Agree Mark. The integrity of the FA Cup has been compromised by the loss of replays in ties. The erosion of footballing tradition in favour of the big clubs and the prioritising of the PL and European football is just alienating the grassroots of the game. They are ripping the heart out of everything that is sacred in football.
Villa fan here. I think we’ll heavily rotate tonight and there’s no shot we allow it to go to a replay with all the games comin up so if it’s level late we’ll probably go all guns blazing n leave gaps at the back so someone wins it… But I think we’ll take the L. 2 key Champions League games soon to get in that top-8. The entire team might be rotated honestly. Good luck.
@ I been following you boys for a while man since the Duran saga. This dude is funny n I got love for Lawless n all that. I been saying for a while Potter is the guy you should want. He’s a special manager. Shouldn’t be judged on his time at Chelsea cos if ya look at Arteta at Arsenal (finished 8th both his first 2 seasons) and Klopp at Liverpool (also finished 8th his first season) they both woulda been sacked by Chelsea in year one. Great managers need time to implement their styles particularly in Potter’s instance as they sold virtually their entire squad that season and signed almost an entire new squad of players and had no striker. Lampard took over n they could barely win a game. Then Pochettino took over n had them bottom half most of the season until they hit form late. I look at this as similar to Howe to Newcastle. Did an unbelievable job with Bournemouth but ultimately got them relegated. Took a year off. Said he learned a massive amount in that year and studied the game and mistakes he made. Went in at Newcastle in a relegation battle n just made them solid at the back playing pragmatic football n shot them up the table. The next season was able to implement his possession-based style n has shown how great a coach he is. People give Brighton’s hierarchy too much credit for Potter’s work imo. They played absolutely woeful football under Hughton before Potter came in and their recruitment was bang average/bad with busts like Locadia and Maupay… It was Potter who completely changed their style of play and the players they brought in. They just never got him that good striker get on the end of his often league-leading xG numbers. But he got them a top-half finish n left them in the top-4 for de Zerbi to take the credit. Crazy how people play down Potter’s ability all of a sudden based off Chelsea and give him such little credit for Brighton.
I think we need to calm ourselves a bit, anything other than a thumping is an improvement. There's no way we win this tonight on the form of our squad and the length of time Potter has had to work with the players. We could potentially scrape pens, but I'm expecting an easy 2-0 win for those brummy spengs.
Danny Welbeck had a bit of a later career resurgence with Brighton - was Graham Potter instrumental in that? And if so could he do the same for Danny Ings?
I am so excited again, can’t remember the last time, it’s been that long. But will say…missed the boat & what a player Duran is…but J Lop would have broke him anyway 😂⚒️
The last time Villa won anything was the Intertoto cups in 2001 & 2008,but domestic trophy's were the 2 league cups in 1994 & 1996..... up the fuck'in Villa!!!! 🤫
There’s no replay for the game today mate so won’t be going back to our stadium, will be penalties tonight to see who goes through 👍🏼
The last time we played Villa in the cup, we won it! ⚒🏆⚒🏆⚒
Duran is banned tonight. No replays in the cup now.
Yeah let's hope now we go out and give villa a game. Let's play our strongest team and hopefully go on a good cup run.
Agree but what is our strongest team in Potters eyes, will be intetesting
Not really much choice but he as only been here since yesterday. Going to be tough but let's hope we give it ago

We’re just hoping Potter can do the same thing Emery did for you guys.. it’s been tough for us this year.

Different physicality between Welbeck and Ings but I get your point
I don't think we have replays if its a draw it'll be penalties
No replay goes to pens after xtra 30

No replays …re team selection assuming Emerson is fit I’d start him if not I’d play Cresswell and bring on the youth player as a sub
COYI
Apparently, David Moyes is going to Everton two year contract,,,,, Guarantee Everton finish up above West Ham for the next two seasons
Villa haven't won a trophy since the 90s so are looking for domestic silverware

agree a draw... but maybe 2:2 ... and then we sneak it on penalties .. will be praying COYI
Must win tonight, no excuses from anyone, its a cup game, also watch the interview with Lopetegui he said the same as Potter hahaha
You sound a bit delusional if you think coming to Villa is a must win ,are you the moose in disguise.
@clario2178 ok lets not win a cup game 🤪
Duran to score 2
Jhon Duran is suspended for the game, available for Everton away next week mate. 💯💜💙😜
@amlmorris Thank God for that then!! 😂😂
