Maybe The Searchers themselves - I mean, just think what they learned about guitar playing from Eddie!

Loved these guys I played my sister's records of them all the time my favourite album was the Live at Abbey Road and can I get the song Bridlington anywhere on TH-cam nooooooo I cant even download the song anywhere I'm gutted it was my favourite song aswell
Eddie Large was offered a lead roll in Martin Scorsese,s Goodfellas,but couldn't take the time off as he was appearing at the South Pier Blackpool on a Summertime Special.
Brilliant stuff! Please put more on, these two guys were great. Does anyone have the theme music or opening titles? They are still funnier than most of todays third rate garbage.

Correct on the Searchers completely wrong on Sid. It takes a lot of talent and timing to be a straight man and he could also sing and play instruments well.

100% correct you are. Back in the days we had real comedians and real comedy. Sadly that has all died.

i use to love watching these guys in the 80s i also loved the fact that eddie large could never quite get the hang of learning to play the guitar
He's playing all the right notes - not necessarily in the right order.

I think you are getting your comics mixed up these were sid little and eddie large, bobby ball and tommy cannon were a different double act.
