Bagrock at it's best, I've been on stage with these guys a few times, you need to hear them live. My ex was a piper in Celtica Pipes Rock and she could make them sing (I sounded and looked like I was doing something nasty with an octopus). You should also check out The Phantom Piper (my ex).
Went to Primary School with this boy who played bagpipes from the age of 5, so over here in Scotland we do show and tell like...once every so often randomly. EVERY SHOW AND TELL! This boy brings the bag pipes, not to knock the bagpipes but if your in class with the same guy for years you know what he is gonna do. We get to high school....Talent show....SAME GUY AND HIS BAG PIPES! so 5 years of that! Would not be so bad.....if I didnt live across from his house, during the summer holidays hot summers day him and his bag pipes! And any special events.... Fast forward its has been 25 years since the first day of Primary School and I get told by my friends "Oh you know Andrew? He will be on Mrs Browns Boys tonight" I reply "Why is Andrew on an Irish Comedy show?" turns out he not only was on Mrs Browns Boys but plays with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers...I STILL CANT ESCAPE THE BOY AND HIS PIPES!!! Can hire him as a Gardner tho...does good work around here.
These are Scotish Highland Pipes. They are a centuries old 'folk' instrument that the Scots adopted to use to get the clan psyched up as they marched into battle. Another good player is 'The Bad Piper' doing Thunderstruck. It's a short video but a really good laugh.
For dance-bagpipes there's The Sidh with Shake Your Bagpipes, which is awesome :D Edited to say - if the bagpipes confuse you, how about a Hurdy Gurdy? :D
Hello Gentleman i'm a new one to you're channel this is the 2nd vid i've watched I love the sound of Bagpipes, will be watching more of you're vids, the chemistry between you 2 is very good, You probably know that Wiesbaden, Germany is the birthplace of Tennis legend John McEnroe
My ex-brother-in-law was at a meeting as a journalist in an Edinburgh City Council meeting. The head of the council at the time was going through things to be proud of as Scots and referred to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Quite a few in the room looked puzzled, just goes to show the cluelessness of politicians.
ACDC's "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock'N'Roll) has bagpipes in it (played by their original singer Bon Scott). please do a reaction to it, the official video is on YT.
There are lots of different bagpipes around the world, the ones they play are Scottish Highland Pipes. I wasn't a huge fan of this instrument either until I discovered Skerryvore who also have a couple of Highland bagpipers. Skerryvore gig a lot in the USA. They call themselves celtic rock but they have influences of other genres.
These guys are awesome and so fun. Classically trained and I suspect alcohol was involved in their getting the idea of blowing off steam playing rock. Saw them live when they were first starting in New Hampshire at the Highland Games, they totally rocked the house. I saw little kids dancing on their grandpa’s shoulders. I saw the older piper do a Jimmy Hendrix sliding on this knees across the stage piping his ass off and making everyone laugh their butts off and cheer. That’s my Dougie playing thing pipe solo in this. (He’s a cop now.) They were the last concert I saw before Covid shutdown, March 2020. ♥️
You need to check out Spiders by the Peatbog Faeries. Totally amazing pipes and fiddle music like you've never heard before. Or listen to them play Strictly Sambuca (my personal favourite). Almost 9 minutes long so start at about 5 and a half minutes in. It's mind blowing and even better live.
You should check out Ross and Ali Pressed for Time, written by Gordon Duncan, the best piper of all time, who also wrote the bagpipe music for Thunderstruck, it 3 guys one on the bagpipes, one on the guitar and the other with a whistle and it’s amazing
You should watch The Gael (Last of the Mohicans theme) from the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2008. Enjoy. Also watch onboard Nordschleife lap from the Porsche 919 farewell tribute tour. Edit - I keep asking, maybe one day 🍻
Seen these guys live so many times. Haha. Now react to Peatbog Fairies and Afrocelt Sound System. My uncle is a (bag) Pipe Major and my dad and brother play the pipes. You can imagine my house as a child.
Dudes great pipers eh ! How ever craziest dream tother night Ossie from Sabbath morphed into Dickinson from Iron Maiden & by holy hell they rocked no kidding ! Greatest gig in ma dreams would nae that be awesome
I first heard Amazing Grace played on the pipes. It literally stopped me in my tracks it was so utterly beautiful. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the unit... something and Greys?
Seen them live before, they have better sets. Daniel's not getting it 🤔. Try bagpipes with Electronic music 😲. Scooter - The Sound Above My Hair. (Their pipers are better dressed 😇)
Hi lads. Been watching your channel for a few weeks now. Love it. I have a scottish comedy that I would like to recommend for you guys to react to. Its called Still Game. I would say its the best comedy to ever come out of Scotland. Alot of Americans also love it. I dont think you would be disappointed. Keep up the good work :)
Check out It's a Vase Productions, if you haven't already, he's just starting series 6, his reactions are great, agree wholeheartedly about Still Game being the best comedy from Scotland 👌
@@alangray2976 There is a guy called Jay Peezy also currently reacting to still game, also BxKid7 who completed his still game reactions months ago.... that guy is a new yorker and he loves it, he even made the Daily Record newspaper for bringing still game to america.
When England conquered Scotland by beating Bonnie Prince Charlie they banned the bagpipes!! Apparently when the English troops heard the Pipes coming towards them it made them want to turn tail and run. They knew death was coming for them. So the Pipes where outlawed. It never stopped the Scots from playing them where they could though ;)
Never heard them before now, the expression that comes to mind is gobshite! Only for tourists. Although I'm from Scotland I don't identify as such, thank goodness.
Tom Walker & Red Hot Chilli Pipers - Leave A Light On is just amazing 🤩

I'm so glad you like these awesome dudes I have them on repeat as they frickin rock🤘😎
Bagpipes can play beautiful music.
Love the RHC Pipers , i saw them a few years ago Live at the Glasgow Mela Festival and a large crowd stood in torrential rain to watch them play .
I’ve seen a crowd watch them in the rain as well. WORTH IT.

Played bagpipes for almost 20 years. Its more versatile than you think and these guys are extreme in bringing the pipes into popular culture..
I remember recommending this. Try Clanadonia for mad scottish drummers.

The pipes are an acquired taste but I, as a Scot, will be laid to rest by "Highland Cathedral". Its the only thing I really want.
My Dad was a Piper for over 50 years and I love the sound of bagpipes x
"When they're done right they sound great
When they're done wrongh they sound horrible"
Amen to that
they come from scotland, in nothern england they are smaller called northumbrian pipes
For dance-bagpipes there's The Sidh with Shake Your Bagpipes, which is awesome :D
Edited to say - if the bagpipes confuse you, how about a Hurdy Gurdy? :D
My wife is going to see these guys later this year. Thier 'Avicci - wake me up' cover is outstanding
I remember 2 of my neighbours joining the local pipe band as a kid.
It was awful for so long before they got good 😂

Bagpipes have two volume settings: "Off" and "Loud AS FUCK"
I personally love good bagpipe playing, I have Scottish ancestry so maybe it's genetic lol

They might even be playing live somewhere near you at the moment. Pretty sure they’re in the states at the moment.
You guys need to check out Pete and Diesel if you like traditional Scottish music with a modern rock twist.
Checkout Battle by Wolfstone.
Daniel looks like someone’s removing his skin slowly with a Stanley knife.
Check out the pikes peak highlanders pipes &drums!
Sorry meant hellbound train ,my mistake.
Lads you need to watch them do journey, don’t stop believing!!! Brill 👍
Red Hot Chilli Pipers - Insomnia Live
If you really want to see classic Rock done in an unusual way, check out Steve 'n' Seagulls - who BTW, do a great version of Thunderstruck.
We love stev n seagulls especially that song. Its the banging on the anvil that drives the song home for us.
Ah, OK - you're aware of them. I saw them last year in Bristol, England. A great show. Definitely recommend them for a night out.
Dudes great pipers eh ! How ever craziest dream tother night Ossie from Sabbath morphed into Dickinson from Iron Maiden & by holy hell they rocked no kidding ! Greatest gig in ma dreams would nae that be awesome
Now check out the Red Hot Chilli Pipers - "Fat Bottomed Girls", or as they call it, "Fat Arsed Lassies:!
See if you were A Scot that sound gives you gooses.
You can do so much with a bagpipe unfortunately people only hear them when they are played with traditional music.
Please react to any song of Red Hot Chili Peppers (Scar Tissue, Californication, etc.).

Class 🏴 please do them at Glasgow airport 🙌🤙
If bagpipes got you independence then we really wouldn’t need the SNP 😂
It’s a long way to the top original version had bagpipes
Definition of a gentleman: one who knows how to play the pipes, but doesn’t
Please react to red got chilli piper’s insomnia and runaway train.
Their ignorance was overwhelming! When practising they just use the chanter....so fairly quiet; and barely intrusive.
Nothing wrong with men in kilts!!! 😂
I'm totally with Daniel ha,it was good though
£5 a week can help ween a Scotsman off the bagpipes, donate now.
