It is amazing to see these casual interviews with Patrick Stewart. She is such a rich beautiful individual. Jeri Ryan is freaking awesome too. I want a little part on Picard sometime. :)

Thanks for sharing the joke, loser. Anyone might have believed it's a typo. Going an extra yard to explain you are a joke when you could have corrected the typo and just shut up...

That israel question caught Sir Patrick off guard , he seemed pressured to give a satisfactory answer.

He was. Israelis are a very powerful, vocal and as a nation have profited very well from their own perpetual victimhood perspective.
Far be it from any other nation to suffer more than them.

I guess I'll be the one to say this: the main problem with Hollywood today (and Patrick himself has been no exception within this trend) is that these people are no longer focused on creativity, fun, story telling and expanding the mind. It has been about pushing politics and ideology on people. We've seen this in the new Star Trek, we've seen this in the new Star Wars, honestly we've seen this all across the map. When the fans point it out, automatically they are labeled as racist, or sexist, or anti-semetic, or intolerant, or -- whatever. As if just wanting to enjoy a movie or a show without being bombarded by political indoctrination is somehow the worst sin a person could ever commit and that we should all be ashamed of ourselves. Ricky Gervais pointed this out spectacularly at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. Notice how even in this video with Patrick Stewart, they just had to start getting political. We never used to see this with interviews back in the day. We never had all of this shoved down our throats constantly back in the day. It is as if the world has become the embodiment of everything that every dystopian science fiction novel has ever warned us not to do, and has showed us the potential consequences of ignoring all of the warnings.

I don't agree with you. Startrek was always political. From the beginning. Having cast a black actress, an Asian and a "Russian" plus a vulcan is nothing else but political. There was the klingons vs the federation as an allegory to the coldwar. I think you can find actual political issues in most of the episodes of the franchise.

@@solstice2318 I agree with you. Star Trek has always reflected some of the political issues at the time a series was filmed. I don't know how people at that time perceived the on going politics around them. I have the feeling that nowadays politics are much more present in everyone's lives, in the sense that it has become more visible, more outspoken that it pushes the boundaries of decency and the polarization has become more obvious. Since the majority of shows have reflected these developments, I can imagine that a lot of people wish to watch something that gives them distraction/escapism from what is going on and hope for a better future.
