Desperately sad. Seems to be a happy couple living in an idyllic location until old age tales it's toll and it all ends with the most humiliating suffering. Definitely one of your best but disturbingly thought provoking. Thanks.
It's sad to see. Feels like one of the couple passed away and the other couldn't cope with the loss. It would explain the hoarding and those buckets. Not been abandoned as long as I was thinking at the start since Hot Fuzz came out on DVD in '07.
I noticed Avatar is on that DVD rack, the first one came out in 2009 i think....so this place hasn't been vacant that long. Amazing how quickly nature can reclaim land and buildings.
Once again, your video's remind me to enjoy my life while I am still here. It's so sad to see that towards the end, that couple obviously suffered. The old adage 'You're only young once' applies and while I am almost 70, I presently am still fit and healthy, but I will redouble my efforts to have more fun.
So sad to see a place like this in such a state. To think this was once a home where people laughed, cried and made memories.....and possibly other things, going by the photos you found.....
I saw nothing in there beyond the early to mid 90s. A mirror and candle holder upstairs and in particular the style of the green men downstairs. Where there was all that blood that seemed to be a bed moved into the room. I would guess further given the more gross side of things, that the chap was either too ill or infirm towards the end, and/or the water supply was poor or lost. I lived in a similar area and wasn't on the mains water supply, it caused great difficulties in times of water shortages. It didn't strike me as that they had children, maybe nieces/nephews or friends children in the photo. No toys except for collectibles at the time. This was a gorgeous house tucked away with tonnes of character. Even if someone could save it, they'd have to break their way in to reclaim the driveway 😮 I loved that the rambling rose continued to live and flower decades after the last owner left..... beautiful, BEAUTIFUL place ❤❤❤
That is heartbreaking 😢 So old and still beautiful in its own way. So many lovely collectable things. If only I was younger and super rich, I would make that my home. Thank you for for showing us that that sweet cottage. Take care and love to you and yours 💖💖
It's incredible how the nature takes over... It looks like the house has sit abandoned for decades, but then there's Avatar in the DVD shelf (and couple of other late 00's films) meaning it's most likely closer to 10 than 20 years when that house was last lived in...
What an exceptional find. It is astonishing how nature reclaims everything. If pants are not required, then a machete is, to get through the bramble. Wonderful video, thank you.
Hi Colin, My attempt to interpret the lives of the home owners here, are that there are two distinctly different generations that have lived here. The much earlier photo of the house with the lady out front was the original occupant with her husband. She was the gardener who put the cherubs all around the garden when she and husband developed it. I think they also collected all the large Chinese ceramics and ethnic sculptures in their travels years ago. But there is the more recent life of a son who never left home. But he was into art , and collected the sixties and seventies music albums, and painted some of them. The painting of a pink face with open mouth flashing white teeth, is a copy of a King Crimson record " In the court of the crimson king" early seventies and all the early Bowie ones, plus the movies you like. The only newish thing i saw was the large flat screen tv, and the computers would have been his too. But he lived on his own once they passed on, couldn't get rid of anything so it became messy and the garden overgrown. That's my take . An arty family with some stunning pieces. The Buddha head you tapped and asked about is cast bronze, South east Asian, lovely. Cheers again. Take a pair of long pants in your back pack, avoid the pain. Cheers again..
Now that he has fully invaded these deceased peoples' privacy and thoroughly humiliated that dude by not remembering for two seconds to blur that in editing and preserve his last shred of dignity... Oh well, nevermind, on to the next adventure!
This place is just something else, although the person who lived in the house was a hoarder we can see through that and can imagine what this place would have been like, the wooden bed frames and the amazing ornaments, buddhas and beautiful wooden wall plaques would have made the home a joy to live in. And then with the garden statues etc I can only think that this would have been very pretty back in the day, and what with how remote this place is would have been an amazing place to live. Absolute awesome find, thank you 😁🫶👍🏻
Great Video, always look forward to your content and love the way you are so respectful of the places that you go to and the privacy you give to former owners ❤️
We're approaching the dead of winter here in the great State of Illinois, and it's plain comforting to see all the green foliage.👀 Very nice video, Colin.✅
I have seen this cottage some while back. It was fairly untouched then but now it's been totally trashed and looks like squatters have been in at some point which is a shame as it was gorgeous and full of antiques and other interesting objects. Sorry about the nettle stings, the pain seems to last for ages but only if you don't rub them with a Dock leaf. Miracle herbal remedy! Works a treat😊.
What an amazing place the garden must have been beautiful. The people had some stunning artwork and objects. I wonder if the guy was a naturist given the photos. Looked like they struggled toward the end. So good to see a summer video in tonight's subzero temperature ❄️☃️ Thanks❤
Those birds seemed happy to see you singing away as your were walking to the house! Fab find, looks like it was a sad end for them at that house. It makes you stop and think how life can change so quickly. Looking forward to next week's.
Thanks Colin, such a lovely video, those explores are rare, like Lucy's House you did years ago, not many people been in stealing item, thanks for sharing it with us.
Well this house is unbelievable I like the Buddha head… yea. The hifi system the speaker in the wall all the DVDs 📀 oohh I like the vintage 🚲as well my Bearded Friend nice find nice video.👀👏👏👏👍👍😎😎
Always look forward to seeing your new Uploads, Colin. Another brilliant find. Such a shame to see the Property in its current Condition. Keep up the great work.
The photo of the man on the bed is actor Brian Rawlinson who was in carry on films and Last of the summer wine to name a few of things he was in and he died in 2000, and it was a lovely video .
Thank you ! I thought I recognized that face💖 I cant out find why he died. I saw the blood on the sofa and suicided crossed my mind. He was as still quite young 😢
I think the house has been occupied beyond 2000, given the modern large flat screen TV and it's Soundbar, so unlikely that the stained bedding is linked to a death there in 2000. It could still be linked to whoever owned the property, but I doubt it was that particular actor.
That looks to have been a beautiful home with an equally lovely garden. The owners had interesting taste and obviously loved music and reading and I would say that they were well travelled. If it weren't for Google I doubt the house would ever have been found !! That was one of your best explores - thank you ! PS When will you learn to wear long 👖 ?!!!!😂
This was outstanding Colin, and so sad to see this beautiful place just left to rot away, hope your legs are not to painful but thank you for sharing this loved it ❤️ 🇬🇧
It looks like this was once a beautiful home, one of the couple passed away and the other one did not long after so so sad story which we don’t know in full detail x ❤
Hi Colin what an amazing video, that house must have been wonderful in its day with that large garden.I agree totally with you to see it as it is now with all those possessions just going to waste, where are the other family members if any?? That was a real jungle trek to get there and Colin you did it again shorts and stinging nettles do not mix!!!! This video must be in your top 10.Look forward to next weeks this one will take some beating. Take care.😃
Dad passed away in 22 and within 6 months the house had cobwebs. We keep going in to clean the house until it’s sold to keep it presentable. It doesn’t take long before a place deteriorates. He was a hoarder and I had to take 7 months off work to clear the garden and buildings. I think families either aren’t there for them or have deserted them. When dad died the family disappeared as it was just too difficult for them to bother they just want the money but some couldn’t give a dam. Sad reality of life.
Hey colin ,have you ever been to les oakes reclaim yard in cheadle , staffordshire . Thats sort of abandoned and forgot about and theres some awesome things left there .
I think he was a ladies man. ,traveled and collected things.Sad though because maybe he was I'll and had no one to care. It had been a beautiful place. The property is still beautiful.👍🇺🇸❤️
The fridge in the box is around 6 years old at most, so someone has been there within that time, I wonder if they were still living in the house with that mess.
Thanks for another amazing video. The lady in the black and white photo and white frame appears to be Eather Rantzen ( of BBC “That’s Life” fame ) or very similar. Some of the videos are less than 15 years old and I’d think the big flat screen TV would help to date it. DVD “Avatar “ came out in 2009 so the interior decay seems much more advanced than the age of the possessions, perhaps left to the elements. So sad to see a house in this state. Thanks again we really enjoy your explores.
Wow, what a treasure to be found. All those things and stuff. They or him, where probably horders, at least til the end. Looks like it. But yes its sad no one claimed the house and the belongings nor sold the property. Its now kinda lika a mausoleum, and a time capsule for those who lived there...
Flowers = Rhodedendrons not Hydrangeas. Similar but more invasive. Lots of gardeners think they are a pest because they spread like wildfire and in some stately homes, they are being removed as they take over. Great vid Colin so interesting. Take Care out there and wear joggers or take some with you - Silly Billy 😜 Janice 👵 xxx Oh, and take sting cream with you just in case. That first photo was of Esther Rantzen and this looks like an actors house.
Great vlog what I don't understand is if the house has been empty for 20yrs+ why is there a naked noodle pot on the dresser in the last bedroom they were certainly not out then .
That's a true shame looked like a lovely big house and garden but the photos but it's been all left to rot everything still in there why haven't the family done something about it looks like been abandoned for many many years was a good explore but a sad one
1st time i have ever seen nudie pictures. Oops! Id say at 20yrs abandoned. What a hike , shorts again Colin, you are daft. Wonder if there were any cars there. Stain did look like blood, very creepy. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The bird life was gorgeous. It does seem he had a lot, but it does seem people have been in a tossed stuff around. It's SO sad. How could people not be interested in all this? Such precious memories. =/ The nasty stuff may have been squatters ... ? Bleh.
Great video bearded Explorer I watch this Sunday the 3rd of December 23 in case people are wondering why I say these and put my dates on it because I don't want to watch them again
Another good video. Great house. I think it was very sad destiny of people who used to live there. I told you long ago - you should wear proper shoes and long pants :)
Yeah but the thing is I was going to say to you you're saying how long does it take just remember mother nature grow you know he doesn't take that long things to grow again
I am wondering if there is a way for you to find out about the owners, and the property, maybe find some family, that would be an interesting ending to a video.
Hundreds, thousands of places like this hidden totally in the middle of nowhere and still counting. Car collections and dozens of vehicles stacked side by side, bumper to bumper barely even visible from behind the bushes. The strangest thing is that nothing is being done with this. If we keep going that way the "Book of Eli" landscape will become a reality sooner than we can imagine...
The actor Brian rawlingson I don't think to be honest with you I don't remember him actually starring in any of the Carry On films I could be wrong but I don't think he did he has starred in some comedy films I remember in the password don't think he starred in any Carry On films

The artwork at 13:49 on the mantle piece is a very good version of the infamous King Crimson album cover from 1969
It's sad to see. Feels like one of the couple passed away and the other couldn't cope with the loss. It would explain the hoarding and those buckets. Not been abandoned as long as I was thinking at the start since Hot Fuzz came out on DVD in '07.
Aging in place. Seen the same thing in our rural area.
I noticed Avatar is on that DVD rack, the first one came out in 2009 i think....so this place hasn't been vacant that long. Amazing how quickly nature can reclaim land and buildings.
I personally don't think it's been abandoned for ages just look at the flatscreen and the newish LG soundbar box etc
Once again, your video's remind me to enjoy my life while I am still here. It's so sad to see that towards the end, that couple obviously suffered. Many imitate but I think you are the best at this genre Colin.

Now that he has fully invaded these deceased peoples' privacy and thoroughly humiliated that dude by not remembering for two seconds to blur that in editing and preserve his last shred of dignity... Oh well, nevermind, on to the next adventure!
We even got to see what it looked like inside their bowels

Finders beepers did this place months ago.
Brilliant as always Colin-you're videos are fascinating!

Hi Colin I just wondered if this house was in the UK? Or France? TIA . Another brilliant video and such a great house too!👍🏼
The bird life was gorgeous. It does seem he had a lot, but it does seem people have been in a tossed stuff around. It's SO sad. How could people not be interested in all this? Such precious memories. =/ The nasty stuff may have been squatters ... ? Bleh.
Ticked all the boxes ✅
If I remember rightly @fidersbeepers did this while ago and Matt fell into that pond 😅
Great video bearded Explorer I watch this Sunday the 3rd of December 23 in case people are wondering why I say these and put my dates on it because I don't want to watch them again
Love these videos. Does anyone know what the music piece is at the start of the videos please? I love that piano 🎹 piece.
I do too. It's beautiful.❤❤❤❤
The lady I'm not sure of,lonely couple maybe with no family🤔❤🇺🇸
Anyone shedding tears?
Great video, but on a serious note could you please read my triplets a bed time story 😂😂😂
I’m getting a LOT of requests for this 😅🙈
Brian Rawlinson died in Lyme Regis Dorset in 2000 age 69. No mention of any other personal details on WIKI.
Great find . I've been trying to find this location for my channel. Can you give me a clue please 🙏
Found it
Send me a message on IG buddy 🙂
Amazing find, great vinyls too ! seems like the person who lived there had a breakdown or serious illness maybe ?
Nothing wrong with their bowels by the looks of things
Definitely not Hydrangeas, they are Rhododendrons !! 👍
Supprised you showed photos,I felt slightly uncomfortable then sausage
If he died in 2000 it has had 23 years to become wild.
Just once Colin, you could turn up to a location, properly dressed 🤣
I am wondering if there is a way for you to find out about the owners, and the property, maybe find some family, that would be an interesting ending to a video.
Can I just say to the person who said about the picture Who been an actor you're absolutely right I've just looked it up oh my days he must have died
Dumb question maybe but why don't you have a pair of long pants in your backpack
where i would like to see it ,
it`s only been abandoned maybe less than 15 years going by the old Sony k800i it came out in 06.?
Those poor buckets of poo gone to waste 😢
Hi bearded Explorer I can tell you what if you're saying it's hot this must be from this summer time then I can tell you now it is bloody freezing out
And theres people sleeping in the streets and house left there
Hundreds, thousands of places like this hidden totally in the middle of nowhere and still counting. Was not expecting the naked man photo 😂
How'd you get access to this place?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍
Dude u are walking through so much poison ivy!
Can I communicate with you? I am from Kuwait
Prop artist
Could relations have gone through?
If i was you I'd go get that regal van off that clown and get someone else to sort it out
The actor Brian rawlingson I don't think to be honest with you I don't remember him actually starring in any of the Carry On films I could be wrong but I don't think he did he has starred in some comedy films I remember in the password don't think he starred in any Carry On films
No family to check on them? Emergency services? Long long journey to the estate.
