the thing is, he's cute, a gentleman, sincere, but he's too uptight, so it's really a personality thing, but the thing is, sometimes people come off inauthentic bc they're nervous so i think she considered the possibility that if he calmed down he might be a great date because he had so much going for him.

I liked the jenga game, I thought that was interesting! The guitar and singing pushed it over the edge, you could see her embarrassment while he was singing and I can understand her suspicion.

She did it because she could tell he was trying too hard, was putting on a big show when on the first date, all she wanted to know was who he was as a person. He was just putting the cart before the horse. Casual, informal dates first, then if the chemistry is there, THEN go to lots of trouble to really wow her and win her over completely. She was trying to break down the walls.

Her most certainly overdid it. While I appreciate this thoughtfulness and talent, the woman was turned off. When she was asked if she wants to go on a 2nd date, she was forced to say yes coz she didn't want to hurt him, it was clear on her face.

Going back to your comment about people getting offended by little things. How would you like it if you went on a date, and a guy said, you don't look good with make up. Then he proceed to smear your makeup with his hand or a piece of napkin. Talk about a lack of respect for personal boundary.

a genuine heart of gold.
Everyone loved him once they knew him.
Nate is obviously a good guy who can remain true to himself and keep his unique presence yet still break through some of the barriers of formality.
It takes massive amounts of energy to be so "on" all of the time and he's young.
A lifetime of such demanding effort would be exhausting for his partner and most of all for him.
I wish the best for Nate. The right person exists and I hope they find each other.

GOOD GOD, as a man I actually felt more and more embarrassed for Nate every time he said "I had", "bespoke this" "bespoke that" "Alpha Male, type A guy" "private club" and not forgetting "bespoke and entrepreneur", ! The Edelweiss was bad enough, but the guitar and singing just killed it. He is a control freak and a show off who has not understood or researched James Bond or this show, as we British are ALL about understatement (we do not boast, we do not show off and we certainly do not want to reinvent the wheel). The concept of the show stands, it is about chatting and getting to know each other. It is not a "job interview with a 52 question test" it is not about promoting yourself and it is not about getting into the Guinness Book of Records with the most "BESPOKE" said in 10 minutes. Also, there is already a PERFECT song from the Sound of Music about "Edelweiss" and do your research on this show by watching about 10-20 couples and you will understand the concept. Sorry to say, no wonder the longest relationship has only been THREE AND A HALF MONTHS . Next time, dress well in casual evening clothes, bring one single pink rose if you have to bring a flower, talk about "HER", do not boast about yourself and change the 3 1/2 months to "under a year" ... DO NOT USE THE WORDS "bespoke" "private club" "alpha male" "entrepreneur" and just enjoy the company and date !!!
