    Very good video about the Signal Corps in the Army. I was in the Signal Corps (Army ) in 1968 - 1970 , using AN/MSC-29 field vans.

    Want to know what life is really like in the signal corps?
    *1SG Screaming:* Holy hell, why is NIPR down AGAIN!? I got $500 on this game and I can't get on ESPN.
    *25S:* Solar flares, Top. Solar Flares....
    *25S stares at the dipshit 25L that just tripped over a cat5 cable and yanked it out of the switch because he didn't secure it when he ran it*
    *25B walks in:* I was only gone for 5 minutes, what did you guys break?
    *25B stares at 25L:* Just.... why are you even..?
    *25N appears:* Hey guys, can I help?
    *Everybody else at the same time:* NO!

    I would think the signal core and engineers work hand in hand. Making WANs and LANs , planning how and where the connections should go etc

    • @superzerox1
      @superzerox1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go 25B or 25S if given a chance. The skills and certs look great to civilian employers, and the trade is extremely profitable and portable. 25U is super important but really does get spread out all over the section.

    i'm a hiring manager at a large bank. we want signal corp for their experience. six figures is in your future. how does the internet work? networking technology. facebook..uses network. twitter uses network. google, youtube..uses networking. you are trained how to shoot and make money with no large student loans. seems like smart people to me. so the when the shooters can become a cop making 40,000.00 a year to start..you will start at 75,000.00 and move up faster. yes. six figures is not far off. hell if it was about money we can start a tech company..oh wait that's closer with an understanding of....well...tech.. anyone can shoot a gun....can they diagnose an I.P. issue when communication is needed with a B1 bomber getting close to it's supposed target..better hope so.

      Joe Divan so if I had a computer Science degree and 4 years of military IT experience I BETTER start with 100k and nothing less bro! That’s 3 years of experience.... other companies kill for stuff like that I would never settle for less than 90k especially because I can code in every program language

      Good luck to you! I have an interest in either 25N, or 25S, by any chance were you eligible for a sign on bonus for your MOS? if so, what were the requirement? and how do the bonuses work? I noticed your MOS is on high demand at the moment, but I to have an interest in this specific field. Thank you in response!

    • @jmsantiago1
      @jmsantiago1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Eofking yes, I picked a small bonus of $5,000 for the 4 year contract. There is so much demand for these MOS that they didn't showed up in weeks. My 1st option was 25b but was unavailable at the moment and my 2nd option 25n had that bonus.

    • @jmsantiago1
      @jmsantiago1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Eofking 25s is harder to get because you must score a 117 on electronics on the ASVAB + Top Security Clearance
      25n is 102 in electronics and 105 in Communications and I believe it's just the Standard Security Clearance, not the top secret

    25u here and was station with a engineer route clearance company and deployed with them. use your benefits, and get and keep you certificates. There are literally thousands of classes and certification courses you can take while you're in that can be used in the civilian sector once you get out. As he said in the video one of the most important ones being your secret clearance that is required for almost all signal core jobs. I don't remember the specific years( I believe its 10 years) in which they are credible. they can be worth money afterwards. Most company level commo section have only a couple guys a lower enlisted with a sgt. I spent most of my time fixing computers, radio, and electronic warfare equipment, manly if it was powered and people used it regularly, you'll have to fix it. Be ready for email and printer problem, higher ups hate computer problems and will blame you. Lmfao overall signal corp is about maintaining mission readiness and has many, many, many useful skill outside of the military, learn all you can and let the military pay for it all.

      with a Bachelors, you will not start at 100k unless you literally know everything.
      Master's maybe, depending on your skillset.
      100k salary is something earned with time, not given up front.
      Don't have an unrealistic view of the military to civilian sector transition.

    • @TetFeMal
      @TetFeMal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      25S requires 117 electronics on the asvab and all sources say they average about 43k a year. I took the 100k comment as a stretch and didn't bother to disrespect the entire video because of that.

    • @oyajitricker
      @oyajitricker 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What do you like to do? What is it about 92Y that you are like man this is cool. If the answer is nothing, pick something else. If your ASVAB(GT and ST) is not good, seek to make it better. Once you leave to Basic Training there is no changing your MOS usually unitl your first term is up. If you are technical, you like the idea of networking do 25N, if you like satcom(the subject Jason was talking about) pick 25S. there are others but do your homework and pick something for yourself. Don't let the recruiter push you to do something. Peace! Thanks Jason for doing this sort of thing.

    • @helterskelter7017
      @helterskelter7017 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      any mos is good if you plan going to college so long as you complete your contract. now depending on what you want to study you may want a different MOS. cav scouts do use some computers but there are more beneficial jobs that utilize computers. but if you don't care if your mos affects your knowledge that translate to an academic subject then cav scout is fine no matter what.

      Your job is to run cables but since any 25 series can do this then you will also be lent out to do any other signal job where help is needed. I always see our 25L helping the 25B with computer issues if they are good with computers or they will be a 25U helping with the tactical signal stuff like radios, computers in the truck and basically any electronics with army paint on it.
