Ilse, I'm sorry to hear your Grandmother passed away. Even though it was several years ago, it always feels like it was just yesterday that they were here. She had some really pretty jewelry. I love the brooches and the pendants. I knew you were a Pisces sister. I am a Pisces too. Elderly people, especially women, always give me ASMR. And yes, definitely Bob Ross. I still watch his videos to this day. I don't know when your birthday is;March or February? But, Happy Birthday to you! I love this video and watch and listen to it quite often.
I just love this video. It’s so clear that you had such a bond with your grandma. I miss mine so much. Very true about pendants and/or brooches looking good on older people. I know it’s an older video but I just now saw it for the first time. Very tingly, thank you!
I really appreciate how slow, thoughtful and deliberate you are with hand movement. You are so aware of how this seemingly small detail conveys relaxation in a way that cues the brain that many other asmrtists do not consider.
Thank you for sharing all of her beautiful jewelry with us.This video reminded me so much of my grandma who recently passed away. She also wore a lot of jewelry very similar to the jewelry your grandmother wore.I feel that if i went into my grandmas jewelry box id get really sentimental because i miss her so much! Thanks again for this lovely ASMR video :)
Thank you for all the feedback and for letting me know how things are called and how you pronounce certain things ;) I've heard it so many times now that I can't forget ever again :) Much love ilse
Bob Ross, huh? His voice gives me ASMR too, and his paintings are beautiful. He makes painting look easy! But it's cool that your grandma was with him.
The things you wear on clothes are called Broaches yes :-) your grandma sounds like such a caring person. she must really mean a lot to you and thats a sign that how shes connected to bob ross in that way and how you do asmr i find it really cool. makes a great story! you should write a book :D
Andrea Seigel sent me here! Her report about ASMR on This American Life floored me. I get ASMR mostly on the left side of my body, the tingles start behind my left ear, and goes all the way down to above my left knee. Glad to know I'm not the only weirdo out there, haha. I loved to watch Bob Ross as well :D
I know this video is really old and you'll never see this, but the stone necklace you showed at 6:20 (it's citrine I think) is not only gorgeous, but I have the same one!!! Mine isn't citrine though, it's amethyst, but besides that they're the exact same necklace.
I'm glad you are honoring your grandma's jewelry. Both dark red necklaces look like garnet. That first one you showed, with the bumpy natural surface is called druzy. The orange ring looks like coral. I understand your comment about old people and their old jewlery, that wouldn't work well on younger people! I have a friend from the Netherlands. I miss her!
I dont know if you still read comments on here, but I wanted to say your grandmother had beautiful, unique taste in jewelry. Boxes of treasure, really.
the dutch speaking community of asmrtists is sooo good, original, soothing, and i like the sort of chill attitude, and you're like the biggest representer of that ilse
Ilse, this is such an incredible video! Never did I think, that I could feel such complete peace & comfort...from watching someone talk about jewelry. But, with your amazing voice & your Grandmothers beautiful collection...I am in a trance! Thank you SO much for taking the time to make these. You are such a wonderful person!!Ik hoop dat je al het geluk in het leven dat je verdient!!
This is the very first video I watched on utube.. when I searched feeling of wellbeing through touch or speech.. I didn't know what asmr was.. I just knew the feeling. Have a great summer.
Thank you so much for another wonderful video, and for sharing your memories of your grandmother with us. I feel very privileged that you are willing to share such a personal part of yourself and your life with your viewers. You are such a lovely soul. Sending you love from the United States!
I think it's always so sweet how you tell your viewers that you love us. Thank you! I actually really appreciate that, and I think I speak for so many when I say, We love you too!
Forty-two thousand plus subscribers. This is simply amazing. I had no idea this was a thing. Thank you TAL for constantly improving my quality and understanding of life. I feel like there is a little piece of myself that I understand and appreciate a lot more now. And if not for the internet - who would have ever known there were others? What a great time to be alive. :)
Someone may have told you by now, but the pin that goes on your clothes is called a "brooch" (rhymes with "coach" and "poach"). I like your jewelry show and tell videos a lot! My grandma also has an abundance of interesting necklaces and bracelets. Thanks for your content!
I love the meaning of this video and the story behind it. Jewellery is something quite personal and interesting, so thank you for sharing. Love all of your videos!
I adore being shown jewellery, especially jewellery with a back story. One of my very first ASMR experiences was being shown jewellery by my own grandmother. I love the little soft clinking noises of the metals and the stones. This video is probably my favourite of yours to date. Amazing :)
I am addicted to your videos right now, Ilse. You are really really master of a.s.m.r. I always fall asleep while i am watching your videos. I love you so much xo
Selena Bryant I used to fake being sick if he was on--on a particular day! I was the perfect age, to be in synch with Bob Ross' Joy of Painting show. I was in Jr High when it started. Of course I hadnt yet been diagnosed with ASMR, as they didn't know about it yet!
Omg You’re the most sincere beautiful human being Ilsa! Of course you’re a Pisces...I knew there was a reason I always feel so drawn to you and your videos!
Whoa, my grandmother gave me my 1st ASMR experiences too. She used to brush my hair out for me when it was wet and was soooo careful not to pull on it. I used to watch her crafting for hours too and get tingles. Happy memories, thanks for bringing them back :)
Oh my goodness, Bob Ross was the first person to ever give me brain tingles too! I was 8 years old. For years I've been listening to his videos to help me sleep. I thought I was the only one who would get these tingles. Then my boyfriend discovered your channel and he showed me your videos. You have the best videos. You help me sleep, relax and unwind. Thank you for the brain tingles! You are wonderful!!
@@TheWaterwhispersASMR Gladly! She hosted an episode of a podcast called "This American Life", episode 491 "A Tribe called Rest" (Act Two). This was my introduction to your channel (which I have come to love!) and ASMR generally. Apparently she really loved this video you made about your grandmother's jewelry which she stumbled on because of the odd spelling (with the 2 L's!). Please give it a listen if you haven't already, I'm sure you would get a kick out of it!
I've never heard of ASMR before, I was just enjoying watching videos of people's jewellery collections. My first reaction to the video was "Why on earth is this girl whispering the whole time and what does ASMR stand for?" I continued to watch and noticed how relaxed I was feeling. When you started touching the box I was feeling so tingly and awesome I had to do a Google search on ASMR. Anyway, this was a really cool experience I can't wait to watch more of your videos!
I also heard about this on This American Life. I don't know understand ASMR, but right now I have a terrible stomach ache while watching this. Is that ASMR?
Your Grandma sounds like she was a wonderful lady :) my Grandma didn't have a lot of possessions around the time she passed away, but I do have a small bead from an old bracelet she had. Just one small red bead, but I still treasure it :) I love the video!! :)
Hi Ilse! This is one of your videos that I keep coming back to! The historical details about the jewelry are so interesting. I'd love to see other jewelry videos! Thank you so much for everything that you do for our community!
I loved Bob Ross! I would watch him to genuinely enjoy his painting and work but always fell asleep. I'd wake up later and be mad I didn't see his finished work. I also would get the tingles from his show. Thank you for sharing your Grandma's jewelry with us. They are my favorite videos of yours to watch. It's cool to see things from other cultures and countries. :)
The brown pendant on the necklace that you show on 6:00-6:50, looks like a Druzy to me. Druzy's look like that-they're BEAUTIFUL and so is that one! RIP to your grandma.
Your grandmothers jewelry is very beautiful. This video is very meaningful to me, because I like to go through my great grandmothers jewelry as well. I never knew her personally, but to go through her jewelry and to try to imagine how she was and what memories were attached to the items was always precious to me. Thank you. :)

I love this video :) it reminds me of when I was a kid and I would play with my grandma's jewelry. She passed away almost 2 years ago from Alzheimer's as well. This video was very comforting for me because I still miss her and my grandpa very much, so thank you for that ^_^
I love jewelry videos by you. Your accent and pace is soothing. I like the necklace sounds, and in your other jewelry request, I liked the big bracelet sounds. Thank you for all you do. Your videos always help me rest better.
Fantastic whisper video...just great personal content and your whisper voice is excellent for tingles. Thank you... Bob Ross was also early ASMR experiences for me...but back then there wasn't a label yet for it. Love, love love Bob Ross and still watch his videos to this day. It was definetly his almost whisper of a voice coupled with the sounds of the brushes and canvas and the beautiful landscapes he created that did the trick for me. So very relaxing...
This video is great. Objects that belonged to the people we used to love are able to let us feel in touch with them.. it's amazing. thank you for sharing this...
That was lovely! I lived in Amsterdam before the euro came, and I have lots of the old coins! I am definitely going to get them made into necklace pendants like ur Grandma's! I loved this video! Would love to see the two other jewellery ideas you mentioned! Xxx
It’s 2021 and i still come back to these show and tell videos ❤️❤️ please make a new one Ilse we love them
