In this video I am building a CPU Mining Rig with a AMD Ryzen 3950x Beast of a consumer grade CPU for the purpose of mining crypto. I prefer the 3000 series over the 5000 as they seem to perform just as well but being last gen you can find them much cheaper making that ROI that much sweeter.

what speed is the memory flarex has different speeds cl14 yup but what speed just like to know great video , im building some 3900x so i can copy your ram lol.

CL14 3200, 16 gb. Plenty fast as is, tweaks with that xflare Samsung b-die are definitely significant with some algos more then others (xmr, etc). I have used 32gb in testing multiple algos but no significant increase in hashrate, keeping power consumption in mind 16gb is plenty. 3900x x3 dedicated to mining, home work station mines through the night. 6 GPU rig x 2, added two more GPUs but I installed them on two of the 3900x mining rigs. Working great. Recently spec mining different coins, trying to figure out what the “after ETH” lol

I have that CPU in my daily driver personal/work computer, i got it, almost two years ago, brand new below MSRP at my local shop because no one was buying them :p
To be honest, there is no way i use it exclusively for mining, it is a complete waste, that CPU is incredible for coding/compiling and even virtualization :p

@@ind7igo I have 5 rigs now at 3800mhz & 1.1 volts and another rig at 3600mhz & 1.0 volts. I'm getting a little more than what rabid is per rig. 3600mhz cl14 ram helps
Didn't know how to build a CPU rig w/o the GPU. Thank you! BTW you can try mining QRL with that rig. I'm at ~4KH/s, it's little profit, but I'm holding till price goes up!

@@dastardlyman I agree Windows mining is fine but Hiveos gives you an easy way to monitor and make adjustments to each system remotely.

Did I miss in the other videos...how do you pull off not having a video card on these rigs? I have wondered how you pull that off, unless after setting up autologins...everything works.
Thank you Rabid Mining, I made my first 100 than 200 RMT's thanks to you yesterday. Kind of funny seeing the 3900x cranking so well and how many Intel CPU's it takes to get 2 KH/S.
My main rig has a i5 9600 with 32gb 3200mhz, mining eth at 196.5mh/s with 6x Rx 580s and raptoreum under 1kh. Also farming chia with 7 drives for a total of 76.3TB. on hiveos

Eps 8pin is rated for 275W and at least using 5950x you can draw a bit more than that with decent cooling and overclock
Pro-Tip -- turn off autofocus on your camera
Awesome stuff, how much RAM does an RTM rig need and what kind of PSU? If you would put some GPU's on it, could it do RTM and some GPU coin at the same time ?
8gb should be fine yes you can GPU Mine as well with it always use atleast a gold rated PSU size will depend if you are going to use GPUs or not.
My motherboard MSI X570 Gaming Plus booted without a video card only after I changed the bios settings in the section Advanced -> Integrated Peripherals -> VGA Card Detection. In the "VGA Card Detection" field i changed the value from "Auto" to "Ignore".

OH NO! its another video for the hashrates! the ONLY thing i would do differently - i would use standard pbo - let the cpu boost normally with xmp profile with a nice after market cpu cooler. this is because i think raptoreum (or monero or turtle or whatever) will pump a lot this winter - SO its worth getting more AND BEING INEFFICIENT - to get more coins - so long as you sell them at market peak. however i respect you as the cpu mining efficiency MASTER. best wishes . ps the amd wraith prism is great on ryzen 3600 .

I have a 6 gpu rig with a Ryzen 5 3600X in it. Would it be better to swap out motherboards so I can use the Ryzen 5 3600X cpu by itself or could I just have it mine RTM while the 6 5700XT gpu's mine ETH? I am in the process of building 2 dedicated Ryzen 9 3900X cpu mining rigs as well.

another good video and build. I will be glad when I get the funds to build my first cpu rig, mining raptoreum on a desktop and laptop with an i5 and an i7 cpu makeing about .18 a day and mining monero on a slower laptop and desktop. most likely burning more in electric but learning as I play with them, I am about to retire and I do scrap metal as a hobby and youtube channel. the plan is to get a few mining rig's up and paid for before I get too old to work the scrap. so mining will supplement my ssi and give me something to do, I have a 8 x 16-foot building that I plan to put the miners in, keep up the good work. I may start with your $400.00 dollar build but it may cost about $500.00 with todays prices. thanks for your inspiration and showing how to build. how would a cpu/gpu build be? double duty could you do it in hive or have to use windows.

How much difference do motherboards actually make in CPU mining? Is it possible to use mini-ITX in order to reduce space?
Yes for sure only need higher end if you want to OC it a lot

Gotta ask, the cooler.. do you only have the power cord plugged in? Or are the other 2 cords plugged in as well?
Just run the fan header the other cables are for controlling rgb if the mb supports it. Am just mining and in hiveos so I don't use it.

I just got a 3900X for $293 AUD used and OEM cooler new not used from Ebay the cheapest I found and just bought a 5900X for $539 AUD new that came down from $799 AUD. Thought why not start mining on CPUs

I have an MSI x570 mobo for my 3950x . Is there any benefit over the x470 mobo?
X570 will have better OC ability's over an x470 higher resale value and will use a bit more power overall.
Throw this cooler on one of the 3900x and put the Noctua on this one.
ya for sure could defiantly do that and try to see what we can squeeze out of this thing :) so far the stock cooler is just fine on efficient settings.
Im starting to set up some dedicated Ryzen 9 3900x mining rigs and im wondering how much a difference does a motherboard make? if so, which is the best?
Depends what you wanna do it doesn't really matter if you wanna run 3.6-3.8gh but if you want to OC higher will need better motherboards.

2x8gb is 160 CAD can't fund this RAM in 2x4gb here

@@FrankGiuliani I use the g.skill in all mine use my link :) but don't notice a huge different so the cl16 is just fine. I just ordered the g.skill for my workstation it previously had the cl16.

Any GPU will work just need display a cheap gt710 or something even worse is fine

@@985haus it will see it just like setting up a GPU but you set up the OC in the bios
Hi, this MB has HDMI port. Isn't it enough to plug-in any display in order to set up BIOS? I'm just going to build my first rig.
No sadly the CPUs for Ryzen do not have integrated graphics unless its a G chip.

I mean ambients where I mine are high in the summer so maybe it was the right move. What do you think? In high ambients, will a $40 or $50 cooler do just fine? Or are your ambients not high in warmer weather?

I have a Ryzen 5800X installed on a gigabyte B550 MB trying to mine RTM, but the temps are getting too high(80) and the system is shutting down. any suggestions? TIA

@@RabidMining CPU setting? I am using stock setting on my MB and default setting on everything else. Running on Hive OS
@@RabidMining followed the instruction and changed the CPU voltage to 1v and the cpu is running lot cooler now
is cpu mining still profitable now? because like chia mining network higher from time to time and difficult are increase...
thats how every coin works not just chia thing is chia opened big and crashed RTM has been around for a while and slowly growing
I am getting a GPU driver error on hiveos after I removed the GPU and it is constantly rebooting. Did you do anything special to get this to work/not happen?

@@RabidMining yes but it is rebooting every 10 minutes. Any idea how to turn the auto reboot off? I have 2 other identical rigs that have zero gpus in the settings screen... This one has 1 and it won't let me set it to zero. Says that's invalid.
I worked it out. Although I have 3 other identical rigs in close proximity to each other, this particular rig is closest to the exhaust of some GPU rigs I own. It's hotter than other rigs. I removed the over locks and ran it stock and now it gets the error once and does not reboot. The error was a red herring. Hope this helps others.
To mine XMR with a Ryzen 9, do you need 32GB of ram or is 16GB of ram enough? Greetings.

3950x is a bit more the 3900x is the best bang for buck
