This is BS. Magic is entertainment. PERIOD. The magician's job is to entertain an audience. That can involve story telling and there could be a didactic message, but let's not make it out to be something it is not. Telling a kid anything is possible because they saw something impossible, is now possible is wrong. A magician uses sleights, gimmicks, misdirection, psychology to create the illusion that something impossible happened. The magician did not really make any of that happen. Magicians are entertainers, not doctors or scientists. The latter make things possible, for real! I am not discrediting what magicians do. Entertainment is very important. And I believe when magicians try to convince the public that what they do is real instead of focusing on the entertainment aspect, you will get people like Egypt freaking out and crying out "Witch". Or what happened to Wayne Hoochin when he got set on fire in the Domincan Republic for witchcraft.
