Not only is this a great eye changing tutorial its also a great fusion tutorial. This tutorial gave me a better grasp of fusion! Dude you're the freaking man!! You should have at least a million subscribers. HUGE THANKS!!!!
Wow... thanks so much for the comments. Really appreciate it. This was actually the very first video about resolve / fusion that I made. Glad it is still helpful.
Just subscribed yesterday - Like the fact you keep it simple (once had a web design article published -KISS, Keep it simple stupid). You fill a nice niche. All the success to you and please keep it to DaVinci Resolve - It's growing and could use as many tutorials as we can get.
Appreciate your support and encouragement! I have a lot more tutorials/videos planned. Just have to find the time to get them done. Thanks for watching!
This took me a few tries to get right, especially having to go frame-by-frame to adjust tracking and all, but the end result turned out great! Thank you for this!!!!!!
I’m DEFINITELY going to be referencing this video over and over again! I just got DaVinci Resolve on my desktop, and I’m LOVING IT!! Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial!
Thanks a lot for this tutorial, works great Alhamdoullelah, even though the shapes don't show up after I did the Plasma, the colour doesn't seem to change, but apart from that, good job. But is there a way to replace the eye with an image or a video?
Diggin your tutorials. Gonna keep watching and start practicing. The menus didn't show up on this vieo so I ha to go bacak a couple times to see what you were selecting. I got it. I just needd to practice using and understanding fusion better.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah... this was the first video I made... Did not have the screen capture setup property so it did not record the popup menus...Sorry about that... All part of the learning process. Make mistakes and get better! Thanks for watching!
Dear William, I just came across your tutorial on DaVinci Fusion and thought it was very informative. I have recently left Adobe Premiere in favor of DaVinci resolve, so I am very interested in learning more about Fusion. I was never able to get my head around After Effects, (and before that Boris Effects), however, your explanation was paced just right for me to follow. I hope my comment will encourage you to make more. All the Best!
H Keith...Thank for the feedback... Really appreciate it. I am new to Resolve as well and have been exploring. There is lots to learn. I definitely plan on making more tutorials and videos about film making... Hope to get a bit better with each one.
@@WilliamJusticeMedia :/ I understand, to me a film from an independent filmmaker is not bad, it takes a lot of effort and time to make a short, I'm pretty sure you did a lot of cool shots. Well I hope to watch some of your work soon. BTW your tutorial helped me a lot. I will send you the link once my short is ready. Thank you!
Hi the fast noise is added on top of the background for the eyes. The background is being resized and changed to fit the eye shape wit with the planar tracker. The spline is used as a mask on the plasma so we only get plasma inside the eye part. Not sure if that answers your question, but thats kind of how it is setup.
No need to buy the effect. You can just follow the tutorial to see how it works and create it yourself. I do have a "buy me a coffee" link if you wish to give me a little something, but it is definitely not necessary. www.buymeacoffee.com/WilliamJustice
wow, that is awesome, is there anyway by chance that you can do one, in how to make your eyes look like the witcher? that would be fantastic! there is a lot of people out there seeking this type of solution, specially now that they have a netflix series coming out, and btw. the eye has nothing to do with the real one. the one in the game is the phenomenon! the cat eye looking thing is amazing. I'm trying to figure this out, on how to do it. if you could do a tutorial I would highly appreciate it! thank you!
@@WilliamJusticeMedia Thank You Very Much!! I'm doing a short film. pretty much on my own, on the very budget, invested everything I had in my bmpcc4k rig, computer etc. really got into this film production thing, and I'm a beginner, so is a little tough you know? gathering help from everywere where I can. I've watch a lot of your videos and just want to thank you a lot, I have learned a lot form it!
@@danielbruno2631 Very Cool. Here are a couple of really quick screen shots not exactly like the video, but it may get you started in the right direction. I used a grid warp effect with the magnet type set to selected. That allows you to distort and move the points around. You select/move points and grab the handles to adjust the angles. Then i added a quick color corrector with a mask around the eyeball (bspline) to change the eye color. There are tons more things that can be done. Definitely add more detail to the eye... The key to this is that the eye cannot move... tracking the movement would be a lot harder. here are the screen shots.. good luck! drive.google.com/file/d/1uXsbODAFzELcsIx54VVg_XpWsUme-YJV/view drive.google.com/file/d/1C0BoVipw2VcJ5na9kI1BErJ7yNvGHtIJ/view?usp=sharing
Hi I wanted to ask and maybe you could help me but when I get to the part where you add planar tracker 2 I have done this on my laptop. But the tracking and the rendering of all of it is exceptionally like really really really slow. Is there anyway to improve that as in making this run faster to get it done?
Sorry for the troubles... Does the tracking ever finish? There are different rendering/playback optimizations you can set, but not sure those would help with the tracking.
Can you tell if the tracking starts? When it starts you should see some green tracking elements as it processes. I have seen it not start. If it does not start try shape larger around the area that you want to track. That helped when it was not stating for me. Not sure if that is your problem, but you can try it out.
William Justice Thank you so much, I will try that for sure. And I just think I have a old laptop, but today I have went and bought a video editing tower PC. So now I can make all kinds of stuff that you were teaching people. Great job on the videos and thank you so much and keep them coming
Yeah... that was my fault... My first video.. .was still learning how to setup and make everything. My newer videos should be much better. Always learning and trying to improve. Thanks for your feedback!
@@WilliamJusticeMedia Following your vid I found another one that makes tracing the eyes much easier using curves. For me and what I aim to use this for, I only need to track the pupil/iris, not the whole eye, so I can make it work either way. Cheers
You should make this video more shortly than it is now. You could accommodate about three cool effects, but there is only one here. This is very tightened.
