Ty so much for this tutorial so I think I get it now because of bayos 1st witch twist hitbox because it's big that's how you get the witch strike and I In order to do the opponent has to be either around or underneath right Around her leg/foot area correct?
In a nutshell, Correct. (Just to reiterate, the 1st twist is smaller, and both twists are strikeable) But there are many more things you have to look out for and be able to execute, which I will explain in a future video.
@@suzutora7927 okay good I hope that video releases cause I can only do the byleth training thing so yeah it he great to explain in further detail and more examples from how to do and how to apply it also screw everyone saying bayo easy this girl takes skill.
I might just say... you explain everything BUT the witch strike itself. Like, what hitbox am I suppose to hit ? at what distance ? at what height ? I don't want to be a bitch but you explain legit nothing but setups and the properties of WTw
I'll explain it for you, then. You're supposed to hit the very tip of the first hitbox. This usually occurs at a much further distance than if you were trying to land a normal Witch Twist, but can also be achieved by landing the very bottom of the first hitbox or if you are extremely close to Bayonetta (almost on the other side of her). He sort of explains the conditions to land it at 2:08 (although they're more setups than conditions). Although not required, wave bouncing can be extremely helpful in getting Witch Strikes more consistently since the core concept of a Witch Strike is landing only the first hit and none of the others. To do this, while airborne and facing right (if facing left just mirror the controls), put your control stick to the top and very slightly to the left. Now do a Double Jump Cancel Witch Twist (yes, it does need to be double jump cancelled and not a raw Witch Twist) and then immediately force your control stick to the right. Starting from when you were originally facing right, this should result in you facing left very briefly and then facing right again and finishing facing right. You should also notice a bit of a momentum shift if you pulled it off correctly which should help in pulling the other hitboxes away from the opponent. If you faced right the whole time, you didn't put your control stick far enough to the left. If you finished facing left, you didn't flick your control stick back to the right in time. All of this needs to be done in about a 7 frame window, so it's going to take trial and error to master. I think I'm going to make my own video on Witch Striking soon so watch out for that. I even have a Witch Strike clip on my channel under the name "Schmixed" if you want to see.
Sorry for being late. Witch Strike: A fancy name for hitting the very first hitbox (frame 6) of UpB which doesn't connect into the other later hitboxes of UpB. Distance: Anywhere as long as it doesn't connect. But here's a consistent setup to experiment with it. 1. Training mode 2. Battlefield, choose Byleth as CPU (and Bayo for you) 3. Go on the platform where Byleth is on, and stand on the left side on the platform without touching Byleth at all. 4. Roll to the left 5. Fall through the platform, and immediately JC UpB 6. Witch Strike 7. If you're not getting it, do the UpB faster. Height: Anywhere as long as it doesn't connect, BUT it will be easier if you focus on getting it barely touching her feet. Thank you for your feedback! I explained it here, but will try to make a video about it for those who don't understand. Thanks again!
Exactly what I needed , thank's a lot . Ppl where telling me it was just matter of spacing without any indications lol
