About the live performance, I don't usually recommend Korean Music Shows for live (vocal focus) performances cause although visually it can be great, a lot of times they do lots of pre-recording stuff, and the final product is not live, or their mics are too low, is not even the artist problem, usually is the producing team, lots of artists have been mad at them before... But lately is changing, ON for example you could actually hear them singing live for a change, without fans trying to clean the back vocals (I'm talking about MR removed videos)...
Lala Mu he’s been reacting to bts for years now... really don’t know why he still chooses to react to music show performances when they’re clearly not good representatives of their vocals. I love him but why be a vocal coach reacting to vocals if there are no vocals to react to lol
Usually, the first public stage video of Korean idols is not the first public stage video to be performed at a concert hosted by an idol agency, this stage of this song shows in advance that such dances and performances will be performed at the concert. So that fans can pay more attention to their upcoming concert. And even if it was the same song, if you listen carefully, the cheers of the fans on the first public stage will sound much smaller than the cheers of the fans at the concert. th-cam.com/video/J1kufo5WUfo/w-d-xo.html This is because even though BTS sang well, they add more BGM to the original video on the channel and upload the video😥 That's why their voices are covered. spring day has a very emotional and deep meaning to korea which is why it hasn’t left the charts since it’s release in 2016. it’s a tribute to the 300+ students that lost their lives in a ferry accident. the tragedy itself redefined korea as a country and brought a lot of people together. i do recommend watching spring day explained as the lyrics, cinematography and choreography is all explained to you.
Spring Day is about missing loved ones who have passed away; “Past the end of this cold winter Until the spring comes again Until the flowers bloom again Stay there a little longer Stay there”. It’s my favorite BTS song, and the one I relate to the most.
If you want good live vocal performances I wouldn’t recommend watching comeback shows or korean music shows in general, these shows really focus on the entertainment, stage and performance rather than live vocals, they do a lot of takes and then put together the best parts, and the backing tracks are often really high. BTS always sings live over the backing track, but you’ll never really be able to analyse live vocals from those performances. I’d always recommend live concert performances (they always sing live at their concerts) or some award show performances instead ☺️ in my opinion some of their best live vocals are from their HYYH concert and their Wings final concert!
Taehyung / V actually adds that "cry" to his voice right when the lyrics mentions crying! So he sings the word crying in a crying voice, hits you so much more harder when you understand it in Korean😭
literally so shocked you’ve not listened to this QUEEN of a song yet Adam! Everytime bts release new music Spring Day also comes back into the charts ! Every time!
Yeah Spring Day always makes me emotional. It's sad, but it's in memory of all the students who lost their life on a ship accident. I don't know the whole story enough to type it all, but students were going on a trip and they had to go on a ship, somehow, something went wrong and the ship started filling up with water. The crew told the kids to stay in the boat and not to move. Later it was discovered, only a few kids didn't listen and escaped to safety, and the crew had already fled, leaving all the other students still in the ship. Help took wayyyy to long, and all the other students drowned. Very sad.
I'm pretty sure with the m countdown videos that they take multiple takes of it, but they use only one of the audios from one of the videos to put on top... so times when it seems like they're lip syncing more its probably because its another vocal take on top of it
I recommend looking for concert or award show performances to check out the real live versions of the songs, cause usually the korean music shows' production teams do a lot of post production on the pre-recorded performances, or turn on the backing track pretty loudly and turn down their mics a lot, because they're pretty big on these flawless, visually stunning and perfect sounding performances. That's usually good only for a first release of a performance, where they just want to best showcase what they've prepared for it. But the concerts and the award shows are where you can see the real live performances of every song. That being said, I think that used to be more of a problem before. Their latest performances for this era (with On and Black Swan) on the korean music shows did seem a lot more real than they usually do. Guess the music shows' production teams decided to change their approach for a change.
Yes it was actually RM who started off in the MV/studio version. j-hope does the live version bc he doesn't have lines in the studio version so they split up the first verse.
The clock in the laundry room is stopped at the exalt time the ship started to sink. The yellow ribbons mean Sewel Campaign here in Korea. RM said he made this song for missing friends in COMFORTing people as well. And parents said thanks to BTS for visiting the accident place secretly at dawn in making this song cause his daughter also was a BTS fan. After releasing this song BTS and Bighit donated for the people related with this tragedy
watch bts v live vocal compilation, there is a part that v sing even his dancing no instrument and other live performance that v sing live louder than the backing song 💜
It wasn't Jhope singing that part you it was Rm you were right they gave him the first part because he had no lines in the audio version Jin also has more lines.
spring day was one of the first songs i've heard from them (in 2017 when i was just getting into the fandom) and i get so nostalgic every time i hear it
I personally think that they sang most of it live, but mcountdown likes to overlap it with the pre-recorded vocals as well since they record the performance several times.
Our Queen Song.... The theory of this song is about sewol ferry in South Korea. But, RM just said it's about missing friend. I assuming because at that time it's hard to talk about tragedy. And they are consider them self as a family, not just coworker. They have been together since 2010 and still living together in one apartement until now
when the song was recorded and came out RM was singing the beginning.....many fans complained that JHope didn't have enough time in the song so RM gave him his part...so when performed live, Jhope sings it but it is RM on the mv and actual recording
I believe that they always sing live but half of their performance when they focus on the dance the backtrack is louder than their voice. But you can hear snippets of their voice coming through
No RM did sing in the M/V but since Hobi didn't have a line and only did adlibs he took part of RM's lines or his singing lines to be exact to make it even
They are one of the few singers to never lipsync, they always sing live even if their choreography is hard thats why they rehearse a lot before every music shows, award shows and concerts
*it was actually talk about tragedy of sewol ferry that sinking, students on trip was the victims, so the lyric "i miss u", in MV there was some clothes (protrayed their belonging that found) and yellow ribbons (korean hang it a lot dedicated to the death that time).*
I don't know if anyone has said this already but it seems like in the past on shows like this one they had a more heavy backing vocal because they splice up the scenes to get the best parts of the performance. Like they perform about 7 times then those performances get cut up to make the perfomance we watch.
Since this song came out in 2017 it has never left the Korean charts. There are a lot of theories that this is a tribute to the kid’s who died in a huge tragedy (a ferry started sinking and the captain ordered all the passengers to stay put while he ran and saved himself. Most the passengers where school kids on a trip and almost 300 - or maybe more I don’t remember - lost their lives.) so the music video basically has lots of symbolism relating to the accident and the lyrics are talking about how the kids are stuck in winter they’ll never be able to see spring. I didn’t explain it as well but there’s videos explaining it on TH-cam. But yeah this song is huge in Korea like I said it has never left the charts and it’s one of their biggest hits
Honestly, i think that songs like spring day where jimins choreo is extra intense (like the full stand up from backbend during his dance pass), they somehow build up his backing track specially bc his voice is so breathy and soft, but thats just a guess
They not only tour together but they have chosen to still live today. 8 years they have lived together. At one time in the beginning they had one bedroom with three bunk beds
For their vocals try to search for their concerts. These videos you usually watch are to promote the new album, hence the flawlessness. Although they’re singing, the backing track is really loud and you would have to remove the mr to hear their voices.
Some scenes from this Mv is about the big ferry accident in 2014, over 300 students died. The captain and crew saved theme self and told the passangers to stay inside the boat even when it was on ot side. Students sat whid lifejackets on and drowned. In Korea you obey the older people, so the clothes represents the victims and the yellon ribbons also, also about the book omelas( an utopia society where a child have to suffer and be whid out clothes, so the rest off the city can live a good life
From future, find a live version from their live concerts. Mnet and other stages are for television, and they mostly go through post production and stuff.
Omg Adam has no ideia of how bts is complex. My man, just saying, they have a huge repertoire, so many books and theoris to study that make armys go crazy. I already boughy a psicology book because of them hahahahaha (sorry for my bad english)
From what I've seen before there are some performances that they don't fully sing the whole song. There are some parts of the song where you can clearly hear their live vocals and some parts where they rely more on the backing track to compensate a bit for the intensity of the choreography so I think this is one of those performances where they are doing a mix of live singing and being supported by the backing track
I kind of hear, actually RM take 1st part on studio ver. And jhope being the backing vocal on most all part of the song. But the fans complain to big hit that jhope deserve some part of his own. So it changed, on the performance ver 1st part is for jhope. (Army, cmiiw)
This performance is from a music show. Most Korean music shows have them lip sync. Sometimes they will do both if they are allowed. It was not very often they could sing live on a music show back then, nowadays they can sing live more because they are more popular (that is how it is on Music shows in Korea, the more popular are allowed to do more). If you want to see a live performance you should check out award performances or concert footage.
Hi Adam! They are singing with backing track, the production team edited their live voice track. I’m not exactly sure what they did, but they did something to blend the live vocals with the recordings. They kept doing that to certain parts of the song for Korean encore stage until the boy with luv stage in 2019. But in Jimmy Fallon show 2020 ON comeback stage alone, for some reasons, they used heavy backing track (I think it is because the recording condition performing at the train station) Also, they usually do some slight pitching for the concert recoding.
It is not backing track, it is their own voice, just pre recorded a few hours before the live show while they were dancing and performing the exact same way.. thats why it sounds like it is live but also not.. It is not actually supposed to be a noticable difference but some people are not good at lip syncing so..🤣
the fans know that the performance from weekly music shows which in it they promote for there new song after it released, all the groups used alot of backing track or they don't sing live at all, you should listen to it from a concert or award show performance ✌️
Adam, Spring Day I’ve heard is about grieving of the Sewol ferry sinking in Korea when all the high school kids drowned with the ship - spring April 16, 2014. The clothes piles represents the clothes of the kids who lost their lives. And BTS sing “(pokoshpta = I miss you, you’re my best friend”. There is a synopsis video on TH-cam explaining more of the meaning in this video. I think it was their social statement after the event. The captain told the kids to stay in their rooms instead of having them abandon ship.
You are right. Not only BTS but also other Korean singers sometimes show 'lip-unmatched live' even if they don't look doing lipsynk. It's because of the Korean production system. Usually in Korean music show, singers are required to do performances several times to make 'sauces'. After shooting many times, producers find the best version of audio and video. They put the best audio to best video and it goes on air. It depends on producers' judgment. If the best sound and picture are in the same shot, it will look more naturally and nobody would doubt about their live. But if they are not, they come from separately (eg. On air = audio in 2nd shot + video in 1st shot). So in that case, they could look lipsynk along with live sound. Korean listeners are very highly demanding for singing live. If someone does lipsynk, he or she is considered that he or she doesn't do his/her job. Trust me, they all sing live. Of course, even if they do live, there are differences how much they use backing vocals. But BTS are known for singing every 'their' song along with 'live MR', which has the least backing vocals since their debut(except for special performance such as homage). It's like their basic principle to live as singers.
The comeback shows (like the one your watching) have a backing track and are pre recorded. The actually live parts are where you can see the fans. Before the fans, those parts are pre recorded...if that makes any sense.
It was RM in the studio version, but j-hope does it live. If you notice, he had no individual lines in the studio track. (But his voice was prominent throughout song as harmonization.)
The song refers to the accident with the Sewol ferry in Korea, where many drowned high school students died because they were not rescued correctly and only 5 of them survived.
You are right! RM sings the first lines in the music video and studio version of Spring Day but in live version J-Hope sings the first lines. Actually in the studio version there is no specific part for J-hope but he harmonizes throughout the song. Spring Day is such a good song...definitely ARMY favorite
You were right in the mv it was rm who sang but because of the Coreo they changed it live to jhope (you should hear all rappers sing!!!they sound amazing )
The song is EXTREMELY popular amongst Koreans because it was of a tragic accident I think it was Called Sewon Ferry tragedy it was a national crisis and it represents the many deaths, also it represents the movie Snowpiercer
the first part you were right bcs in digital version there's no jhope's part but in live version its different. and this comeback show is prerecorded so there were a lot of backup music. if you want full live band version try check out gayo daechukjae 2017 (kbs song festival) they definitely going ALL LIVE with band so you can judge them cz this one somehow not that into full live version.
Spring day has like a couple of meanings and it has a deeper meaning than you'd ever thought. It talks about losing a loved one and friendship. It refers to the Seoul ferry accident the government hid. in Seoul And it's about longing and remembering someone you can no longer have/meet. And the guilt that the survivers feels after they lost their friends and missing them without being able to meet them again 💔 you can search about the accident it's very popular in korea Ofc spring day has another couple meanings though but this one is the most obvious 😭💔
I really think they add a lot of echo on the voice to make it sound perfect and ethereal. The other day i saw a video of them on a music show where they were talking/singing into the same mics they use, but with no music, and there was just a lot of echo like brief but immediate so it made the sound really full and busy
Maybe Jimin sing louder than the backtrack so can heard his voice clearly ☺️ but they always sing live...just sometimes the backtrack will cover their sound and at the certain part they didn't sing it... because is so hard to dance and sing at the same time..and I know you know it well than us☺️ appreciate their work hard
I know you're a vocal coach and do your reactions based on their singing but I really recommend watching a "spring day explained" video for this song. The attention to detail with the messaging in the song and music video is amazing 💜 They really talk about real things 💜
they still have live performances with this song, try searching for videos directly from their concerts. So there is a high probability of finding a performance with less use of pre-recording or lip sync. Anyway, thank you very much for the selected song👍👍👍
If you wanna react to they true voices you can watch a video of that like acapella or stuff. Or you can watch like their own concert or world tour because like thesee type of performances like a comeback in certain TV program there are so many backing track💜💜💜But we still live BTS 💜💜💜💜

Adam you should check their concert or awards show performances for such reactions instead of these music shows, cz these korean music shows are promotion platforms for artists when they release a song/album, they pre-record it multiple times to make it 'flawless' then air it on tv, and backing track is also high in such performances. So there is no good for you to react to these as a vocal coach. Look for concert fancams(with most views/good sound quality) or award show performances.

Really love this song...but V hits me soo deep with his deep soulful voice,,he's not only handsome but his voice is i'm heavenly crying
Spring Day is about missing loved ones who have passed away; “Past the end of this cold winter
Until the spring comes again
Until the flowers bloom again
Stay there a little longer
Stay there”. It’s my favorite BTS song, and the one I relate to the most.
The LEGEND Spring Day 🌸 FINALLY hearing the PERFECT song & seeing the most beautiful, artful, tear jerking, heart string pulling choreo
When V hits that note, my heart stops a minute
If you want good live vocal performances I wouldn’t recommend watching comeback shows or korean music shows in general, these shows really focus on the entertainment, stage and performance rather than live vocals, they do a lot of takes and then put together the best parts, and the backing tracks are often really high. BTS always sings live over the backing track, but you’ll never really be able to analyse live vocals from those performances. I’d always recommend live concert performances (they always sing live at their concerts) or some award show performances instead ☺️ in my opinion some of their best live vocals are from their HYYH concert and their Wings final concert!
RM writed this amazing song in 50minuts when he was in a parc, and this mesterpiece is still charting in korea and japan it's called the chart beast .
That’s my favorite part of V’s voice!
I'm still hoping you to react on Jungkook's "My Time". 😊
same here. I am still waiting and so close to unsubscribing because of frustration! haha!
Up
Me too😊
lhey DL2019 Hahaha let's just wait a little more. Let's just watch BangTan's videos to calm down 😊💜
all he does lately is reacting to jk s covers. give him a break. he ll react to it
Taehyung / V actually adds that "cry" to his voice right when the lyrics mentions crying! So he sings the word crying in a crying voice, hits you so much more harder when you understand it in Korean😭
I am so happy that you have finally reacted to the queen "Spring Day". I loved your reaction so much!
literally so shocked you’ve not listened to this QUEEN of a song yet Adam!
Very sad.
7:16 thats jin not jk singing .
me having flashbacks when V sang this verse holding pikachu in the cute version sound better than the recording
Tae part is my favorite. I feel emotional evreytime i hear spring day. One of a bts masterpiece.
Please react to BTS V and Jin - Even if i die it's you
I'm pretty sure with the m countdown videos that they take multiple takes of it, but they use only one of the audios from one of the videos to put on top... so times when it seems like they're lip syncing more its probably because its another vocal take on top of it
Here's a live version where you can clearly hear their vocals it was during a concert :
th-cam.com/video/b4maCQ_fJAg/w-d-xo.html
TAEHYUNG IS PERFECT IS ART ❤️❤️❤️💘
If you want to hear RM singing, listen to him singing with Jungkook 'I know'
V's voice always give me chills
The clock in the laundry room is stopped at the exalt time the ship started to sink. The yellow ribbons mean Sewel Campaign here in Korea.
RM said he made this song for missing friends in COMFORTing people as well.
And parents said thanks to BTS for visiting the accident place secretly at dawn in making this song cause his daughter also was a BTS fan. After releasing this song BTS and Bighit donated for the people related with this tragedy
You have to see they singing this song in Brazil. The fans singing together is amazing!
watch bts v live vocal compilation,
there is a part that v sing even his dancing no instrument
and other live performance that v sing live louder than the backing song
💜
It wasn't Jhope singing that part you it was Rm you were right they gave him the first part because he had no lines in the audio version Jin also has more lines.
spring day was one of the first songs i've heard from them (in 2017 when i was just getting into the fandom) and i get so nostalgic every time i hear it
I personally think that they sang most of it live, but mcountdown likes to overlap it with the pre-recorded vocals as well since they record the performance several times.
Fun fact! After every song of there's trends on 1st place in Korea...Spring Day comes and takes its place. Forever the number one queen!
But you can hear snippets of their voice coming through
Oh that song is just so beautiful little did you know there is so much happening on that mv. spring day has story behind it , very much meaningful..
No RM did sing in the M/V but since Hobi didn't have a line and only did adlibs he took part of RM's lines or his singing lines to be exact to make it even
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS finally a reaction to the queen!!
They are one of the few singers to never lipsync, they always sing live even if their choreography is hard thats why they rehearse a lot before every music shows, award shows and concerts
pleaseeee you need to react to jungkook and v singing together in the bangtan bomb. their harmonizing kills me every time!
Spring day is not just a song it is an emotion ...who actually knows the meaning of this song can't listen it without crying ..
YES! Queen Spring Day!!! She shall never let anyone take her place on the charts!
You should definitely check out Jungkook & RM’s cover for Troye Sivan’s song “Fools”, where RM is singing and not rapping at all. :)
I only discovered that song a cpl of weeks ago & it's so good! Joon's voice sounds great, he really can sing when it's within his lower register. :)
I kind of hear, actually RM take 1st part on studio ver. And jhope being the backing vocal on most all part of the song. But the fans complain to big hit that jhope deserve some part of his own. So it changed, on the performance ver 1st part is for jhope. (Army, cmiiw)
Blood sweet and tears - this too good song BTS
React to "BTS-Blood,Sweat and Tears". It is the song that made them HUGE💜💜
Love your reaction and explanation
up and the live from music award shows , MAMA 2016.
Yeah I suggest watching another live performance of this song because it truly is one of their best if not the best.
When it’s a countdown or a comeback, they use more back tracking. It’s sometimes it’s live but it’s not a concert.
They actually arent only together when they are touring or practicing. They also all still live together!
because their singing it! they don't lipsync, sometimes it depends on how much backing track they use.
finally reacting to the queen spring day... this song didn't go off the charts in Korea ever since it was released in 2017
The comeback shows (like the one your watching) have a backing track and are pre recorded. The actually live parts are where you can see the fans. Before the fans, those parts are pre recorded...if that makes any sense.
One of my hopes is to get an acoustic or unplugged version of this song with BTS just singing it. This is by far one of my favorite songs of theirs.
Spring day is my favorite song from BTS. Finally u reacted :)
i think it depends on what stage you watch to how heavy the background music and singing is
On the MV it was RM. ( The first part )
You are actually right !! It’s RM that sang the first part of the song but for the live performance they made jhope do it
The song is EXTREMELY popular amongst Koreans because it was of a tragic accident I think it was Called Sewon Ferry tragedy it was a national crisis and it represents the many deaths, also it represents the movie Snowpiercer
the first part you were right bcs in digital version there's no jhope's part but in live version its different. and this comeback show is prerecorded so there were a lot of backup music. if you want full live band version try check out gayo daechukjae 2017 (kbs song festival) they definitely going ALL LIVE with band so you can judge them cz this one somehow not that into full live version.
Spring day has like a couple of meanings and it has a deeper meaning than you'd ever thought. It talks about losing a loved one and friendship. It refers to the Seoul ferry accident the government hid. in Seoul
And it's about longing and remembering someone you can no longer have/meet.
And the guilt that the survivers feels after they lost their friends and missing them without being able to meet them again 💔 you can search about the accident it's very popular in korea
Ofc spring day has another couple meanings though but this one is the most obvious 😭💔
Or you can watch like their own concert or world tour because like thesee type of performances like a comeback in certain TV program there are so many backing track💜💜💜But we still live BTS 💜💜💜💜
usually when they're promoting their songs on music shows they pre-recorder some parts of the live version, you should check for awards versions
Actually this song is about the sewol ferry tragedy.. they put so much thought it in the mv it's crazy. Every scene symbolises something 💜💜
Bts is literally family💜💜💜
U can watch thr one take live singing at award shows, fansign nd concerts......this is pre recorded but not lipsync coz u can watch thr recording at behind the scene videos....they like come early reharse nd record like 2,3 times till they gt the best shot its like shooting mv but with live singing......u shd check sm of thr behind the scenes on bangtan bomb cz they work really hard till they collapse💜
