Chances are at the 10:10 mark, you were committing about all the wood cases. Chances are these cases were used to ship large weapons from a manufacturer to a Military Installation, and once they removed weapons from these cases, they needed to be turned into the military installation DRMO (Distribution Reutilization Material Operation) or as I always used to call it, "Salvage Yard". Once an item reaches this entity, there is a time period where it enters and any Federal Agency that needs it can remove this item for usage within their organization. If time expires for any Federal Agency to withdraw this item, the item is placed into another time period for any State Agency to withdraw this item for their usage. But if the item passes through both time periods and not removed for usage, then it is placed into a status where it will be sold to the highest bidder within the Civilian populace. I think some folks decided it was a safe enough place to set up a range and enjoy a little shooting competition. If so, women would have been very welcome. Hello WonderHussy maybe one day if you haven’t already you can visit the Galleta meadows estates in the Anza-Borrego desert near San Diego. I know your always up for a challenge! Love your videos and personality💜💛🧡💚❤️
Several years ago on that TV show where people pitch business idea's to successful investors , one guy won for setting up a training camp where average folk could train like the FBI. This looks like the place, a desert location. They even showed people running through live fire drills, was fun to watch. Might be fun to research , the total as l investment was like 400.000. If there isn't brass on the ground its sure they made made them police /clean everything before leaving. Might still be operational, was a popular segment.
You just never know what your going to find in our desert do you??!! Looks like a place guys who shoot come out and just....shoot, drink, eat, and by the looks of some of the way those structures are built, compete to show “who’s the best...?” Any female that wants to see what there man does when he’s “male bonding “ this would be the lace to sit back and watch. I think it would be fun!!!❤️❤️
Well...see, there's the difference in people. The shooting community isn't just men. More women are getting into it all the time. The shooting community encourages women to join...because it's a well known fact that "Nobody ever raped a .38"...or an AR15 for that matter.
You might get run of if you pick a time that there's a shooting event scheduled. Some folks took a lot of time and effort setting up there...making sure they were off the beaten path and all. Just sayin'...
@@tomfrye9037 Absolutely, anything beaten is never a good thing in my experience but you still always hide in the ladies & Gents toilet, these people are probably too drunk to think about their gender and what makes sense
@@flauwegeit So you're thinking a drunken mob goes out there shooting? You truly do not know the American Shooting public. We have talked so much crap about being straight upstanding citizens that we can't back out now. It'd be too embarrassing(8-). Seriously...we do not drink and shoot on the same day any drinking would be done after the shooting event and cleanup is done for the day. It's just too dangerous to drink and shoot. I gave up what little drinking I did when I got my concealed carry permit. That area just looks far to organized to me (except for a couple of items the wind may have blown over) for me to believe it was set up by a bunch of drunks.
That’s our nudist prepper camp. 3 to 1 women vs men in our club. Darn tootin that women love shooting guns especially while naked. No photos allowed in our camps so I hope for a good memory.
They should put as much effort into cleaning up the place as they did in construction of the place. Wildcat ranges give a bad name to the shooting sport.
Well I saw a fairly cleaned and policed area. The leftovers were piled in a neat pile for future burn and the chairs were pushed in. No brass laying around no empties laying around and the shitter was high and tight for a Home depot bucket behind some pallets so not sure what you could complain about keep on keeping on Semper Fi
@chris younts If you're so blind that you can't see someone wondering around downrange, you're not going to be shooting. One of the rules of shooting is, if your can't see well what's down range, don't take the shot. If I can see there's a house, car, a cow a person...whatever beyond that deer I want, I will not take the risk...the deer can just walk on by. I'll just eat some jerky made from the last one.
Probably not...although every able bodied man (and women too if they are willing) is a part of the nation wide militia according to the constitution. No...it's not the National Guard as some folks think. This place is just a remote enough place that some guys (and some gals too, I guess) Decided it was a safe place to shoot. I know of a couple of places like that in Missouri and one in Illinois. A local gunsmith here has quite a range on his acreage about 3 miles from me. Shooting is quite a competitive sport. As one guy mentioned in the comments, there isn't a bunch of spent cartridges on the ground...that's because lots of people reload them.
@Frank Winkhorst "A well regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free state" is the precursory clause. In other words the rationale for the secondary clause "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" It is like saying "bacon, being necessary for a balanced breakfast, the right of the people to keep and fry pork shall not be infringed". The secondary clause stands on it's on. The precursory clause makes no since by itself. It is a statement, not a declaration of rights. Also "well regulated" does not mean government controlled. In the parlance of the day "well regulated" meant in good working order. As in a "well regulated" clock. Both the Federalist and anti Federalist papers make this very clear. What the Founder's intent was is well documented.. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776 "I ask who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people, except a few public officers." - George Mason, Address to the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 4, 1788 “A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves…and include, according to the past and general usuage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them." - Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788 "The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams, Massachusetts Ratifying Convention, 1788 “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!” -Benjamin Franklin

@Frank Winkhorst this is not "Nut Job" she said she is south Death Valley and with California laws now you just can't go and shoot anywhere so I am sure a lot of like minded distance shooters got together and made this little area to shoot. As shown the area is well policed of brass and trash so they are respectful of the area probably current, former military or LEO and or just good quality Gun respecting civilians. You go to a movie theater to see movies and if you are a good patron you take your trash and all to the proper area to dispose, not alot of places to shoot so you improvise and make one and keep it nice by keeping it clean, so nothing nut job about that. Sorry the movie theater was the only public gathering I could think of currently that had like minded people doing the same thing "The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... that is the point of being in the middle of nowhere. rounds only travel so far and from what it looked the direction of most of the fire had at least 2 mile view to the mountains so I don't think or actually I know if you were "Hiking" way down range to where you were not visible then there would be nothing to worry about I am sure they have a range master or spotter keeping watch over the entire range during shooting. I would also like to think since they police their brass and other items that they are not out there shooting in the air willy nilly like most non shooters Anyway Keep on keeping on Semper Fi

So he was very proud to drive us everywhere important for a successful lawyer 46 years for the rail and a particular kind of guy. So every national monument and park and I just grew up and never stopped.traveking. Leaving car behind and I was 24 and my high school romance was choosing to throw her fortune to winds of fortune as a music therapist out of California Lutheran College. We did grad year at ASU and recently may have gotten shot up at the bar reunion where the marine shot up the thousand oaks water hole and my ex may have been in that.. Karen Myrehn of Prescott Az. I've lost contact. So Any way.. broken hearted I sold my car and put it all on a bicycle and headed for U of O and the Eugene Or. bicycle culture. I was burned out on the south and Nixon and the die hards and I liked the trip so much I continued by ten speed to Toledo. Dads house . And I even saw Karen again. She did not know I was coming as she was out of st. Joseph Missouri doing a promised grad year for yer scholarship at the state hospital 70 miles north of the hiway I passed the sign State Hospital and I knew Karen was there so I turned right that morning and pedaled into a huge Gothic castle monstrosity seen fromntue flats at great distance as I rolled up and could soon see a group of 6 foot blondes standing at the front gate of the institution together when they all noticed a dot getting bigger down the road which was me. I still don't know why they were all out there kidding around and just being clowns which is what they do for dull moments. Put on a show constantly for the nuts ...and it works they have these guys wrapped around their little finger and busy on building anything positive ...and they look like racoon's in the headlights as a lone bicyclist drops his bike and runs and picks up and rag dolls this big woman. So the dot materialized into her long lost boyfriend and no she still doesn't want to marry me and now all her girlfriends are beating her up and asking if she's crazy. The biggest man on earth just bicycled 6900 miles and you..... So a siren went of and it was an approaching tornado. So I got kidnapped and locked in the basement of the state hospital with half dozen single eligible crazy blondes six footers ...and my X. And me a very appreciative greatful seven foot bicyclist made my way through the passes of snowy Ouray Colorado and 40 years ago today Halloween I rolled into Prescott and did not go to Gramps house. I got a room on Whiskey row Prescott and no one knew I was home so i partied at marios and I wore a bright blue leather ski mask with fleece lining as I just rode the Colorado passes. And my Michelin man feather coat jeans and engineer boots. Hooded jacket and I'm a perfect chainsaw murderer and Halloween was heating up as a gaggle of blonds was deciding who or how many were going to kidnap the freaky giant . Of course I had a room 100 yards away and she wouldn't let me take off my mask till we were alone and had no idea who I was. I told her the occasion of this party just finishing 8000+ miles. She then gave me a proper welcome home. Kindergarten teacher.what a trip. Made national news three times and no family member ever saw one of them. Nobody. Oh well Sarah it was 40 years ago. Today.

Instead of giving them up they go to a place away from everyone to shoot and not get arrested. Cant take an AR or AK to a cali gun range..even if you are grandfathered in to own it legally, all the BS from the people at the range will call the cops and make your "fun" day at the range horrible with you having to prove your innocence. Those benches are cleaning and loading stations.
those boxes are ammo crates
way to large for small arms ammo.
no the size from what I remember stinger missile or some type of missile tube crate. Would weigh too much for troops to carry if it were ammo

Dove Tail, not tongue and groove...love your videos, amazing how you never run out of stuff to explore, lol, God Bless Nevada!
It's tenons.
Amen 💜
@@tk1882 Nope they are Box Joints...easier to cut and just as strong
Wasn't tongue and groove. Its dove tail joint. Not a complex it's a compound.
would you shit if women also shot guns there?
Very good to se how some people can have fun not bother anybody
Hey does the National Guard use it for weekend duty ??? They'd have all those munition crates and trucks to bring them there ??
I think some folks decided it was a safe enough place to set up a range and enjoy a little shooting competition. If so, women would have been very welcome. The shooting
community welcomes women with open arms. There's a little bit of Annie Oakley in every woman...and many women become super great shots. If's very empowering, Ladies.
You all should try it.
🎃👍 🎯N IT !!!
I visited “ Annie Oakleys “grave thanks to a roadside historic marker near Dayton, Ohio in the summer of 2002.
Nice looking little range set up.
You are great. People like you help make Vegas the cool place that I love.
They compare the size of their guns.
HAHA! Believe it or not, the biggest guns aren't the most fun to shoot though. Recoil can wear a body down fairly quickly.
tom frye Maybe some “Brokeback Mountain” Action too.
Looks like Sara Connor's hideout.
That's a big campsite with water barrels, grills, chairs, tables, bar, outhouse.
Very cool inexpensive remote shooting range!

Could be a training camp for terrorist??
Vaguely reminds of a para-military training camp. Got some local militia groups?
Swing set /its actually a overhead ladder that you go hand over hand across it helps to build upper body strength
Yep it had swing chains and swing seats too tho. Look again.
@@PoM-MoM those chains are for tie downs it gets really windy out there but i suppose you could swimg on them if you wanted. In basic training ee had to go across one of thpse negore every meal.
Very interesting.
Hello WonderHussy maybe one day if you haven’t already you can visit the Galleta meadows estates in the Anza-Borrego desert near San Diego. I know your always up for a challenge! Love your videos and personality💜💛🧡💚❤️
"There's a ghost of a moon in the afternoon; bullet holes in the mail box"
Looks like fun
Target range is all it is. Ammo boxes
Might still be operational, was a popular segment.
many reload is why no brass. 👍
Kind of reminds me of a training camp we raided in South America. But most likely just some people letting of steam.
Nice shooting range. Definitely cheaper than conventional range.
It’s kinda like something outta Burning Man that never got burned
Unlike Burning Man the shooters actually clean up after themselves.
What? No "Boi-oi-oi-oing" effect after the "Sausage" reference @ 4:37?
it a dove tail joint in the wood boxes..
The shooting community encourages
women to join...because it's a well known fact that "Nobody ever raped a .38"...or an AR15 for that matter.
Nice. 💛
Walking around the desert in flip flops. SMH. Oh my goodness.
''We need to find a place top camp'' I think this is it >
You might get run of if you pick a time that there's a shooting event scheduled. Some folks took a lot of time and effort setting up there...making sure they were off
the beaten path and all.
We have talked so much crap
about being straight upstanding citizens that we can't back out now. It'd be too embarrassing(8-). Seriously...we do not drink and shoot on the same day any
drinking would be done after the shooting event and cleanup is done for the day. It's just too dangerous to drink and shoot. I gave up what little drinking I
did when I got my concealed carry permit. That area just looks far to organized to me (except for a couple of items the wind may have blown over) for me
to believe it was set up by a bunch of drunks.
@@tomfrye9037 Good thinking man! I guess I just let my mind wander off and desert me ! and I don't even drink
Ps. The other comments crack me up, some seriously funny people in these desert communities
That’s our nudist prepper camp. 3 to 1 women vs men in our club. Darn tootin that women love shooting guns especially while naked. No photos allowed in our camps so I hope for a good memory.
Lots of women shoot. They love the desert too...
A secret ISIS training center.
They should put as much effort into cleaning up the place as they did in construction of the place. Wildcat ranges give a bad name to the shooting sport.
Some "clubs" schedule "clean up days". Let 'em do their thing. They picked a spot that's out of the way for a reason...
Looks like maybe some weather got to the dried Palm frawns roof at the "tiki bar" but other than that it looked fine to me.
@chris younts 3 or 4 miles is a pretty good backstop.Time and distance foils the fastest bullet.
Well I saw a fairly cleaned and policed area. The leftovers were piled in a neat pile for future burn and the chairs were pushed in. No brass laying around no empties laying around and the shitter was high and tight for a Home depot bucket behind some pallets so not sure what you could complain about

@chris younts If you're so blind that you can't see someone wondering around downrange, you're not going to be shooting. One of the rules of shooting is,
if your can't see well what's down range, don't take the shot. If I can see there's a house, car, a cow a person...whatever beyond that deer I want, I will not
take the risk...the deer can just walk on by. I'll just eat some jerky made from the last one.
If I am not mistaken it's one of CA State Militias training areas.
I’ve shot there 😂
Be safe and have fun .. 5 stars
I'll bet that that man-cave is for a militia.
Probably not...although every able bodied man (and women too if they are willing) is a part of the nation wide militia according to the constitution. No...it's not the
National Guard as some folks think. This place is just a remote enough place that some guys (and some gals too, I guess) Decided it was a safe place to shoot. I
know of a couple of places like that in Missouri and one in Illinois. A local gunsmith here has quite a range on his acreage about 3 miles from me. Shooting is quite
a competitive sport. As one guy mentioned in the comments, there isn't a bunch of spent cartridges on the ground...that's because lots of people reload them.
@Frank Winkhorst well regulated and the government are never one in the same.
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
- Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776
"I ask who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people, except a few public officers."
- George Mason, Address to the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 4, 1788
“A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves…and include, according to the past and general usuage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
- Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788
"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms."
- Samuel Adams, Massachusetts Ratifying Convention, 1788
“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!”
-Benjamin Franklin
@@tomfrye9037 yep, I have an area like this in the bottoms, in Missouri where I /we can shoot just at 4000 yards longest shot so fun with the M107. most of the are is 2000 yards but is still currently flooded most of the area so hard to check targets is is relatively flat which is good versus shooting over valleys and up down hills

Sorry the movie theater was the only public gathering I could think of currently that had like minded people doing the same thing
"The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step - in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come - is to teach men to shoot! "

I wonder if that's BLM land or private. There doesn't appear to be a backstop/barrier to stop the bullets. Wouldn't want to be hiking/wheeling out there when the bullets are flying...
that is the point of being in the middle of nowhere. rounds only travel so far and from what it looked the direction of most of the fire had at least 2 mile view to the mountains so I don't think or actually I know if you were "Hiking" way down range to where you were not visible then there would be nothing to worry about I am sure they have a range master or spotter keeping watch over the entire range during shooting. I would also like to think since they police their brass and other items that they are not out there shooting in the air willy nilly like most non shooters
Anyway

wow u find great places,id campout there for a few days its wicked, great for a party withfriends for a few days
Ok, ok.....I WILL TELL YOU what this place REALLY is. THIS is where we pasty white guys with extended beer bellies go to beseech the sex goddess Ishtar. IMAGINE...pasty white guys (with extended beer bellies dancing around a fire) imploring Ishtar for pleasure. The outdated ammo crates are just for confidence building. We pick up after ourselves to appease Ishtar. We also make sure the toilet seat is down after every use.
I was going to comment about the "Pasty white guy" but then I noticed you said "We pick up" implying you were there. Well I am not pasty and I don't have an extended Beer Belly but I do enjoy places like this to beseech the God or Goddess of shooting and hunting. I pick up my brass and all because I reload and to keep a clean range is a safe range
but what would I know

Hey youngster - love the sunglasses
Next time clean the fingerprint smudges off the lens before you shoot.
A lot of your watchers have traveled a lot.. I have traveled america a lot . Gramps was a lawyer and we all moved out west which is like every little boys cowboy dreams come true . Today.
