They started marking the yarn down at 2 of my hobby lobby stores today! I heard they want to remodel where the yarn section is and so the yarn clearance is starting early this year!😻
The earthquakes in Turkey may well have a knock on effect for yarn production generally as they are the yarn spinners of the world & there are already concerns about damaged machinery.
Just like walmart they want you to look at other things while you shop for yarn. I noticed they were changing things up this weekend in our store but didn't have long to investigate lol. I will be going back tomorrow to check it out a little bit more. We need their yarn it's some of the best and we'll organized. Other than that it's Joanns for yarn which isn't bad, but hobby lobby is my favorite place to shop for yarn.

Same with the Hobby Lobby in Johnson City Tennessee. Where the yarn used to be, picture frames and baskets. Used to have 6 yarn isles now there’s 2. There’s supposedly a yarn shortage because of the earthquakes in Turkey but I also believe Hobby Lobby is revamping all their stores 😢kinda sad
Thanks for the heads up. I don't need yarn right now, but I like to keep extra on hand for that inspiration moment, and I don't have time to go out, or it's not on sale. I won't buy regular price unless I need just one more skein.

A lot of yarn is imported from other countries, and that maybe the problem. The stores here in Texas have lots of yarn, but you never can tell, may change. Texas stores have the yarn in the back part of their stores. I see a lot of yarn on your video.
I was worried when I first saw no yarn. That’s the only place I go with the exception of small yarn stores and webs. I so happy they still carry yarn and in front of the store is so much better for me!! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh! I thought you were going to say Hobby Lobby was going to quit carrying yarn and I was about to cry. Hobby lobby is the only store in my area that has a decent selection. Walmart is horrible, Joann has a lot of space for yarn but it’s not stocked and michaels is the worst!
Omigosh I so sorry I scared you!! 😭😂 I was scared to death when I went to the back and there was no yarn! The Joann’s in my area are ok, but all of the Michael’s are going way downhill as far as yarn is concerned 😭
I called both of my stores here & was told they are no longer going the semi annual clearance sales. I'm so bummed seeing almost everyone re stocking their stashes bc post holidays I'm down to very little yarn. Also they won't honor clearance prices on line🙄
It seems like my local Hobby Lobby has about half as much yarn after the clearance and they are replacing a whole yarn isle with decorating stuff. :(. :(. I'm so sad!! And there is no more sock yarn. I'm going to cry.

I went a few days ago. They were moving the yarn section but only about 4 rows, so about mid way now - a little better. They said the clearance sale has been TWO WEEKS earlier so I missed out on that. :(
One Hobby Lobby in my area has marked down their yarn, but the one I usually go to hasn’t marked it down yet. However they were changing a lot of the aisles around, and added a large card section in the sewing department.

LOL it's ok Ginger, HL would never stop selling yarn, they know better than to do that. Half of their customer base would be gone! lol. Some HL's however, are starting to clearance there yarn, but it's very few. I know that my HL usually starts around June.

I was excited when a Hobby Lobby opened in a nearby town. That excitement died quickly. I wanted to buy some yarn and a pattern for a baby blanket. I needed a pattern. No patterns or pattern books! I was told all Hobby Lobby stores have discontinued all patterns and pattern books. I’m also a quilter. I like to pick out a pattern then find yarn or material. I’m not about to go to two different stores so I guess it back to Joann’s or on line. Disappointing.

Today my Hobby Lobby had less isles of yarn 🧶 and a long line of shopping carts at the back of store full of yarn. No indication where they’re moving to in the store.
Well it's nice to see not all your yarn has disappeared as in the Hobby Lobby by me. I was so lost and confused. We have only three aisles of yarn mostly all I love This Yarn only and a select few others. I didn't see any much of notions at all. No bag of buttons or ribbons etc. Maybe I'm hoping they were till putting it together.
I was told that they reduced the yarn to make room for more seasonal (junk) items! I never buy seasonal items and they seemed to have enough of them before. Our HL is looking more like a dollar store than the hobby store it started out being.
I had noticed in my Hobby Lobby last week that they were moving the yarn aisles. Not sure if I like where they are moving them too, but just very happy they still have all their yarn. I guess we all will have to adapt to their changes. I definitely need to get back to mine and see what is going on and if any thing is on sale. MN stores are marking down. Didn't hit the 2 I go to as I didn't have the time and I really didn't need more. I spent about $38. at the Maplewood store. Kept it small.
I have not stepped inside Hobby Lobby for 2 years now! I am glad you found the yarn! I go to Michaels and Joann or Walmart. I make hats for homeless so Acrylic is pretty easy to find. Even Red Heart has gone way up in price!! Yikes 😬
You might try Ebay....sometimes you get a huge box of acrylic yarn for barely anything and the usually include shipping. You meet such nice ladies that have retired because of arthritis ....Give it a try Love from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my rescued Chihuahua companion. 💕👍🐰🐤🐣🐥🐦🐝🌻✝️✝️🇺🇸
I only buy yarn at Hobby Lobby on sale and when I do, I walk out with huge bargains on quality yarn. And I use it up! I hate Walmart yarn selection. Joanne has gotten too expensive unless you find a sale.
The I Love This Yarn by Hobby Lobby (the softest, best yarn ever) costs the same as crappy red heart super saver on their 30% off weeks, which is every other week!!!
The only HL store I have is a long drive and I have never been there. So, I am wondering about their quantity and selection of chrochet and knitting books? All the videos I have seen are yarn and hooks, needles, etc.

Ginger, what are you making with those lovely colors? Also, what city is your HL located in? I'm in the Central Texas area with 3 HL's within 30 min driving time. Lots of blue tape on the floors and tons of aisles getting moved around. Talk about a floorplan revamp! Serious clearance only happening at 1 store so far. 🤔
Sadly they got rid a lot of yarn’s and fabrics too bring more seasonal..😢 they’re getting rid a lot of their own brand 100% along with others. Looks like they’re keeping acrylics and cotton.. Your store is loaded compared to our stores here…

My Hobby Lobby moved locations. When they did, they downsized the yarn department WAY down. Made me sad. 😢😢
