Amazing to see your Dubliner and Kerrygold buys in Costco! I live in West Cork, Ireland and I work in the Dubliner cheese factory 2 mins from our farm. My husbands cows supply the milk. We also drink our own milk and I followed your channel for the sourdough and food making gems. So it’s amazing to see you using Irish goods. It’s a Co-op owned factory meaning all the diary farmers that supply are the shareholders. They are very passionate about their dairy and cheese down here! We live in an old farmhouse so very little food storage. Everything in the US looks massive! Love your videos.
@catherinebiggs322 Thank you for sharing this info about Dubliner. I’m in Texas and have been buying Irish dairy products for a few years now because of its lack of chemicals and preservatives. Thank you for your dedication to wholesomeness! ❣️
Make your own brown sugar = organic sugar plus organic molasses, mix with your Kitchenaid (2 cups sugar to about 1-2 TAB molasses, make it the dark color you like). You can mix up just a small amount if you wish. You will never go back.
I do this too! Tastes so much better. The Kneady Homesteader recipe is 8 c sugar to 1 cup molasses if you want to make more at a time. Then she soaks a clay sugar bear in water & puts it on top of the sugar in the container. I put mine in a Tupperware container & don't need the clay sugar bear.
My husband has worked for costco for almost 25 years and is now an executive with the company. Fun to see you all discover costco when it has been a GIGANTIC part of our lives for 30 years lol. On a side note (I don’t know if anyone said it here) but Costco’s Kirkland signature brand is often made by competing companies and Costco ensures that whatever is made for KS brand is the highest quality. That is why a lot of times you won’t find your favorite KS items in the store sometimes. They are most likely undergoing rebranding or the quality wasn’t as good and they need to find another manufacturer that will meet their high standards.
I have been a Costco shopper for at least 15 years. Great prices and products. It takes a little while to get the lay of the land but it is worth it, especially for organic products. ❤
Fun video!! I am 4 hours away from a Costco...FYI: The Kirklands brand toilet paper is the best and a great price!! Sometimes they will limit you to only 1 package but it's a big package. Also, for the price they have great clothes!!! Thank you for taking us along. You will have to let us know how you like the various items you purchased. It was good to see your sister and baby as well!! Sisters are the best!!
To keep the brown sugar soft....put a slice of bread inside the brown sugar container. It will not mold. It will keep your brown sugar absolutely moist. Replace it with new slice every month.
Put a slice of bread in the brown sugar if it gets hard. Overnight the bread will release its moister to make the sugar soft again. Remember to throw the bread away after it's done its job.
if you wrap it up tightly and then put it in a ziplock bag tightly, it will stay fresh for a long time. I have had my Costco bag for over a year and it is always fresh like new. Much easier than the bread method, cuz if you forget about changing the bread it just gets hard anyway.
YES YES YES, please keep doing these hauls! I love seeing how you guys determine what is healthy/ good or not! Please let us know about this metabolism diet too!
Anything Kirkland signature has been good in our opinion- they even carried their own beer, wine and liquor in Washingto. I use their espresso beans as they're great!! Love Costco for some items.
This is such a cute video! Steel cut oats only take 20 minutes in the instant pot. We love them! You could have split the brown sugar between the two homes. :)
You are hooked! So fun to see you both at Costco. I have been shopping at Costco since they migrated to the east coast, we have four children and for a family of six, had buy food on a budget. Well, many years have passed and all the children are grown, with families of their own and I still shop at Costco. So do they! The quality and prices can not be beat. So, you will soon make Costco one of your stops for supplies. By the way, really admire you, your show is terrific, really enjoy you and your whole family.
Costco tip when buying frozen/refrigerated items get a couple of large bags for meat from the meat department. Then after checkout go to the beverage and fill up ice in the bags Costco doesn't mind
I just got a Costco membership and I love it! I actually made a list of all organic products they carry from dairy, produce, meat, frozen fruit, etc.. and then I broke down the pricing to compare to other stores (like Trader Joe’s - which I love for their seasonal goods!) and it doesn’t compare - you will save so much money. 😊
People say only big families could use Costco or Sams no I have no children and I use Costco‘s and I save a whole Lotta money because I don’t have to go to the grocery store every two weeks. Just get things in bulks 😃
Nothing like shopping with a sister. I always end up getting more things with that sisterly influence. To keep my brown sugar from hardening, put a marshmallow in the bag or container if you decant it!!Yup!! It works. This was fun. We have a family of only 3, but a Costco run with a friend is like a field trip for me. Thanks for bringing us along!
FYI, you cannot depend on the color of the butter anymore. the additive to make cheddar cheese orange is sometimes added to butter so it is more yellow, which makes you think it is better for you. You can use avocado oil for any recipe that calls for vegetable oil since it is a neutral/flavorless oil.
I agree, when my sister was little girl she used to love store bought butter over homemade ones. My mother used to add little salt and food colouring and pack in container, and she happily ate them 😅 for whole 8 years she didn't know she was eating this. All I wanted to say is, they do add something in it which makes it tastier and appealing
I don't know how it is in the US, but here in Spain on that orange cheddar the natural color is listed in the ingredients. That would be same with butter. But i've never seen in my entire life butter with food coloring in it.
Oh! And Kirkland products are great! You can Google where they get their items from. It's usually top brands. So your Kirkland grass fed butter is more than likely from Kerry's and repackaged for Costco
Here's a useful tip! When you have a long drive home and you need frozen foods of any kind, either take a cooler with you and buy bags of ice while there to pack the frozen foods in the coolers, OR if you have enough money to spare and you forgot to bring your cooler with you, buy one there at the store and a bag of ice and absolutely be sure that the frozen foods you bought there is the very last item you grab on your way to the check out lane. So that way you can immediately put the frozen foods in with the ice in the cooler there before you continue checking out the rest of your products.
You can make homemade brown sugar. It’s easy… Also you can get a terracotta stone soak it in warm for 10 minutes and put it into a container and it keeps it soft.
I love that you’re convincing each other in and out of purchasing items 😂 also that you’re mentioning that things are packaged in plastic, reading ingredients, making sure things are organic. That’s exactly where my brain is when shopping too!
I drive an hour to get to Costco each month. I bought two of their frozen foods bags and I've never had a problem with anything melting before I got it into the freezer back home. And it usually takes me 1.5 hours to get all the frozen foods from the store into my freezer.
We live in the south and an hour away from big stores. We just keep a cooler and couple insulated bags in the back 😆. Also, when you both want it but not that much, split it! My mom and I split stuff ALL the time!
The price is different depending on the original source. Take a cooler with you next time for the frozen goodies. Do a little research because sometimes the prices at Costco are higher than the grocery store. You two are like kids in a candy store!💕
I can tell you all are very frugal and used to making so many things yourselves. You all seem to be taking yourselves and one another into every purchase lol
Love Costco!!! Would never watch a video on any other shopping only Costco. You'll be back! Remember if for any reason you don't like it...take it back!!
To stop your brown sugar going hard from moisture just add a small piece of bread to it once it’s opened and reseal. It will stay soft and easy to use.......
Watched you looking at the beef jerky and beef sticks. You have a wonderful dehydrator. You could so easily make your own. Slice a piece of meat paper thin and dry. You guys are fun to watch. Have a great day.
Steele cut oats cooked in an instant pot is the best way to cook them. I make a large batch and refrigerate them so we can just heat up in the microwave each morning. It takes about 10 minutes to cook in the instant pot
With your brown sugar getting hard you can put a slice of bread in it soften it up plus your can also buy things made to keeping soft but the bread 🥪 is very good
I only use avocado oil. I buy a little more expensive brand and get the glass containers and when I run out, I get them in the plastic containers and pour them into the glass containers I saved.
My mom taught me to use the freezer for everything. Brown sugar stays fresh. Let it come to room temp and it will be soft and smooth like you just bought it. My touch is that I put everything(flour, sugar, ect…) in ziplock freezer bags no matter what.
so you don't have problems with the brown sugar getting hard? I know that you are not supposed to use oxygen absorbers or it will get rock hard. Just curious. Have you vacuum sealed and kept for quite a time? I store my 2 pound bags in buckets and have not had any problems with it
Lisa, put a piece or 2 of 🍞🍞🍞 bread in the brown sugar, it will keep it from getting hard. I bought a big bag like that in March, and it is still nice and soft!!!!
Costco is my “clubbin” in my 40s 🤣 I LOVE IT. The flour is cheap, dog food, toilet paper, etc. My recommendation is that costco has a rotation of sales every month and when something like kerrygold is on sale, i buy the max at $3 off each. So many things I buy In bulk when on sale. Also if you don’t like the taste of something, you can return it no questions asked. If you get their credit card and do the executive membership, you get so much money back. Gas is 4% back. If you have executive membership, you get 2% back on everything (separate from the credit card). I could go on forever….rental cars, furniture etc. 😂😂
I absolutely think Costco is worth it. Aldi is nice because you see how little you’re spending and then see the prices at Costco but the quantity is so much larger. I’d love to see you do a few price comparisons to show if you think it’s worth it too 😊
I use avocado oil and coconut oil also. Avocados oil has a higher cooking temp than olive oil, and I like the flavor better. Enjoyed going along on your shopping trip!
I love that you showed what it's like and what they have for those who have never been or are considering. We used to shop there for years then stopped because I wasn't sure I was getting a great deal and it was just on more store to shop. But now 3 yrs later I realize the value for the quality and quantity of organic, grass-fed, uncured, etc. Seriously if you can afford bulk and you have a family of 4 or more, it's definitely worth it (I've priced compared to a few nearby stores).
Why is Costco so much fun? Lol. And I’m like you guys, going for the staples and not so much the snacks and non-food items. Thanks for taking us along. Really enjoyed it!
In Australia when there is two of you purchasing you can put one person's groceries through leave a space and ask the checkout operator to sub total the first lot ,then they continue with the next persons groceries, that way each person's items are kept together !
I just saw this and thank you so much. I do not live near a Costco , the closest is an hour drive and another is more than 2. I also am home bound so can’t go. But seeing this makes me want to make a list for a friend! Haha
As a Sam's Club shopper, I tried to do a few price comparisons based on this video, and sad to say COSTCO had Sam's Club beat on a few, I did like the amount of ORGNIC items I saw on this video, so I kight have to check into making a switch. Thank you for sharing!
I have never had any trouble with brown sugar drying out when I put in either a lock and lock container or Mason jars with the clip lids. I have had some for over a year stored this way.
Have you ever used a brown sugar bear...it's a ceramic bear that you soak in water and leave it in your brown sugar. your brown sugar will stay moist for months.
My kids just make our brown sugar as needed. We keep a mason jar full of it and then make more when we get low. We just stock up on organic sugar and molasses. Once you make it you’ll never go back haha. Loved watching this. And I use avocado oil on salads, dressing, Mayo, homemade bread when I want a non flavored oil. I also use it for our skin because it’s so moisturizing.
Yeah your kids are in Awana! I'm sure not many viewers noticed that comment. We are Awana Missionaries, so I caught it right away. FYI we love Costco and go weekly.
For a large family this makes sense. I tried a big box store once but the quantities of products were far too big for we two people to use and it cost too much. Their gas was no cheaper than anyone else’s gas. I got my money back ( they had a special refund offer to try them out) and kept shopping like I always had.
Can I just say how fortunate U2 girls are to have each other as sisters friends and companions as you raise your families God bless you all
Agreed! I always wanted a sister for a friend!

amen to that!

This is so amazing, thank you for sharing! Love the Irish butter!
Wow, thank you for sharing that. We love Kerigold and Dubliner! Waving from Pennsylvania.
We love our KerryGold!
Will have to look for the cheese 😊

I find it hard to locate molasses ... I might have to order in line maybe 🤔
You could also half it with laura. That’s what I do with my azure order, buy in bulk and split with someone
Thank you so much I am going to do this is soon as I can!!
I just buy brown sugar, tried it n didn’t find it worth the hassle
So nice to have a sister as a friend❤

i shopped at Costco in CA but i live in Gainesville FL & we need one to edge out Sams.
It's always a great idea to bring a cooler for frozen/cold items. The frozen fruit is amazing!
I love these two amazing, creative, beautiful, strong sisters. Thank you for everything you are creating on this planet.
I lol’d at “we found the problematic one” 😂 about the coconut water
The Kirkland brand of grass fed butter is actually better, and it’s cheaper. It’s 95% grass fed whereas Kerrygold is like 85% or something.
You need to do a shopping trip/haul with your sister again! This was fun.
I have been a Costco shopper for at least 15 years. Great prices and products. It takes a little while to get the lay of the land but it is worth it, especially for organic products. ❤

If you buy bulk brown sugar. You can put a slice of bread in the container and it will draw the moisture from the sugar. Nice haul girls!
This is such a cute video! Steel cut oats only take 20 minutes in the instant pot. We love them!
You could have split the brown sugar between the two homes. :)
I do it 10 minutes
But I soak it 24 hrs first
Exactly!!
I've never seen that in Spain.
I do 10 minutes with no soak! These ones at Costco :)
I love Costco! I bring big cooler for the cold and frozen things!

Avocado oil is best for roasting veggies as it takes high heat best
Costco sells bob’s red mill organic steel cut oats that cook quickly. Only seven minutes and they’re delicious. Plain of course.
I feel like I was just hanging out with you both, thanks for taking us along and being down to earth!!

so fun to thrift with friends!
As an Australian I've never heard of Aussie bites 🤣 with those ingredients. We do Anzac biscuits!
😅 I was thinking the same!
@KB-qo8kr could be protecting themselves from illegal use of the word ANZAC as you need permission.
Might be a good idea to buy together and split when you can. 😊
You can make your own brown sugar. I use a 2 cup nonbleached sugar with 1/4c molasses, or add more if you want a darker sugar.
My grandma always had a piece of bread in her brown sugar package to keep it moist?
Love this video! So fun! I just put a piece of white bread in my brown sugar and it keeps it soft! Also, any cookies that get hard, do the same thing!
I do that too! :)

We live in the south and an hour away from big stores. We just keep a cooler and couple insulated bags in the back 😆.

Just put some slices of bread in your brown sugar container...I never have issues.
How cool to get to shop with your sister! Enjoyed this video, thank you.
I can tell you all are very frugal and used to making so many things yourselves. You all seem to be taking yourselves and one another into every purchase lol
Wow you have so many more organic choices than we do here in Quebec, Canada, lucky you!
Hello. Not sure if your aware but when you open brown sugar put a slice a bread in it and it will keep forever. Happy shopping
I bring a cooler with ice so I can buy dairy and meat. I also do all non-refrigerated isle items first and do all refrigerated items last.
Watched you looking at the beef jerky and beef sticks. You have a wonderful dehydrator. You could so easily make your own. Slice a piece of meat paper thin and dry. You guys are fun to watch. Have a great day.
I think they do some many homemade/natural things from scratch, some things are easier just to buy sometimes.
Sweet morning, and have a niceand beautiful Sunday to you, and your family!!❤🎉😊💐☘️💚🍂🥰🎈🎊🎂🎁🎈♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
If you put the brown sugar in a glass jar and put plastic on top of it before you seal it up it will stay soft.
Like 85% of avocado oils in the states are supplemented with seed oils. The best is virgin coconut oil, beef tallow, butter and ghee.
Steele cut oats cooked in an instant pot is the best way to cook them. I make a large batch and refrigerate them so we can just heat up in the microwave each morning. It takes about 10 minutes to cook in the instant pot

Buy a brown sugar stone to keep it from hardening. It works great. Just wet the stone and put it in the bag of brown sugar.
My mom taught me to use the freezer for everything. Brown sugar stays fresh. Let it come to room temp and it will be soft and smooth like you just bought it. My touch is that I put everything(flour, sugar, ect…) in ziplock freezer bags no matter what.

I’m impressed with all the organic products!!! Thanks for the experience.
Add a piece of broken clay pottery to the brown sugar. Soak it in water first, wipe off and it will keep the brown sugar soft forever!
The steel cut oats are amazing, they cook less than regular steel cut oats like 5-7 minutes. My favorite
Vacuum packing is the best thing when I buy bulk at Costco or Sam’s etc., especially for things like the brown sugar! 😊
so you don't have problems with the brown sugar getting hard? I know that you are not supposed to use oxygen absorbers or it will get rock hard. Just curious. Have you vacuum sealed and kept for quite a time? I store my 2 pound bags in buckets and have not had any problems with it

Yes! Stock up on the rotation sales. Learn how much you need. You will never pay the retail price.
How do you find out what things are on sale?
Literally loved this! You guys are the best
For your brown sugar, get a little clay bear. You moisten it and it keeps the sugar moist in an airtight container.
What is a clay bear and where would you get it? My brown sugar always turns to a rock.
@@lilycardoso4679 I got mine off Amazon
I have a clay bear and I love it. Keeps brown sugar so soft but I recently heard you can put a big marshmallow in brown sugar and it stays soft.
I just put a heal of bread inside and it keeps the brown sugar from getting hard.
I agree, I don't like to buy oils in plastic bottles
I absolutely think Costco is worth it. Aldi is nice because you see how little you’re spending and then see the prices at Costco but the quantity is so much larger. I’d love to see you do a few price comparisons to show if you think it’s worth it too 😊
The small town I live in is getting an Aldi this fall and I'm so excited for it!
@@cutethulu_xo FYI Aldi has the most recalls on their products.
The best organic avocado oil is from Azure Standard. I buy a gallon every couple of months.
Do y’all have a fun time. I’m so happy for you and your sister. I miss my sister so much.
I was shouting at the screen, pack straight into the car because you have to lift those boxes!!! Looks like it was a fun haul.

The avocado oil is great for skin care as well. I infuse dry calendula in the oil for skin creams

To keep brown sugar from hardening this is what I do. I put it in a glass jar and put a piece of bread on top. Stays soft and perfect to use 😊
Lol. Peer pressure shopping.
That lemon juice is a great price based on my recent price comparisons....
As a Sam's Club shopper, I tried to do a few price comparisons based on this video, and sad to say COSTCO had Sam's Club beat on a few, I did like the amount of ORGNIC items I saw on this video, so I kight have to check into making a switch. Thank you for sharing!
I used to shop Costco, but I have not been in a while. You’ve inspired me to go this week.☺️👏🏻
Kerry Gold butter and cheese are amazing
You have to try freeze drying the Costco Rotisserie Chicken. Best deal. We use this chicken regularly. Just add a little water.
Yeah your kids are in Awana! I'm sure not many viewers noticed that comment. We are Awana Missionaries, so I caught it right away. FYI we love Costco and go weekly.
I'm Irish and I live in Ireland and I'm so delighted that you like our butter and cheese Kerry gold is very popular in the US, love your videos
I love Kerry Gold!
For a large family this makes sense. I tried a big box store once but the quantities of products were far too big for we two people to use and it cost too much. Their gas was no cheaper than anyone else’s gas. I got my money back ( they had a special refund offer to try them out) and kept shopping like I always had.
Yes, the large quantities are good for big families...
