@@sailorrider9802 I am waiting for my semi-knobbly tyres to arrive along with my crash guard. If they do arrive by Friday, definitely I will do the trail. Otherwise may do a slightly long ride on the Tiger, or just a fast run on the Interceptor. I've made a new camera mount on the helmet that should be naked bike friendly in theory, so want to test it.
That was a no nonsense, good video. And lol it's crazy how you make it so informative to the core. "loosening means anti clockwise". Such attention to detail. Appreciated. One thing though. If I'm to get such a piece fabricated from a known workshop of mine, they can get it done for a few hundred rupees. Don't you think 1500 is quite a stretch for such a small piece?
See, anyone can get anything fabricated for less. But do you want to take the hassle of doing that? This is a quality piece of equipment. It is well designed, it looks nice, it is powdercoated, it does not move (been using it for 5 months) even when I do heavy trails. And if it stays like this two years down the line, you will only remember the long journeys you had and the fact that it worked for you during that time - would that 1,500 not be worth it then? That's how I see it. And I appreciate the kind words. Thank you for that.
Useful video, as always! One observation, saw you have handle bar risers installed as well. Did you have to use a different clutch cable or just re-route the existing one?
I have a one-inch handlebar riser installed. No need to change cables while using them. Very soon, I will be switching to two-inch risers and for that I will be changing my clutch cable to one from the Avenger.
@@abhinavbhatt Ok, a video once you make the switch would be great😀... Also in the current 1 inch riser you did you have to change the routing of the cable?
Congratulations for the 50k abhinav, ur videos are always straight to the point without any drama and that's how it should be when it comes to motorcycles and related stuff. Only thing which I want to know is that do we actually require a phone mount on 390 adv as it comes with smart phone connectivity and supports GPS and also one can manage calls and msgs (correct me if I'm wrong). Recently have seen lot of vloggers installing the phone mount on 390 adv so asking out of curiosity
It is good to have a proper screen showing the entire route than just having turn by turn signals. At least that is what I prefer. I get to know how much time it will take me to get to my destination, traffic updates etc etc.
Cool. But a testament to how amazingly sturdy this mount is, I had the bike upside down this Sunday, the front resting on the mount for four hours. Don't ask why. Hahah
I had just sent it to 4 people! It spread like wildfire. Still conflicted whether I should make a video on it or not. Full footage on my GoPro. Problem is, I just don't want to do random content. So maybe will avoid.
Slim part away from the rider and thick part towards the rider 6:26 try it that way. I think it’s meant to this way as normally mounts tend to sag downwards due to gravity, where as when u do it in my way it will not even move.
Can you tell why the designer did not use a 22 or 28 mm dia bar on the bracket? It would have saved the trouble of using that packing for one & secondly, there would be 100% certainty about sturdiness of Mount. As I presume, most of the mounts available in the market are either 22 or 28 mm or 22mm with a 3 mm bushing.
He went with 22 mm this time, but at least the spacer I used did not fit perfectly. Anyway, not that big a deal. Just a few wraps of basic electrical tape would do. And in fact, make it sturdier since it will compress when the bolt is tightened.
You were going to take your adv 390 to some off road after changing rear sprocket (when your friend's bike broke down on Highway)... You took it to off-road after that day?
Hi Abhinav, Timsun recommends a tyre pressure of 41psi. Even their importer asked me to keep @41psi. Can you please share your thoughts and what tyre you are running?
Would it be better if you put the phone mount other way round, so that the screw to tighten it below and it's easy for you to tighten or loosen without fingers getting stuck between the windscreen?
@@abhinavbhatt I get your point, also i felt due to the small movement if the screw touches the dashboard it might introduce scratches. Secondly, you told the new design is 22mm but you mentioned you still have to apply padding - why ?
There's still a slight gap between the spacer and the rod. Now I am not sure which is not true to size. Anyway, takes 10 seconds to wrap a piece of tape. I wouldn't worry much about it.
I got this for myself today and noticed the arms were far apart compared to the width of the bike holder. I had to really push the arm in and the tightly screw it in. Was this the same in your case?
I measured it - its 3 Inches for the ADV tribe piece and the Bike holder piece measures 2.5 Inches. So there is a 0.5 Inch gap where the arms are apart which has to be forcefully screwed in.
Yes. It can be if you keep your speed around 120 for the most part. Anything more and the engine is revving too high. I am probably going to go back to a 45 rear soon.
